SABLE, fABLE Arrives April 11th on Jagjaguwar

With the release of two new singles, Bon Iver stretches out a hand and brings listeners further into the love story of SABLE, fABLE. Out April 11th on Jagjaguwar, the project’s first album in six years is a tale of one person becoming two. As SABLE,’s darkness gives way to fABLE’s radiant light, pain turns to purpose and possibility, stark reflections set the table for vibrant pop music, and feelings of desolate, depressed solitude transform into deep and devoted sensuality.

If SABLE, is the prologue, then fABLE’s book recently opened with “Everything Is Peaceful Love,” the portrait of a man overwhelmed with happiness upon meeting a future partner. “Walk Home” takes the next step, where in a moment of sex and irrepressible desire, “we don’t need no window curtains,” sings Justin Vernon, basking in a salmon-colored glow. “We can let the light come in, we can shed your earthly burdens.” But fables are not interested in happy endings, and on “If Only I Could Wait,” a duet between Justin Vernon and Danielle Haim, two voices intertwine to illustrate the weariness that can follow the joyous flood of new love, when one may no longer have the strength to be the best version of themselves.

Produced by Justin Vernon and Jim-E Stack, SABLE, fABLE was primarily recorded at Vernon’s April Base in Wisconsin, after years that the studio spent laying dormant during a renovation. While SABLE,’s triptych of songs was made at a breaking point – reflecting a chapter of fear, atonement and sadness – fABLE is a canvas for the vibrant clarity, focus, healing and celebration that comes with infatuation, when one’s eyes are locked with another’s. The conceptual genesis for the album, however, occurred on 2.22.22, when Stack arrived at the Base with Danielle Haim. Snowed in for multiple days, Haim suddenly gave voice to the crucial and sacred perspective that unfolds on “If Only I Could Wait.” Justin Vernon says:
“For the second look into fABLE, it couldn’t be a single; it had to be a double. First, ‘Walk Home’ is a romp where you can’t wait to pull your clothes off fast enough and jump inside bed with your one true lover. And then – the two of singles – ‘If Only I Could Wait.’ A duet. A bilateral crying question. How long can the two of us hang on to each other?”

In addition to the lyric videos for “If Only I Could Wait” and “Walk Home,” and the music video for “Everything Is Peaceful Love” that was directed by filmmaker John Wilson (of HBO’s How To with John Wilson), Bon Iver introduced these latest two songs via live-stream this week. Yesterday, from a trail camera feed called In Such A Small Time Frame – which Justin Vernon quietly set up in the trees of Wisconsin last October, and has been using to send messages to viewers ever since - "Walk Home" soundtracked an intimate connection between a couple atop a Floyd bed in the woods. Then, Vernon introduced "If Only I Could Wait" with a routine of original choreography, long inspired by the single.

As you all know by now this will be the final edition of this awesome indoor festival…..Here you have the line-up for 2025.

Wildfest was born out of a shared passion and love for a specific type of music, providing a platform for both veteran bands, newcomers and honestly, bands we personally adore. Our genuine love for this music genre has united people each year and we couldn’t have been prouder about our journey. Although it is bittersweet to announce the end, we are encouraged by the fact that we’ve seen an increase in festivals and interest from mainstream events that continue to support these bands, thereby expanding the scene.

While some may view this as unfortunate news, we look back with pride on our past editions where we collectively learned and grew as an organisation. Who could have imagined in 2016 that we’d be hosting bands like Tyketto, H.E.A.T., Ted Poley and many more on our modest stage in Geraardsbergen? And who would have thought that each year 100s of people from all over the world would come to our little town in Belgium! All in celebration of music.

Join us one final time for a celebration of music, debauchery, and true appreciation for glam, sleaze and melodic hard rock on Friday 23rd of May and Saturday 24th of May 2025. Our last line up includes only bands that have already graced us with their presence at Wildfest on one of the previous editions.

'Cherokee Louise', de tweede single van het aankomende album 'Erudite' van Thomas Decock, is een meeslepende herinterpretatie van Joni Mitchell's klassieker. Het stuk begint met een melodie in een 5/4 maatsoort, gevolgd door een expressieve pianosolo en een open passage die rijke sonische landschappen verkent. De open passage vloeit over in een collectieve improvisatie tussen saxofoon en gitaar, waarna de melodie terugkeert. Deze interpretatie als moderne jazz-fusion benadrukt de emotieve en verkennende geest van de band, geïnspireerd door de aangrijpende teksten van het nummer, die een diep emotionele basis vormen.

