WIEKELIEDJES zijn verfijnde luisterliedjes met een rauw randje. Ze nemen je mee naar een wereld die groot en klein is, lieflijk en rauw tegelijkertijd - met altijd wel een sluimerend en twijfelend verlangen naar de overkant. Wieke’s Nederlandstalige teksten worden door prachtige melodieën ondersteund en zijn ijzersterk: ze vangen het herkenbare gevoel van onbehagen, verlangen naar wat komt en heimwee naar wat was.

Korte biografie
Sinds 2024 heeft Wieke zich gestort op het schrijven van eigen liedjes en het laten horen van haar unieke stem. Eigenlijk datgene doen waar ze als kind al druk mee was: liedjes maken met haar gitaar. Toen nog à la Kurt Cobain. Nu à la zichzelf. Wieke speelde door het hele land en dat wierp zijn vruchten af: een vliegende start die leidde tot haar eerste avondvullende optredens in de Roode Remise en het Torpedo Theater. Nu is het tijd voor de release van haar EP ‘En ik overdrijf’ in Theater Kikker - een muzikale reis over worden wie je dacht dat je wilde zijn. Op 22 maart 2026 zal de EP-release in Theater Kikker plaatsvinden.

If anything could be called Borokov Borokov's formula, it probably would be derived from the following quote: "First and foremost we make music that we ourselves want to dance to. Even when the music in question does not immediately sound like dance music."
The result may resemble for example angular synth pop, ... work incapacitated hi-NRG, krauttrock with a double 't', supra-freudian elektrapunk, birthday-themed acid house, no-no wave, polyphonic panic attacks or multilingual lamentation. As if with each track, the band seizes a new opportunity to waltz out of the confines of its own straitjacket, albeit with no guarantee of success. By the way, they found their first drum machine on a rubbish dump in Borsbeek.

De Parijse singer-songwriter Aure luidde enkele weken geleden een nieuw hoofdstuk in met het vervolg op haar EP ‘A Few Notes’ (‘The Line’, ‘Dans La Plaine’, ‘Suddenly’), die precies twee jaar geleden uitkwam. Na het intieme voorproefje ‘The Sailors' Tales’ volgt vandaag ‘Mi Corazón’, de eerste sleuteltrack uit haar aankomende debuutalbum ‘Printemps’, dat verschijnt op 20 maart 2026.

De dromerige, jazzy folkballad ‘Mi Corazón’ onderstreept de intieme signatuur van Aure en is voornamelijk in het Frans geschreven. Gaandeweg vloeien drie talen – Frans, Engels en Spaans – in elkaar over, zoals ook herinneringen en emoties door elkaar beginnen te lopen na een breuk.

“Het nummer kwam voort uit de behoefte om die drie talen te laten rijmen – als drie facetten van één persoonlijkheid, drie fases van één leven – en zo de verwarring van gevoelens na een relatiebreuk uit te drukken,” legt Aure uit.

Aure opent nu vrijdag ons labelpodium op het Parijse showcasefestival MaMA, in de iconische zaal Les Trois Baudets op Montmartre. Na haar spelen Dressed Like Boys en Ão.

shitfruit is het soloproject van Michiel De Maeseneer. Vanuit de erfenis van het Belgische surrealisme transformeert hij persoonlijke verhalen en levensveranderingen tot aanstekelijke melodieën en beklijvende songs. Het resultaat is een eigenzinnige mengeling van introspectie en lichtvoetigheid, altijd balancerend tussen poëtische observatie en popgevoeligheid.

Met het nieuwe album ‘Starts With a Flower’ bundelt shitfruit opnieuw een reeks nummers die de zoektocht naar liefde, verlies, verandering en zelfreflectie verkennen. Van de dromerige klanken van 'For Who You Are' en het broeierige 'Aisla' tot het introspectieve 'On Repeat' en de fragiele schoonheid van 'Flowers on the Table Top'. Elk nummer vormt een venster op een moment van overgang: soms rauw, soms troostend, maar altijd eerlijk en beginnend bij zichzelf.

De songs bewegen moeiteloos van akoestische intimiteit over ritmische gedrevenheid, met melodieën die blijven hangen en teksten die ruimte laten voor interpretatie, zodat elke luisteraar er zijn of haar eigen verhaal in kan terugvinden.

