We trappen de Musicology 20-jarige jubileumcampagne vandaag af met de release van United States of Division, een zeldzaamheid van Prince die voorheen alleen beschikbaar was als b-kant.
£United States Of Division, oorspronkelijk uitgebracht op de Amerikaanse Onafhankelijkheidsdag in 2004, is een krachtig protestlied waarin Prince de sociale en politieke kwesties ondervraagt die de natie tot op de dag van vandaag blijven teisteren.

London Grammar keert vandaag terug en kondigt hun langverwachte vierde studioalbum The Greatest Love aan, gepland voor september 2024. Het nieuws van het gloednieuwe album komt samen met de eerste single ‘House’.

Lawijtstrijd - Lawijtstrijd - Muziekconcours Waasland
LAWIJSTRIJD, het legendarische muziekconcours van het Waasland is terug in een samenwerkingsverband van De Casino Concertzaal, Lokerse Feesten, Crammerock en jeugdhuizen Den Eglantier (De Nest), De Cramme en Okapi. De wedstrijd wordt ondersteund door Cultuurtuin Waas (Interwaas) en de stads- en gemeentebesturen van Lokeren, Sint- Niklaas en Stekene. (zie info site )

GREAT GIGS IN THE PARK Tien extraordinaire concertavonden De Casino Concertzaal en het stadsbestuur Sint-Niklaas presenteren een derde editie van Great Gigs in the Park. Deze reeks openluchtconcerten, die plaatsvinden in de feeërieke setting van het historische Casino Park (DC terras), wordt dit jaar gespreid over drie weken (van woensdag 14 juni tot donderdag 6 juli) en bundelt in die periode tien extraordinaire openluchtshows op de Casino[1]kiosk. Gezelligheid is het codewoord tijdens Great Gigs in the Park, want voor elk concertavonden worden slechts 600 tickets aangeboden. Programma De line-up van Great Gigs in the Park biedt een staalkaart van waar de Casino voor staat, zijnde een veelheid aan uiteenlopende muziekgenres: van hardrock en post-metal over elektrofunk en groove tot roots en droompop. De Casino presenteert ook elke concertavond een uitgekiende support-act: laureaten van Lawijtstrijd, speerpunten uit de Brusselse elektrojazz-hype, punk-calamiteiten, een crossover tussen doom en oriëntal, maar ook western swing-adepten en singer-songwriters.

Even voorstellen – Deman Rogue
DEMAN ROGUE - Deman Rogue is een jonge, 4-koppige blues rock 'n roll band uit Alken. Ze brengen een nieuwe, unieke vorm van alternatieve blues.  Geïnspireerd door de groovy sounds uit de jaren 70.
Eerlijke, diepgaande woorden, voortgebracht door een sterke, rakende stem. Compleet met pure, rock 'n roll energie.

Deman Rogue II is het langverwachte tweede full-album van deze opkomende band uit Alken. Op het nieuwe album vormt de blues nog steeds het fundament, maar de combinatie van uiteenlopende stijlen is precies wat hun geluid zo uniek maakt. Reikend van 70’s punk (Reverse! Reverse!), naar Psychedelica (12 BB, Jane Doe). Van stevige Bluesrock (Little Miss Heartbreak) tot een duistere, emotionele sfeer (Borderline, Strings). Dit album bevat het allemaal. Aarzel niet om deze plaat door je boxen te laten blazen! Vergeet niet op repeat te zetten.

Even voorstellen – Paleblue EP release

Daar waar 90’s Grunge en moderne Shoegaze elkaar ontmoeten, vind je de Utrechtse band Paleblue. Op 1 maart 2024 brachten zij in eigen beheer een mini-album uit dat veelvuldig wordt beluisterd op de streamingdiensten. De jonge band, bestaande uit eerstejaars HKU-studenten, is reeds geboekt op de VU (25 april, Amsterdam), het prestigieuze Bridgefestival (31 mei, locatie Stroomhuis, Eindhoven), ACU (7 juni, Utrecht) . Dit is een noodgeval! Waar blijft die f*cking ambulance om ons zo snel mogelijk richting het Sportpaleis te voeren? Want op vrijdag 6 december gaat Goldband het Sportpaleis in Antwerpen volledig met de grond gelijk maken tijdens hun grootste concert ooit!

Goldband was in 2022 zonder twijfel dé post-corona sensatie op de festivals. De Haagse popgroep - bestaande uit Milo Driessen, Karel Gerlach en De Het Boaz - laat zich niet makkelijk in een hokje plaatsen en veroverde zo sinds hun eerste releases in 2019 al snel de harten van Nederlandse en Belgische fans. Dat bewezen ze vorig jaar alvast door in een ongezien recordtempo twee keer de Lotto Arena volledig uit te verkopen! Met hits als "Noodgeval", "Rommel" en "Witte Was" is Goldband niet meer weg te denken van alle grote radiozenders. Ook hun nieuwste single "You & Me", die ze vorige week donderdag op de wereld loslieten, belooft alweer een hit te worden die in vele auto's en huiskamers luidkeels meegezongen gaat worden. Hun grootste optreden tot op datum missen, is dus absoluut geen optie! Kom alles mee afbreken op vrijdag 6 december in het Sportpaleis!
