News item - Hats Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate announce new album ‘Parallel Lives’
London-based progressive rock band Hats Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate have announced that their ninth studio album, ‘Parallel Lives’, will be on general release on 4 September 2026. Singer/song-writer/multi-instrumentalist Malcolm Galloway desctribes the phrase 'Parallel Lives' as referring to disconnection, both within ourselves, between our different or changing identities and social roles, and between each other. Alongside the directly personal songs, other songs on the album are sung from the perspective of characters from science fiction stories who are experiencing situations that undermine their sense of self-identity. Two of the songs were inspired by Philip K Dick novels, and one was inspired by an Alastair Reynolds novel.
Mark Gatland, bass guitarist/multi-instrumentalist and other half of Hats Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate explains that in contrast with their previous album, which explored the history of quantum physics, this album has a more personal and emotional focus.

Following on from the release of his last single Yeah (I'm In), much-loved, up-and-coming singer-songwriter Noonzy returns with details of his forthcoming debut album Plan Is Bad, set for release on October 2nd, via Play It Again Sam. The announcement arrives alongside the album's latest offering, Easy.
Reflecting on the new uptempo single, Noonzy says:
"What started out as a mellow demo in 3/4 (yes, a waltz!) turned into an uptempo 4/4 pop track. The intro still carries the character of what the demo used to be; there's a stillness in it, almost like a moment of pause where everything is allowed to exist without resistance. Hang like a willow."
"As we experimented with the rhythm, we found that the 4/4 version of the same musical idea had an undeniable energy. We didn't want to lose the character of the intro entirely though—it felt too important. That stillness is what makes the energy of the 4/4 hit the way it does, so instead of choosing between them, we found a way to bridge the two. As the track develops from the intro, a more rhythmic synth pattern and vocal harmonies are introduced, gently building momentum toward the 4/4. That shift leads into the central idea of the song: "only when you move." It's a turning point—a call to release everything you've been holding in. When the drums finally kick in, the track bursts into motion, almost like a train leaving the station."
Antwerp-based songwriter Noonzy (Arnaud Stockbroekx) began his music career in 2022 with his EP Post-it-tapes, featuring laid-back acoustic guitar tracks like idk, Spider Monkey, Awkward Feet and Let's See the World – which earned him a spot in the finals of De Nieuwe Lichting a year later. Since then, he has released a number of singles, which eventually made their way onto his 2025 EP Puppies ([PIAS] Recordings).
On this new material, Noonzy's style has evolved further into groovy electronic productions as he collaborates alongside renowned British producer Bullion (Ben Howard, Nilüfer Yanya), allowing his artistic identity to become increasingly distinct.
Noonzy brought a handful of existing demos to London, which gradually evolved into unexpected mixes and final versions. Blind trust in each other's ideas and a leap into the unknown gradually became the central theme: guitar songs were recorded without a guitar, entire verses vanished like snow in the sun, and tempos were constantly adjusted. Many of these choices were so-called lucky accidents, such as a drum machine that refused to accept the correct time signature and thus offered a whole range of alternatives.
He is embarking on a new path, bidding farewell to his former DIY, lo-fi indie approach and making room for experimentation and a loss of control within a pop format. The result is his very first studio album, Plan Is Bad.

Na podia over de hele wereld te hebben veroverd, kondigt Hermanos Gutiérrez een nieuwe internationale tournee aan: de 'Los Ojos Del Condor Tour'. Ze vliegen de hele wereld rond, maar houden gelukkig ook halt in ons land. Hun vele Belgische fans worden niet op één, maar op twee optredens getrakteerd! Dit najaar komt het Zwitsers-Ecuadoriaanse duo naar Brussel en Antwerpen betoveren met hun geweldige repertoire: op zaterdag 21 november 2026 in La Madeleine en op zondag 22 november in De Roma. Verwacht je aan twee warme, meeslepende avonden waarin je volledig opgaat in de filmische wereld van dit onweerstaanbare duo.
Hermanos Gutiérrez werd in 2015 in Zürich opgericht door de broers Estevan en Alejandro Gutiérrez. De voorbije jaren ontpopten ze zich tot een van de meest fascinerende muzikale projecten van het moment. Gedreven door een unieke mix van Latin, surfrock, folk en filmische westernmuziek, creëert het duo hypnotiserende composities waarin de gitaren met een zeldzame elegantie met elkaar in dialoog gaan. Sinds hun debuut bouwen de twee muzikanten album na album aan een diep spiritueel universum. Geïnspireerd door de klanken van het Latijns-Amerika van de jaren '50, nemen ze de luisteraar mee naar prachtige klanklandschappen. Na de lovende albums 'El Bueno y el Malo' (2022) en 'Sonido Cósmico' (2024), geproduceerd door Dan Auerbach, heeft Hermanos Gutiérrez definitief een nieuwe dimensie bereikt. Het duo speelt vandaag de ene uitverkochte show na de andere in alle uithoeken van de wereld, gedragen door een opzwepende energie en een steeds grotere fanbase. Op het podium is hun chemie magnetisch. Elk nummer wordt een kosmische reis vol woestijnwarmte, Latijns-Amerikaanse vibes en psychedelische hoogten. Twee niet te missen concerten op 21 november in Brussel en op 22 november in Antwerpen om de magie van Hermanos Gutiérrez live te beleven.