'Rodya', de eerste single van het album combineert moderne jazzfusion met de psychologische diepgang en intensiteit van Dostojevski's meesterwerk 'Misdaad en Straf'. De track bevat een hoekig, beklemmend thema, een dynamische synthsolo en een climax met een gitaarsolo die de innerlijke worsteling van de protagonist weerspiegelt. Met verfijnde melodieën en gedurfde improvisaties zet 'Rodya' de toon voor een album waar literatuur en muziek samenkomen om iconische personages tot leven te brengen.

“Thomas Decock is een jazzgitarist met een melodieuze soft touch die nooit de neiging voelt om te imponeren. Hij dient virtuoos de composities en het samenspel. Ritmisch en lichtvoetig, levenslustig en verhalend. De muziek van Thomas is rijk gearrangeerd maar raakt nooit in ademnood. Hij vult je van teen tot kop en doet je dromen daarbovenop.”

Thomas Decock, een veelzijdige gitarist en componist, studeerde af aan de gerenommeerde Luca School of Arts (voormalig Lemmensinstituut) en het Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen. Zijn artistieke reis is gekenmerkt door een constante zoektocht naar muzikale diepgang en diversiteit.

In 2016 bracht Thomas zijn debuutalbum 'Light Travelers' uit, een akoestisch jazzalbum dat tot stand kwam in samenwerking met topmuzikanten Alex Koo, Steven Delannoye, Martijn Vanbuel en de Duitse drummer Martin Krümmling. Het album werd geprezen om zijn verfijnde composities en de intense chemie tussen de muzikanten.

Thomas’ nieuwsgierigheid bracht hem ook buiten de grenzen van de jazz. Met de band Shoreline Collective maakte hij een uitstap naar hiphop en pop, wat resulteerde in de EP 'Conquest'. Tijdens de coronaperiode verschoof zijn focus naar muziekproductie. Hij werkte samen met singer-songwriter Nir Shemmer aan de EP 'Camarillo Rain', waarvoor hij de volledige productie voor zijn rekening nam. Deze samenwerking leidde tot een intieme en gelaagde muzikale ervaring die in 2024 verscheen.

In datzelfde jaar begon Thomas een bijzondere samenwerking met gitarist Artan Buleshkaj. Hun duoalbum 'Plain Songs', een mix van country en americana, werd enthousiast ontvangen en bekroond als een van de 10 beste jazzalbums van 2024 door Knack Focus magazine.

Sinds 2023 leidt Thomas opnieuw een quintet, waarmee hij het album 'Erudite' heeft gerealiseerd. Deze moderne jazzfusionplaat combineert akoestische en elektronische elementen om een eigentijdse en grensverleggende sound te creëren. Het project weerspiegelt Thomas’ liefde voor literatuur en is een creatieve ode aan intrigerende literaire personages. Release datum van full album 'Erudite': 11 april 2025.

Met zijn brede muzikale ervaring en voortdurende drang tot vernieuwing blijft Thomas Decock een belangrijke stem in de hedendaagse jazz- en muziekscene.

Genre-bending Tropical Fuck Storm announces their highly anticipated fourth album, ‘Fairyland Codex,’ out June 20th, 2025, on their new label home Fire Records. Recorded with co-producer Michael Beach at the band’s Dodgy Brothers studio in Nagambie, Australia, the songs on ‘Fairyland Codex’ immerse us in the chaos of a fateful landslide, picking out the characters that litter the impending collapse of society.
Tropical Fuck Storm formed when guitarist and vocalist Gareth Liddiard and bassist and vocalist Fiona Kitschin’s previous band, The Drones, went on hiatus in 2016. Joined by guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Erica Dunn and drummer Lauren Hammel, the group has released a string of critically acclaimed albums and gained a reputation for their incendiary live shows.
Acidic, acerbic, anarchic; Tropical Fuck Storm's command of wordplay, undercut by snarling guitars, pulsing rhythms, and explosive salvos, populates a hinterland between light and dark. The vocal interplay between Liddiard and the soaring harmonies of Kitschin and Dunn creates a teetering balancing act that’s intensified by the frantic narratives that evolve from their collective psyche.
‘Goon Show’ channels Liddiard’s husky baritone, in a track that feels like a nightclub singer crash-landing into a dystopian post-grunge fever dream. Filled with well-schooled social anarchy ‘Bloodsport’ has a Talking Heads-styled funk and a stuttering guitar break. ‘Dunning Kruger’s Loser Cruiser’ is a classic overestimation of knowledge with a ranting preacher highlighted over a disenfranchised choir of would-be none believers and ‘Teeth Marché’ glints with gold tooth pleasantries before rhyming “bad luck” with “sick fuck”. All the while discordant love, and a promise of everlasting affection reverberate as they hitch up the audio equivalent of stepping on a rake.
“There’s an Anna Akhmatova poem where she talks about how much life sucks and how the world is just a shithole full of arseholes then she says something like, ‘why then do we not despair?’.” Liddiard pontificates, “Charles Darwin could give her the short answer, but music has the 12-inch metaphysical party mix solution.”

