Out now! ‘The Passenger Disembarked’ is Filip Gheysen's 2nd full length on Silken Tofu. Evolving from the purified and abstract guitar drones on 2013’s ‘Tabletop Guitar’, this new LP is more differentiated. With its melodic ambient passages and noise eruptions, ‘The Passenger Disembarked’ shows a distinctive melancholy, giving the album a warmer and more organic feel.

Gheysen’s soundscapes are always strongly linked to his visual art, and also there we see him evolving, adding more colour and depth to his printmaking.

Filip Gheysen (°1979) is an audio and visual artist, living and working in Ghent, Belgium, with a passion for sound and experimental music. The minimalistic timbre in his musical work are equally visible in Gheysen's visual art, consisting mostly of abstract prints and paintings. There is obviously a play with tones of a colour, thus an inversion of the aformentioned musical term.
