Even voorstellen - Al(l)ne – debut single ‘peace me off’

‘Peace Me Off’ is a declaration of peace, Al(l)ne’s first single, a play on words between alone and all one, Alexis collaborates with other creatives in this project, a sort of mirror to the universe he is developing with 22 for Silicon Alone.

He is an author, composer, performer, musical producer, and audiovisual director. His artistic vision and innovative approach propose to travel between introspection and exploration. His works, whether musical or visual, challenge conventions and celebrate the power of human connection.

His ability to mix genres and push boundaries can be seen very clearly in this track. The latter will be available on November 11, 2024, Armistice Day, accompanied by a lyrics video which he also directed.

SYNOPSIS: “Peace Me Off” is my debut release under the name Al(l)ne—where ‘Alone’ meets ‘All One.’
This unique and meaningful track was written in 2017, inspired by Bassel Abou Fakher’s story as he fled war-torn Syria like many others. Their journey profoundly moved me and in my frustration at feeling powerless in the face of war, I poured my emotions into this song. However, the Ableton project mysteriously refused to open, leaving me with only an unfinished export and forcing the track into limbo.
As time passed, the song continued to haunt me. I occasionally attempted to revive it until I finally harnessed the power of AI to separate the tracks into different stems. This resurrection came with imperfections and sonic artifacts, creating a unique interpretation of the original export. Interestingly, the cello now eerily resembles a call to prayer, adding a haunting depth to this massive electronic dance track, filled with strings and percussion. The piece reflects the struggle of broken lives trying to mend, embodying Adam Curtis’ words: “Hold on to this delicate balance of terror.”
The creation process itself serves as a metaphor for the challenges of interpreting information, reminiscent of how fake news can distort reality. The AI extracted what it believed were the drums, strings, and other elements from a single source, resulting in sometimes unexpected interpretations that I found beautiful and decided to embrace.
As a musician, I often feel powerless as I witness wars unfold around the world. I want to contribute, if this song could help even one child, I would feel that I had succeeded. Therefore, the release of this track goes along with fundraising where all proceeds will be going to the international humanitarian organization that supports child victims of war: War Child.
