Cass McCombs – whose work New York Magazine has praised as "smart, wise, playful, literary, and often funny" – has announced a new split 7" with Hand Habits, the project of Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Meg Duffy.

The release pairs two new tracks: McCombs' "Seeing The Elephant" and Hand Habits' "Good Person," and will be issued via Domino and Fat Possum.  McCombs' "Seeing The Elephant" arrives today alongside a video directed by Larry Unrein.

A limited-edition 7" vinyl pressing will be available exclusively on McCombs' Interior Live Oak Live North American tour.

"Seeing The Elephant" b/w "Good Person" marks the second and final tour-exclusive 7", following McCombs' collaborative split with Interior Live Oak co-producer Chris Cohen, "Steel Reserve" b/w "Ignis Fatuus, Hinkypunk, Sharkfins And Ambergris,"

The Interior Live Oak Live tour kicked off March 19 in New York City. At the opening show, comedian Adam Friedland introduced McCombs with a bold declaration: "In my opinion, Cass McCombs is the greatest singer-songwriter in the world." Stereogum was in attendance and later shared a live clip, writing: "The veteran musician made a compelling case for the superlative at LPR, delivering a revelatory two-hour set of psych-folk and indie rock to kick off the tour."

The 29-date run marks McCombs' first since the 2025 release of his critically acclaimed album Interior Live Oak, which Pitchfork named one of the year's best rock albums. Hand Habits will join as support on West Coast dates from April 4-11, performing solo in Seattle, Portland, Petaluma, and San Francisco before appearing with a full band in Los Angeles.

Sziget Festival heeft de line-up voor het elektronische programma bekendgemaakt. Na het debuut vorig jaar heeft de Delta District zich ontwikkeld tot een vaste plek binnen het festival. In het district, waar alles draait om elektronische muziek, staan drie verschillende podia en treden meer dan 100 acts op, waaronder Peggy Gou, Sara Landry, Indira Paganotto, Sub Focus, Argy en Richie Hawtin. Nieuw op de line-up zijn onder meer Anfisa Letyago, Patrick Mason, Mestiza, LAMMER en Lucky Done Gone.
Het Delta District bestaat uit het Yettel Colosseum, de BOLT Night Stage en The Club. Op deze drie podia vinden bezoekers een breed aanbod aan elektronische muziek: van grotere shows op de Night Stage tot intiemere clubsets in The Club. Het beroemde Yettel Colosseum - een 360 graden open air stage, opgebouwd uit houten pallets - is het hart van het Delta District.
'Met het Delta District hebben we het nachtprogramma van Sziget verder ontwikkeld, met ruimte voor verschillende stijlen binnen de elektronische muziek,' zegt Tamás Kádár, CEO van Sziget Festival. 'Van sets in het zonlicht bij het Colosseum tot dansen tot in de vroege ochtenduren: het is een 24/7-ervaring voor liefhebbers van elektronische muziek.'

Van Indira Paganotto en de Japanse DJ ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U en Argy weten we nu dat ze in Delta District staan. Vanuit Nederland reizen dit jaar onder meer Joris Voorn, LAMMER, Lucky Done Gone en Jamback af naar Boedapest.

Van 11 t/m 15 augustus 2026 vindt Sziget Festival plaats op het Óbuda-eiland in Boedapest. Het Hongaarse festival biedt een brede mix van muziek, cultuur en andere programmaonderdelen, met de Delta District als centraal onderdeel van het nachtprogramma.

Elektronische muziek is ook op andere podia te vinden, met artiesten als Underworld, Nia Archives en Soulwax. Daarnaast staan onder meer Florence + The Machine, Jorja Smith, Lewis Capaldi, Twenty One Pilots en Sombr op het programma.

