Now twice  Grammy-nominated, Mercury Prize and BRIT Award–winning artist Arlo Parks unveils the latest taste of her forthcoming album Ambiguous Desire with the new single Get Go. Premiered as BBC Radio 1's Hottest Record, the track sees Parks weaving her signature poetic lyricism over energetic London pirate radio-inspired breakbeats, paying homage to the early rebels of the airwaves while recounting the story of someone surrendering to the thrill of the night.

Following recent singles Heaven and 2SIDED, both of which will also feature on the new album, due 3rd April via Transgressive Records, Get Go captures the stories of the nocturnal characters you only ever see at night in the club. The song paints a vivid portrait of a perpetually heartbroken reveller, moving through the night as the music pulses and the stories of the club unfold. In Arlo's words, "Get Go perfectly encapsulates the sense of melancholy euphoria at the center of the record. It's about the dance floor as a means of healing, understanding yourself and discovering your relationship to love."

That club-rooted energy runs throughout Ambiguous Desire. Over the past two years, Arlo dove headfirst into nocturnal spaces where she could be whoever she wanted. She drew inspiration from the queer hedonism of NYC's Paradise Garage to the moody nocturnal British beats of The Streets and Burial, the glittering synth catharsis of LCD Soundsystem, and rooted house grooves of Theo Parrish, losing herself on the dancefloor. The record is Parks at her most confident and experimental, supplanting live band sessions for modular synths, Ableton plugins and samplers that channel the frenetic, vibrant spaces she was immersed in, all while spotlighting the acclaimed poetry and lyricism she's beloved for.

Reflecting on the making of the record, Parks shares, "I danced more than ever as I made this record, I made more friends than ever too, found myself in the weird underbelly of New York juke nights, unleashed, laughed and laughed and laughed. This record has desire at its center. Desire is a life force, it's a wanting, a yearning, a momentum - we are all alive because there is something or someone we want - desire is an engine. But it is also mysterious, tangled, random, enlightening and HUMAN."

Parks crafted the album with producer Baird (Brockhampton, Kevin Abstract). Their process unfolded between NYC's vibrant, community-rooted nightlife and long, introspective days spent in Baird's downtown loft. The result is Parks' most vulnerable, self-affirming, and euphoric work to date.

Bursting onto the scene with her distinct blend of raw lyrical self-expression and vivid vocal melody, Parks has since been nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album, won the Mercury Music Prize for her 2021 Gold-certified debut album Collapsed in Sunbeams, been named a Breakthrough Artist at the Brit Awards, and been nominated at the Ivor Novello Awards. A poet as much as a performer, Parks followed up her previous critically acclaimed album My Soft Machine (2023) with the debut of her first published book, The Magic Border, a collection of 20 new poems and exclusive images by Daniyel Lowden alongside lyrics from My Soft Machine.

Arlo is also a featured writer on Beyoncé's Grammy-winning album Cowboy Carter. Arlo has performed at Glastonbury and Coachella, opened for Billie Eilish and Harry Styles and captivated audiences across the world with her headline tour. Upon the release of previous album My Soft Machine Arlo performed on NPR Tiny Desk and appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Na een uitzonderlijk jaar zet Paradise City Festival zijn koers voort richting de elfde editie, die plaatsvindt op 26, 27 en 28 juni 2026 in de tuinen van Kasteel Ribaucourt in Steenokkerzeel, België. Vandaag maakt het duurzame festival zijn volledige line-up voor 2026 bekend en voegt het de laatste namen toe aan een programma dat opnieuw bruggen slaat tussen generaties, genres en scenes binnen de hedendaagse elektronische muziek.

Gent Punk Fest viert 50 jaar punk op zaterdag 2 mei 2026 in De Centrale, Gent
Op zaterdag 2 mei wordt De Centrale in Gent het epicentrum van rauwe energie, scherpe gitaren en compromisloze attitude tijdens Gent Punk Fest. Het festival brengt een krachtige line-up samen ter ere van 50 jaar punk en dat jubileum wordt gevierd met een affiche die zowel pioniers als nieuwe namen een podium geeft.

Blikvanger van de avond is zonder twijfel The Kids, de legendarische Belgische punkband die zelf eveneens 50 jaar bestaat. Met klassiekers die al generaties punkfans hebben beïnvloed, bewijzen ze nog altijd waarom ze tot de absolute grondleggers van de Europese punkscene behoren.

Internationaal geweld komt er van PizzaTramp uit Wales. Deze band staat bekend om zijn ultrasnelle, compromisloze punk vol humor, frustratie en pure energie, een live-reputatie die hen tot publieksfavorieten op Europese punkfestivals heeft gemaakt.

Ook Mise*En*Scene heeft iets te vieren: de band blaast 30 kaarsjes uit en doet dat zoals het hoort: met een intens en energiek feestje.

Daarnaast staat Nixnut voor een bijzonder moment: hun allereerste optreden ooit. 

De affiche wordt verder compleet gemaakt door Killed By Hippies, Summerintibet en Two Fingers Up, bands die elk hun eigen interpretatie van hedendaagse punk meebrengen en zo het festival een brede, maar altijd compromisloze sound geven.

