LIVE 04/05/2024 Nuits Botanique, Brussels

Brighton’s Lambrini Girls (Phoebe Lunny, guitar/vocals - she/they, Lilly Macieira, bass - she/they) have rapidly ascended the ranks of the UK music scene. From sharing the cover of Kerrang! with Sleater-Kinney to props from BBC Radio 1 and NME, to a nomination for Rolling Stone UK’s Rising Stars Award, and being Iggy Pop’s new favourite band.

They share new single ‘Body Of Mine’ ahead of a busy summer touring the US with Amy & The Sniffers, a string of festivals, their biggest headline show yet, and ending the year supporting IDLES at their sold-out London shows.

‘Body of Mine’ was recorded with Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox last December alongside earlier single ‘God’s Country’. “While many of our songs, are critiques of societal issues, Body of Mine is a little more personal,” Lambrini Girls explain of their newest offering, continuing, “This song is about trying to connect to your gender identity, feeling like you're not fully yourself, and struggling to figure out how to truly become it. Gender is a complex experience, we acknowledge that this song represents just one perspective among many, of not knowing where you fit inside it all. It’s tough to feel that nobody really gets you and it’s also truly quite shit when you don’t really know how to understand yourself either.”

Limited to a run of 700, this Friday will see the release of a purple 7” that will include recent track ‘God’s Country’ as well as ‘Body Of Mine’ - recorded with Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox.

Lambrini Girls will perform their biggest headline set at London’s SCALA on 13th June, with support from CLT DRP and Sulk. The band will make their US debut this summer, supporting Amyl & The Sniffers as well as their own headline tour over there. They’ll also perform at festivals such as Wide Awake, 2000 Trees, Reading & Leeds Festivals, Green Man, Manchester Psych Fest, and will support IDLES at their sold-out Alexandra Palace shows.