"HAHA (vrolijk lied)" is een lied met een onthullende titel: een plezant liedje! De zomerhit 2026 is nu al bekend!
Het is een nummer dat volledig draait op tegenstelling. De titel belooft lichtheid, het refrein houdt vol dat het om een vrolijk lied gaat, maar vrijwel elke zin daarbuiten vertelt een ander verhaal. De verwoorde gedachten zijn niet poëtisch verheven, maar worden heel lichamelijk en zelfs absurd voorgesteld.
Wat vooral blijft hangen, is hoe de muziek en tekst samen een ambigu gevoel oproepen. Je krijgt niet het idee dat het nummer uitsluitend grappig wil zijn, maar ook niet dat het een loodzware bekentenis is. Het bevindt zich ergens tussen satire, zelfspot en oprechte melancholie.

Singer-songwriter, producer, and cellist Kelsey Lu returns after seven years with her second album, So Help Me God, due for release on June 12. With the first singles, she introduces the sonic universe of the record, where electronic pulses, distorted guitars, choral vocals, and dark textures merge into a sound that feels both restrained and foreboding.
The album is produced by Lu alongside Jack Antonoff (The 1975, Taylor Swift) and Yves Rothman (FKA twigs, Yves Tumor), and mixed by Oli Jacobs (Kendrick Lamar). Lyrically and conceptually, the record explores themes of faith, desire, loss, and transformation. Beyond music, Lu also extends these ideas into a visual world as a designer and visual artist.

Artiest, producer en multi-instrumentalist Masego staat klaar om deze zomer zijn nieuwe album 'Fix Your Face' uit te brengen. Micah Davis, beter bekend als Masego, is een Amerikaans-Jamaicaanse artiest wiens werk de evolutie van zwarte muziek weerspiegelt. Hij combineert vernieuwende hedendaagse jazz met invloeden die diepgeworteld zijn in muzikale tradities. Als geboren verhalenverteller bouwt hij zijn nummers van nul op met behulp van zijn looppedaal, waarmee hij ritmes creëert die zowel eigentijds, als tijdloos klinken. Met bijna twee miljard streams wereldwijd en gouden en platina onderscheidingen op meerdere continenten heeft Masego zich gevestigd als een toonaangevende artiest. Ice Nine Kills heeft zich de voorbije jaren ontpopt tot een van de meest unieke namen binnen de moderne metalcore. Heather Nova will release her thirteenth studio album, 'The Orchard', in October 2026 via V2 Records. It is the follow-up to her successful 'Breath And Air', released early last year, which received a unanimously positive reception. The title track is also the first single.
Since her breakthrough in the early 1990s with the hit 'Walk This World' (from the album 'Oyster'), Nova has been consistently writing, recording and touring. 'The Orchard' adds a bright new chapter to her now extensive body of work.
The album is strong on melodies and rich in poetic imagery. The songs delve deep emotionally, but the prevailing feeling is one of hope, light and possibility — exactly what many listeners need in these turbulent times.
During the writing process, Nova realized that songs can be a form of manifestation: words sung on repeat while recording and performing take on a power much like mantras or prayers. "I wanted to be conscious of this as I wrote; Still mining the depths of emotion, as that is the job of the songwriter, but also being sure to tap into the light, and keeping in mind that whatever we do on repeat we embody".
The title track, released today, immediately sets the tone, with poetic, nostalgic and luminous imagery; It's a reflection on youthful innocence and wonder, and the idea that the vulnerability and joy we once felt is still alive within us, held in our cells. Through life's heartbreaks and disappointments we build protection and harden ourselves. But what if the sweetness is all still there, waiting to be uncovered? "Time is nothing to that sunlit heart."
The album was recorded last winter in London with producer Tim Bran. Nova chose Bran for his sensitivity to the emotion of a song, and his ability to create authentic, natural yet contemporary productions — work she admires in his projects with Haevn and London Grammar. Bran produced and mixed the record and played bass, electric guitar, and keyboards. "Working with him was so effortless - we were on the exact same wavelength, and everything just flowed between us during our intensive 6 week session"