Na twee uitverkochte concerten in Ancienne Belgique en De Roma in 2025, trekken de Schotten van Mogwai in 2026 alle registers open voor een heel bijzonder jubileum. De band viert zijn 30-jarig bestaan en is van plan om dat groots aan te pakken. De post-rockers trekken opnieuw de baan op met hun 'Mogwai 30'-tour en nodigen hun Belgische fans uit op vrijdag 13 november 2026 in de prestigieuze Henry Le Bœuf-zaal van Bozar in Brussel.

Mogwai werd in 1995 opgericht in Glasgow en bestaat uit Stuart Braithwaite (gitaar en zang), Barry Burns (gitaar, piano, synthesizer en zang), Dominic Aitchison (bas) en Martin Bulloch (drums). Sinds de release van hun allereerste single "Tuner" in 1996 op hun eigen label 'Rock Action Records', en van hun eerste album 'Young Team' in 1997, bouwde de band een ijzersterke internationale reputatie op. Vandaag worden ze wereldwijd beschouwd als een van de steunpilaren van de Britse undergroundscene. Hun indrukwekkende discografie dwingt niet alleen respect af bij collega-muzikanten, maar leverde hen ook een enorm trouw publiek op. Mogwai blijft even gepassioneerd en innovatief als op de eerste dag. Dit bewezen ze onlangs nog met 'As The Love Continues' (2021). Dat album schoot naar de eerste plaats in de Britse hitlijsten, werd genomineerd voor de Mercury Prize en won de Scottish Album of the Year Award. Inmiddels hebben de Schotten talloze tournees en elf studioalbums op hun teller staan. Ook hun meest recente plaat 'The Bad Fire', die vorig jaar verscheen, is een schot in de roos bij zowel critici als het grote publiek. Die populariteit is ook in België voelbaar, waar de groep de ene na de andere zaal moeiteloos uitverkocht.

ESNS CELEBRATES IRISH MUSIC SCENE IN 2027
Showcase festival and music conference puts focus on Ireland

ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) announced that Ireland will take center stage at the 2027 edition. Every year, the festival highlights the best-emerging acts from a European country, showcasing the diversity of musical talent across Europe. In close cooperation with Ireland’s leading music organisation First Music Contact and Irish radio station RTÉ 2FM as media partner, ESNS curates a programme that celebrates Irish music success from 13 to 16 January in Groningen. By putting its focus on Ireland, ESNS acknowledges Ireland’s investment in their artists and forward-thinking infrastructure as best practice. 

It is the second time in the history of ESNS that the festival and conference are highlighting  talent and topics from Ireland. After 15 years ESNS, First Music Contact and RTÉ 2FM feel it is  the right momentum to put the spotlight on the Emerald Isle again. First Music Contact runs the  annual showcase event Ireland Music Week, and the Irish Music export office, Music From Ireland. RTÉ 2FM is part of Ireland's national broadcaster RTÉ.

After showcasing at ESNS, their  chances of getting booked at major European festivals increased by enrolling in ESNS's  Exchange programme.

30 years on from the first release by Mogwai and their self-owned and run label Rock Action Records, the band today announce a run of European and Scottish dates for November 2026, and release a new video for that debut single 'Tuner,' featuring previously unseen footage dating back three decades.

ROCKACT01, Mogwai's 'Tuner/Lower' 7", was released in March 1996 by Rock Action Records. To mark the anniversary, Mogwai today release a new video for 'Tuner,' featuring rare and unseen footage dating back from the time of its release up to the present day, produced and edited by longtime collaborator and director of Mogwai: If The Stars Had A Sound, Antony Crook.

While it may have originally started as a way for the band to release their own music, Rock Action, like the band that birthed it, has continued to grow and thrive, and has since become a successful home for a diverse range of artists, whilst remaining fiercely independent.

From the very beginning the label has operated with an ethos that not only reflects the independent spirit of its owners but chimes with the DIY scene that has defined Glasgow through the eras, and made it one of the most celebrated musical cities in the world.

Rock Action has gone on to release more than 150 records from local and international artists, and supported notable Scottish independent acts including Arab Strap, The Twilight Sad, Kathryn Joseph, Cloth, Sacred Paws, Errors and Remember Remember.

Over 30 years and 11 studio albums - using brute sonic force mixed with subtlety and grace - Mogwai have defined their own musical genre and built a loyal following by staying true to their sound and true to their roots. Their tenth studio album As The Love Continues was their first to reach number 1 on the UK Official Albums Chart, whilst also garnering a Mercury Prize nomination and winning the Scottish Album of the Year award.

The band today announce a run of shows in Europe this November, culminating in two special hometown shows at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall. The tour follows a summer of festival dates and one-off shows across the world, including a just announced special performance at the Sydney Opera House for Vivid Festival on 23 May with Melbourne and Brisbane shows to be announced soon. Before then, the band play the Royal Albert Hall this month for the Teenage Cancer Trust, curated by The Cure's Robert Smith. A Scottish colloquialism for Hell, The Bad Fire draws inspiration from a series of tough personal moments that the band found themselves in following on from their chart-topping tenth album, 2021's As The Love Continues. The band continued to work through this, leading to the creation of The Bad Fire: a collection of songs that forgo nostalgia and easy victories, once again finding Mogwai pushing forward with some of the most beautiful and explosive songs of their career.