LAWIJSTRIJD, het legendarische muziekconcours van het Waasland is terug in een samenwerkingsverband van De Casino Concertzaal, Lokerse Feesten, Crammerock en jeugdhuizen Den Eglantier (De Nest), De Cramme en Okapi. AFTRAP: Drie spots worden vrijgehouden voor jonge talenten uit de buurt die hun kans willen wagen om op één van onze podia te spelen die dag. Zij ontvangen naast podiumervaring en eeuwige roem ook catering en drankbonnen voor een dolle avond. Concreet zijn we op zoek naar allround dj’s, maar ook dj’s en live acts uit de hardere en experimentele elektronische genres zijn welkom met hun inzendingen.
De Tijdloze: Tijd voor 90: De Tijdloze en De Casino slaan jaarlijks de handen in elkaar om het muziekrepertoire van de gouden jaren negentig te vieren. Ontstaan als eindejaarslijst op Studio Brussel en na 35 jaar uitgegroeid tot een muzikaal begrip, vervelde De Tijdloze (100) in 2018 tot een onafhankelijk online radiokanaal (VRT MAX / DAB+) waar onder meer Stijn Van De Voorde (For Those About To Rock) en Roos Van Acker (Jouw Tijdloze Ochtenradio) de pop- en rockgeschiedenis alle eer aandoen. Liefhebbers van nostalgische hits kunnen sindsdien afstemmen op deze volwassen geworden digitale stream om er vierentwintig uur per dag, zeven dagen per week de beste klassiekers te beluisteren.
GREAT GIGS IN THE PARK Tien extraordinaire concertavonden De Casino Concertzaal en het stadsbestuur Sint-Niklaas presenteren een derde editie van Great Gigs in the Park. Deze reeks openluchtconcerten, die plaatsvinden in de feeërieke setting van het historische Casino Park (DC terras), wordt dit jaar gespreid over drie weken (van woensdag 14 juni tot donderdag 6 juli) en bundelt in die periode tien extraordinaire openluchtshows op de Casino[1]kiosk. Gezelligheid is het codewoord tijdens Great Gigs in the Park, want voor elk concertavonden worden slechts 600 tickets aangeboden. Programma De line-up van Great Gigs in the Park biedt een staalkaart van waar de Casino voor staat, zijnde een veelheid aan uiteenlopende muziekgenres: van hardrock en post-metal over elektrofunk en groove tot roots en droompop. runo plum has been writing and quietly sharing bedroom dispatches of her intricate folk for a half-decade. The Minneapolis-based singer and songwriter steadily caught the ears of a widening circle of listeners during the pandemic years, and soon began independently releasing a series of singles and EPs that landed her tours supporting Angel Olsen, Searows and Hovvdy, and recently saw her booked for Pitchfork London and Paris in the fall.

Last month, runo announced her signing to Winspear (Wishy, Slow Pulp, Teethe), and today she is back to announce her debut LP, an album called patching that the label will release on November 14th.

The intimate debut LP gracefully captures the contraction, expansion and release of an intense period of emotional repair, in soft-edged, radiating indie rock. Inspired by a breakup and subsequent healing process, patching is a sonic journey as much as an emotional one. Whether it be longing for friendship, social anxiety, hypochondria spirals, or coming home to a box of stuff from your ex, the album oscillates from rumination to little glimmers of joy to closure and eventually, falling in love all over again.

Together with collaborator, instrumentalist and girlfriend Noa Francis, runo and her co-producer Lutalo recorded the album in a cabin in rural Vermont over the course of two weeks. Centering the honeyed, time-worn timbre of a centenarian acoustic guitar and the easeful warmth of runo’s voice, the trio began putting together the pieces one by one. “It was just flowing,” runo says. “Every song is an emotional fragment during my healing process patched together into one project, while I was also patching myself together in real time. You can feel the damage, but also the repair. The slowing down in order to move forward, and the dreaming of a time where I’m finally free from the dread.”

Buoyed by a conversational, propulsive melody, album opener “Sickness” deals in unhealthy cycles and mundanity. Underbellied by anxiety, it soars and sears, piecing day to day tableaus together with runo’s knack for introspection.

"This song could be taken in many ways, literally or metaphorically. It’s about falling ill of many kinds, the common cold, perhaps lovesickness, but whatever it may be: you heal through it. This was the first song we worked on, and it came together really seamlessly."