Danny Blue is een Antwerpse alternatieve indie-rockband die haar oorsprong vindt op de middelbare school, waar ze onder de naam Danny Blue and the Old Socks het levenslicht zag. Geïnspireerd door de 21e-eeuwse golf van eclectische indie rock wist het viertal in 2017 voor het eerst de aandacht te trekken met hun EP 'Backyard Days' en publieksfavoriet 'Belgian Venice'.

In de jaren die volgden speelde de band talrijke shows in uiteenlopende bezettingen en verscheen in 2020 de EP 'BOYS'. Tegelijkertijd groeide bij de bandleden de behoefte om hun eigen artistieke pad te verkennen. De bijkomende druk van de COVID-periode leidde uiteindelijk tot een tijdelijke stilte.

Vijf jaar later keert Danny Blue terug naar de oorspronkelijke vierkoppige bezetting. Het collectieve songwritingproces staat opnieuw centraal en brengt de band dichter dan ooit bij haar essentie. Hun vernieuwde geluid zoekt het spanningsveld op tussen verleden en toekomst. Shoegaze-texturen en grunge-catharsis vloeien samen met een eigenzinnige indie-rockenergie. Dromerig maar ruw, nostalgisch maar vooruitstrevend. De naamsinkorting symboliseert die evolutie: een bewuste stap vooruit, met respect voor waar het allemaal begon.

De eerste single Tears is geen klaagzang, maar een innerlijke schreeuw. Een moment van confrontatie waarin je niet langer zeker weet wie je bent of waar je naartoe gaat. Waar dromen en sterren ooit richting gaven, groeit het besef dat niet alles voorbestemd is. Tears vangt die twijfel: een luide uitbarsting tijdens een stille strijd tussen vasthouden en loslaten.

Florence + The Machine headlines Open'er 2026!
One of the most important artists of her generation and a master of live emotional performances will play on Orange Main Stage, July 1. Also joining this year's line-up of the biggest festival in Poland are Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, Bassvictim, Jehnny Beth, Joy (Anonymous), Sadie Jean, Just Mustard, Hyphen Dash, supermodel*, Avi, and Łaszewo.

Open'er Festival powered by Orange 2026 will take place July 1–4 in Gdynia, at the Gdynia–Kosakowo Airport grounds. PANDA BEAR & SONIC BOOM
Panda Bear & Sonic Boom met via MySpace 20 years ago after Panda Bear thanked Spacemen 3 in the liner notes of his album „Person Pitch".  In 2016 Sonic Boom left his home in England for Portugal where Panda Bear was already residing. The two have since forged an enduring partnership with Sonic Boom co-producing a spate of Panda Bear releases including 2011's „Tomboy", including performing the album live together, and worked closely on 2015's „Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper". In 2022 Sonic Boom pitched an idea to take their working relationship to the next level,  resulting in the collaboration of „RESET", an album of gloriously, feverishly hook-bound tracks.  The duo continues to make music and perform live together as Panda Bear & Sonic Boom and have a new 7" single „Graveyard / Lucky charm" available on Record Store Day on 4/18. JEHNNY BETH
Jehnny Beth first came to prominence as the compelling frontwoman of Savages, the Mercury Prize–nominated post-punk band known for its live performances and stark lyricism. Her acclaimed solo debut "To Love Is To Live"(2020) expanded that vision - bold, cinematic, and emotionally charged. In 2022, she returned to the stage with IDLES, toured with Depeche Mode in Europe, and joined Queens of the Stone Age across the U.S. Reuniting in France with longtime creative partner Johnny Hostile - just off tour with Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - she began shaping "You Heartbreaker, You" - a cathartic, radical album born of urgency, joy, and rebellion. Having established themselves by playing impromptu meet-ups on London's South Bank, Henry Counsell and Louis Curran, the men who make up Joy (Anonymous), have quickly graduated to much bigger venues. Their music revels in the euphoria of being alive and all the feelings, good or bad, that come with it. Their second album „Cult Classics" (2023) follows the beat of a night out, from frenetic, sweaty movement to the gentler winding down as the dawn breaks. At times it is euphoric, celebratory and pure, whirling fun, at others it seeks the joy in the darker emotions that life throws our way. Joy (Anonymous) still remain dedicated to the spirit of spontaneity. They shut a street down with a surprise waterside party in New York and on a trip to Copenhagen, they played an impromptu set in a cafe, which turned into a house party and a night-long good time. JUST MUSTARD
Just Mustard is the Ireland-based band of Katie Ball, David Noonan, Mete Kalyoncuoğlu, Rob Clarke, and Shane Maguire. Across their first two albums - 2018's „Wednesday" and „Heart Under" (2022) they "rode a wave of noise to the front of the shoegaze pack, breaking from the distorted yearning of the genre's softer acolytes" (Pitchfork). The band's latest album "WE WERE JUST HERE" was released in October. While Just Mustard's signature elements are still intact on the upcoming release - warped guitars, twisted sound design and cavernous low ends - this time, it's all been channeled into a warmer and more anthemic path. Inspired by club spaces and physical joy, the songs strive for immediacy and feeling. Just Mustard subsequently went on a world tour and were handpicked by Robert Smith to support The Cure, as well as performing with Depeche Mode and Fontaines D.C. BASSVICTIM
London based duo comprised of Polish-English vocalist & writer Maria Manow and American-English producer Ike Clateman. They both met in Berlin in 2022 to mutual dislike, until reconvening four months later outside of Peckham Audio in London. Ike came up with the band name at said party due to the bass being "too intense." They released their first single "Canary Wharf Freestyle" in 2023. Their EP-s „Basspunk" and „Basspunk 2" came out respectively in 2024 and 2025. Last year saw the release of their debut album „Forever" and this year they presented their latest EP „?". You gotta check them out on Alter Stage, July 2.