House Of Entertainment nrws - Jan Smit brengt naast Gert & James ook Hannah Mae mee naar het Sportpaleis

Op zaterdag 15 november 2025 staat Jan Smit, bekend van o.a. ‘Als de nacht verdwijnt’, ‘Vrienden voor het leven’ en ‘Als de morgen is gekomen’ met zijn liveband in het Antwerpse Sportpaleis. Anderhalve maand voor hij 40 wordt viert hij al een eerste keer zijn verjaardag. Het is de derde keer dat hij in de bekendste concerttempel van Vlaanderen staat voor een bijzondere avond die hij viert met enkele topartiesten. Naast zijn goede vrienden Gert (Verhulst) & James (Cooke), waarmee hij de hitsingles ‘Altijd’ en ‘Mooi Zo’ uitbracht, is ook Zomerhit-winnares Hannah Mae (‘Ik Wil Dat Je Liegt’) van de partij.

Met Hannah Mae strikte Jan Smit één van de meest beloftevolle singer-songwriters van de Lage Landen. Ze brak in 2019 door met ‘Back To You’ en haar succesvolle ‘Rode Draad’-tour, die sinds februari van dit jaar loopt, was al snel uitverkocht. Sinds 2012 presenteert Jan Smit ‘Beste Zangers, het Nederlandse origineel van onze ‘Liefde voor Muziek’, waar Hannah Mae vorig jaar aan deelnam. Ze bracht er o.a. een eigen, Nederlandstalige versie van ‘Here with you’ (Tangarine) en ‘Deze is voor jou’ (Matthijn Buwalda). Ze won vorig jaar met MAKSIM de Zomerhit in Vlaanderen met het duet ‘Ik Wil Dat Je Liegt’.

Gert Verhulst en James Cooke zijn twee rasentertainers die tijdens hun gemeenschappelijke programma ‘Gert Late Night’ ‘Echte Vrienden’ werden van Jan Smit. Toen Jan een week op hun boot de Evanna logeerde ontstond ‘Altijd’, de eerste single die ze als trio uitbrachten. Later kwam er nog een vervolg met ‘Mooi Zo’. Wanneer de drie kameraden samen zijn, ontstaat er een bijzondere chemie en een ongekend plezier dat ze moeiteloos overbrengen op het publiek.

‘Jan Smit – Live in het Sportpaleis 2025’ wordt op zaterdag 15 november een uniek verjaardagsfeest dat je echt niet mag missen. L.A. Witch emerged from the booming Southern California rock underground with a sound that fuses retro psychedelia and fearless dark-wave. Today, the band announces a new full-length, DOGGOD, out April 4, 2025 via Suicide Squeeze Records. The album was recorded in Paris, and finds the band expanding the limits of their formula while pondering spiritual themes of love and devotion. L.A. Witch has also shared the single "777," which emphasizes the band's ability to blend drive and dreaminess. The song is equal parts hazy and visceral, offsetting punk guitars and a motorik groove peppered with guitar harmonics. The end result is as sun faded as it is spunky.
On the track, member Sade Sanchez shares: "A part of the energy in our new album is a result to being able to record in a different city that we all love, which is so different from home. Recorded at Motorbass studios in Paris, 777 is considered to be an “angel” number. It's a song about the willingness to die for love in the process of serving it or suffering for it. It’s about loyalty to the very end. Filled with chorus and guitar dive, it was one of our favorite songs to record and we can’t wait to play it live.”


