Expect the unexpected and lean into a musical odyssey that conjures sounds of the netherworlds and intertwines old primordial knowledge with avant-garde pop music, screaming metal, folk music and immersive electronic soundscapes; From the beautiful and haunting ambient landscapes of “Windharp”, the Norwegian folk dance inspired track “Hallingen , the self-collected ghost stories which inspired “Kwaidan”, the genuine joyfulness of “Whispering Forest, Echoing Mountains” and “The Ritual” - a song inspired by a raw shamanistic ritual that Sturle once found himself engaged in.

Armed with a brigade of instruments the two multiinstrumentalists are utilizing a wide array of different melodic instruments; including Nordic folk instruments like Nyckelharpa and goat horns, to Chinese Guzheng, West-African Kora, Marxophone, Fula flute, Hungarian Cimbalom, Waterphone and dozens of different folk instruments that they have gathered during their travels. The soundscape is pushed further blending them with distorted imperfect sounds, synthesizers and custom made electronics. Although mostly recorded in their hometown of Stavanger, where the brothers have their studio, they put together different segments of the album in different locations across the world absorbing the various landscapes to inspire the record; these ranged from remote cabins in the Norwegian mountaintops to abandoned industrial estates, retired Soviet Navy ships in Eastern Europe, Villages in Uganda and in a desolated clocktower during a snowstorm on the Faroe Islands. These untraditional and often enchanting recording environments breathe into the album’s rich tapestry . The duo’s artistic creations encompass several genres; both the tranquil and intimate “Drifter” as well as the shamanistic performance of “Galdring”, a vehement musical expression fuelled by primal screams, ceremonial Sámi drums, wooden logs, bones, harps and distant cow horns before segueing into an intense blend of world music.

Early 2021 Sturle Dagsland released their first full-length album. Their debut won one of the prestigious Edvard Awards, honouring the best Norwegian albums of the year. Their sophomore album demonstrates the potent symbiosis of the two brothers, threading intricate melodies and sounds through their Norwegian roots, incorporating inspiration of both their indigenous ancestry, primal expressions, dreams, rituals, as well as imaginative and futuristic concepts.

After signalling their bold new chapter this summer with the explosive track 'NEVER AGAIN', Liverpudlian fourpiece STONE continue their return to their raw and direct essence with commanding new single 'MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO', out now via V2 Records. They have also announced the release of their second album 'AUTONOMY' on 20th February and a host of 2026 UK and European tour dates.

With their new album, the band were able to revel in the freedom they had to make the record they really wanted to create; a self-reflective and autonomous body of work that is an honest time capsule of life. Written during the aftermath of their first album, the band unified together to create their most collaborative, personal and real music yet - whilst learning to have fun again.

New single 'MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO' was the first track written for the album and confronts head-on the themes of self-control and perception vs reality. With metaphorical yet frank lyrics, commanding vocals and brash guitars, the track is a fast-paced assault on the senses.  The energetic and gritty video was filmed behind the scenes whilst on tour. Lead vocalist and guitarist Fin Power says,

"'MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO' is about temptation and the chaos of partying when control slips away. The birdy in your ear screams for more and the mirror only reflects something you do not want to see. The chant of 'MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO' captures that loss of control. Through sharp metaphors the song also reflects on the industry and the tension between authenticity and the image that media prefers. Chasing mice around the board and being a vampire both echo the restless soulless nights that come with the scene. This track is gritty, unfiltered and restless, pulling you into the madness of nights that feel endless."

STONE have built a loyal community with their fans through their wild and energy-driven live shows and their spontaneous, bursting at the seams house party performances. After a recent packed-out festival performance at Pukkelpop (and a post-show secret house party on a bus), this month sees them take their house parties on the road with four small sold-out shows in London, Newcastle, Manchester and Sheffield. They have also announced a headline 9-date UK and European tour in April 2026, kicking off in Glasgow on 4th April and ending in Paris on 17th April, with a show at London's Oslo on 8th April. Tickets go on general sale on Wednesday 22nd October at 10am. Full tour dates are as follows.

Na de betoverende clip van Amor staat TSAR B klaar om The Writer te onthullen, een album waarin passie en creatie samensmelten. Haar nieuwe album verschijnt op vrijdag 30 januari 2026 en wordt op 16 april in de Ancienne Belgique voorgesteld in het kader van een Europese tour.

In elf nummers verkent TSAR B de schaduwzones tussen liefde, obsessie en poëzie.
The Writer ontstond uit een waar gebeurd verhaal – een fascinatie voor de woorden van een onbekende schrijver, tot op het punt waar fictie en werkelijkheid samenvloeien.
Het is een intiem en levendig album, geschreven als een roman die je hardop zou lezen, een werk waarin elke klank een stukje passie lijkt te vertellen.