Imarhan, the Tuareg desert blues innovators hailing from Algeria, today announce their bold fourth album, Essam, for release on 16 January 2026 via City Slang. The announcement is joined by the hypnotic lead single/video, "Derhan N'Oulhine" ("What The Heart Desires").

Since their formation in 2006, Imarhan - guitarist and vocalist Iyad Moussa Ben Abderahmane (Sadam), bassist Tahar Khaldi, guitarists Hicham Bouhasse and Abdelkader Ourzig, and percussionist Haiballah Akhamouk - have continually reshaped perceptions of Tuareg music. Building on the foundations of assouf (the desert blues sound made globally known by Tinariwen and Mdou Moctar), the group fuse ancient poetry and rhythm with funk, psychedelia, and pan-African groove to create something both timeless and urgently modern.

With Essam - meaning "lightning" in the Tuareg language Tamasheq - the band make their most daring leap yet. Recorded at their Aboogi Studio in the heart of Tamanrasset in southern Algeria and produced by longtime collaborator Maxime Kosinetz with some additional production by Emile Papandreou of French duo UTO, the album introduces electronic textures, expansive production and a newfound intimacy. Local artists and friends joined the sessions, contributing handclaps and vocals, heard on the evocative opening track whose intimate production signals Imarhan's new sound. Women from Tamanrasset also participated, honouring their historic role in Tuareg music - through instruments like imzad and tinde, the latter featured on the album track, "Assagasswar." Their presence is especially meaningful given the growing challenges women face in southern Algeria.

Essam carries the pulse of its surroundings: clapping friends, echoing voices, and a sense of shared space, culminating in a sweeping statement of identity and evolution. "We tried something we'd never done before; we took some risks," says Sadam. "Music allows us the freedom to try new things."

The lead single, "Derhan N'Oulhine", showcases this fearless experimentation, blending desert-rock roots with subtle electronic textures and folk motifs, anchored by a blues-inflected guitar that occasionally bursts into resonant riffs. Its accompanying video, directed by Elsa Pennachio on 8mm Bolex, mirrors the album's creation: traditional techniques and analogue processing produce a hybrid, timeless aesthetic. Film overprints, modular synth effects, and live recordings reflect both the beauty and tension of Tuareg life, caught between heritage and global modernity.

Elsewhere on Essam, Imarhan explore displacement, belonging and resilience, shaped by recent upheavals across the Sahara, from pandemic years to political instability along the Algerian-Mali border. "The refugees, the suffering, the hope - we feel all of it" says Sadam. "But life is beautiful, even in its darker moments." Their connection to togetherness and community remains central: Aboogi Studio doubles as a cultural and creative hub, nurturing young artists and preserving Tuareg traditions. "Aboogi is like a music school. We've tried to come up with ideas to help people who don't have the means to travel, to help them record some music."

Imarhan's collaboration with Damon Albarn on a stripped-back version of "Derhan N'Oulhine" for Africa Express Presents… Bahidorá (2025) hints at their growing global reach - and underscores their boundaryless approach to sound.

Ultimately, Essam is both an evolution and a homecoming. It's the sound of Tuareg music unbound, rooted in the desert, yet alive in the world.

TYLER, THE CREATOR PROGRAMMÉ EN OUVERTURE DE ROCK EN SEINE 2026 !

Le mercredi 26 août, Tyler, The Creator, le rappeur le plus doué de sa génération, sera la première tête d’affiche de la prochaine édition de Rock en Seine. Ce Californien a pris son envol avec un premier album solo en 2009, puis tout s’est très vite enchaîné. Ardent défenseur d’un hip-hop aux idées larges, cofondateur du collectif Odd Future (dont ont fait partie Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt…), il ne cache pas son penchant pour les hybridations avec l’électro et le R’n’B, comme en témoigne l’épatant Don’t Tap the Glass, son neuvième album studio, dévoilé en juillet dernier.

Ce dernier opus et Chromakopia, album sorti en 2024, se sont directement propulsés en tête des charts américains dès leur sortie. Le précédent, Call Me If You Get Lost (2021) a raflé le Grammy Award du meilleur album de rap. Ces quelques indices suggèrent que Tyler, The Creator n’a rien d’un rappeur lambda.

Sa performance, unique concert en France pour l’année 2026, sera le point d’orgue de cette première journée de l’édition 2026.