L.A. Witch have always exuded an aura of effortless cool, whether it manifested as the Americana noir and laconic back-to-basics rock n’ roll of their self-titled debut or the blistering austere adventurism of their sophomore album Play With Fire. The band—comprised of Sade Sanchez (guitar/vocals), Irita Pai (bass), and Ellie English (drums)—began as an informal affair, but the sultry and beguiling reverb-draped songs they created caught on with the public, moving the project beyond the insular space of the band’s friends and peers in Southern California into the broader world. On their latest album, DOGGOD, the trio push their craft beyond their previous creative and geographical confines, opting to craft the material in Paris, recording the tracks at Motorbass Studio on the Rue de Martyrs. DOGGOD explores broader swaths of sonic terrain, employs a greater arsenal of tones, and probes larger existential and cosmic themes, all while retaining the band’s signature sense of the forbidden, the forsaken, and the foreboding.

DOGGOD is a way of tackling the universal riddle tangled in the spiritual nature of love and devotion. “I feel like I’m some sort of servant or slave to love,” says Sanchez. “There’s a willingness to die for love in the process of serving it or suffering for it or in search of it… just in the way a loyal, devoted servant dog would.” The album title is a palindrome fusing together DOG and GOD—an exaltation of the submissive and a subversion of the divine. It’s a nod to the purity of dogs and an acknowledgement of their unconditional love and protective nature that’s at odds with the various pejoratives associated with the species. “There is this symbolic connection between women and dogs that expresses women’s subordinate position in society,” Sanchez explains. “And anything that embodies such divine characteristics never deserved to be a word used as an insult.”

These conflicted explorations of love and subservience manifest themselves in L.A. Witch’s fusion of their trademark smooth and smoky garage alchemy with a newfound utilization of post-punk’s disciplined reserve and icy instrumentation. Album opener “Icicle” captures the band journeying out of the proto-punk, psychedelia, and gritty riffage of the ‘70s into the chorus-drenched guitars and forlorn minimalism of Joy Division and early The Cure. A parallel is drawn between romantic suicide and martyrdom that carries over into the second song, “Kiss Me Deep.” Here Sanchez describes a love so pure that it transcends time and carries over into multiple lifetimes. It’s a song about passion delivered in the worldly and wounded stoicism of early goth pioneers. From there, the band segues into the lead single “777,” a song about devotion to the point of death. A propulsive beat, a driving distorted riff, and Sanchez’s ethereal vocals come together to create a song that’s both dire in its fatalism and sensual in its faithful passion.

Across the entirety of DOGGOD, L.A. Witch never strays from their muse. On “I Hunt You Pray,” Pai lays down a hypnotic bass throb while English employs a cyclical krautrock groove and Sanchez paints a picture of an abandoned dog on the roadside, alone in the night, living as both the hunter and the hunted. On “Eyes of Love,” the band harnesses the meditative mid-tempo repetition, deconstructed chords, and esoteric ruminations on love, death, and spirituality that made Lungfish such a beloved entity. It reinforces the parallel between the unwavering love seen in the eyes of a dog and the self-sacrifice of a savior. On “The Lines,” the band takes the propulsive pulse of post-punk and adds an extra dose of chorus to the mix. “Chorus is a modern effect that comes from the idea of replicating the slight pitch discrepancies of a choir. There is a shimmering quality which ties us back into this spiritual godly feel,” Sanchez explains. Coupled with the addition of organ and applied to a brooding minor-key melody, the song simultaneously conjures both the holy and the sacrilegious. The title track “DOGGOD”bears perhaps the strongest resemblance to the material found on the previous album Play With Fire, pitting lean and mean guitars against a scrappy rhythm section and dreamy vocals. But whereas their previous album was a rallying cry to carving one’s own path, “DOGGOD” adheres to the album’s “til death do us part” theme, going so far as to describe a level of submission that crosses over into dangerous and unhealthy places, with Sanchez singing “hang me on a leash / ‘til I wait for my release.”

Ultimately, DOGGOD is a perfect encapsulation of L.A. Witch’s approach. It’s simultaneously romantic and menacing, reverent and profane, a celebration and a lament. It finds the thread between the past and present, taking familiar sounds and revamping them for the modern age. But it also heralds a new era for the band, looking beyond the Kodachrome memories of midcentury America and digging deeper into the medieval and gothic energies of Paris and beyond, all while probing inward at a sullied heart.