OVER TSAR B
Tsar B is een veelzijdige artieste: multi-instrumentalist, producer en componiste.
Opgeleid als klassiek violiste, veroverde ze de indie-scene vanaf de release van haar eerste solo-EP, die werd opgemerkt door The Fader, Noisey UK en de BBC.
Sindsdien bracht ze volledig onafhankelijk twee studioalbums en drie EP's uit, en bereidt ze de langverwachte release van haar nieuwe album voor, gepland voor begin 2026.
Als gegeerde componiste voor opera en film heeft Tsar B ook haar plaats veroverd in de danswereld: haar nummers weerklinken regelmatig in So You Think You Can Dance USA en in talloze internationale choreografieën. Op het Filmfestival in Gent presenteerde ze net de soundtracks van de openingsfilm Julian en de VRT-prestige serie This is not a murder mystery.

Grammy-winnaar D’Angelo overleden na strijd tegen pancreaskanker

R&B-zanger D’Angelo is overleden. Dat bevestigde de familie van de artiest in een statement aan ‘Variety’. “We zijn eeuwig dankbaar voor de nalatenschap van buitengewoon ontroerende muziek die hij achterlaat”, klinkt het onder meer. D’Angelo, die overleden is na een strijd tegen pancreaskanker, werd 51.

Even voorstellen – wilson55 & Justine Wolfs – single ‘noodlot’

Na een reeks Engelstalige releases slaat wilson55 een nieuwe weg in: vanaf nu volledig in het Nederlands. Hun eerste stap daarin is ‘noodlot’, een duet met Justine Wolfs. 

Het nummer zoekt een plek tussen Radiohead, Eefje de Visser en Wet Leg — dromerig, gelaagd en vol gevoel. ‘noodlot’ probeert het gevoel van thuiskomen te vatten, met die ene pijnlijke kanttekening: wat als je huis er niet meer staat?

Voor Justine Wolfs is dit haar tweede single, na haar debuut ‘hyperfixation’ eerder dit jaar. Voor het eerst zingt ze in het Nederlands, en dat doet ze samen met vrienden die ze al sinds de middelbare school kent. Het resultaat is een eerlijk, melancholisch duet over liefde, verlies en het vinden van je plek — zelfs als die niet meer hetzelfde voelt.

Even voorstellen – Cubzoa – Unfold in the sky

komt uit op 24 oktober 2025
Cubzoa is het solo-project van Jack Wolters, die bekend werd met de band Penelope Isles en de wereld over tourde als gitarist van CMAT. Zijn eigen werk is een mix van folk, electronica en bedroom-pop. Van zijn debuutalbum verschenen al de singles Choke en Barcelona verschenen, waarmee hij zijn diversiteit laat horen. Van de dream-pop op Choke tot de het uitstapje richting catchy psych-rock op Barcelona.

In november zal Cubzoa met Billy Nomates op tour gaan, waar ze ook Nederland, België en Luxemburg aan doen.

EDOUARD VAN PRAET & LOU K ONTHULLEN "CE QUE JVEUX"

EERSTE GEZAMENLIJKE EP "RoOM SERVICE" VERSCHIJNT DIT NAJAAR

Een jaar na zijn bejubelde debuutalbum Mascarades (geprezen in zowel het noorden als het zuiden van het land!) is onze favoriete Brusselse dandy Edouard van Praet terug. Dit keer bundelt hij zijn krachten met de getalenteerde Lou K voor ce que jveux – de catchy single van hun gezamenlijke EP, die dit najaar verschijnt.


De eerste smaakmaker ce que jveux, is een onweerstaanbare ontmoeting tussen de twee muzikale werelden van Lou K en Edouard van Praet. Met dreunende bassen en een dromerig universum vol betovering is het een wrede, vrolijke ode aan vergeten dromen. Perfect voor je herfstplaylist!

Na een druk jaar met een tournee in Canada, finalerondes bij zowel Humo's Rock Rally 2024 als Sound Track 2025 (met de grote finale op 21 december in de Ancienne Belgique!), en opvallende optredens in België en Frankrijk – waaronder Supersonic in Parijs en Francofaune – blijft Edouard van Praet grenzen verleggen. Altijd schrijvend, componeren, experimenterend: met deze nieuwe samenwerking toont hij nogmaals de veelzijdigheid van zijn talent.

Ook Lou K blijft niet stilzitten. Minder dan een jaar na haar debuutalbum L'obscurité zet de Brusselse artieste haar punknoise-avontuur verder, nu met contracten bij Kicking Music (Frankrijk) en Soluté Records (Canada). Haar explosieve liveshows en donkere, fuzzgedrenkte poëzie deden al denken aan PJ Harvey, Whispering Sons, Model/Actriz en Klo Pelgag. Vorig jaar stond ze onder meer op Pause Guitare, Phoque Off en Les Nuits Botanique tijdens de All Access-dag. Nieuwsgierig? Luister dan zeker naar Pas ta femme!