SADIE JEAN
Sadie Jean is an American singer and songwriter who gained international recognition, among other things, thanks to the viral track „WYD Now?". Her work blends intimate pop with minimalist production and honest, emotional lyrics about relationships, growing up, and loneliness. Sadie Jean consistently develops her style, focusing on direct expression and subtle arrangements that highlight her distinctive vocals. This year saw the release of her debut album „Early Twenties Torture". And on July 4 you'll get the chance to see her live at Flow Stage.

HYPHEN DASH
Hyphen Dash is a Ukraine-based quartet founded in 2019, consisting of Myshko Birchenko(drums), Yevhen Puhachov (guitar, bass), Polina Maiboroda (keys, synths) and Dmytro Startsev (keys, synths). The band blends hip-hop, jazz, electronica, and prog-rock to reimagine instrumental music and explore new sonic landscapes. So far, the band has released a live EP from the NAMU Museum, several singles in collaboration with Ukrainian and international artists, a mixtape of demo tracks and Basement 626 album recorded 10 km from the frontline, which was featured in Rolling Stone and LATE album, which they created for 6 years. ŁASZEWO
Hailing from California, the trio Łaszewo is one of the fastest-rising names on the electronic pop scene. Matthew Ehrlich, Keeva Bouley, and Justin De La Fuente released their first track together in 2018, and thanks to songs like "Up In Flames" and "Till U Hate Me", as well as their high-energy live performances, their music quickly racked up millions of streams. Soms mag het al eens simpelweg melancholisch zijn. Speelkleeren is een nummer dat sferisch begint en dan langzaamaan opbouwt tot een dromerig spel van alviool, drum en bas. Het is een instrumentale terugblik op een - schijnbaar - onbezorgde kindertijd en de manier waarop je herinneringen vormt. In Speelkleeren neemt Foutloos de tijd. Geen wilde golven dit keer, maar zacht kabbelen.

In de video zie je Esther, Renaud en Jonas in speelkleren, twee decennia geleden. Het is een compilatie van oude VHS-cassettes, zo gemonteerd dat de herinneringen vervagen, vermengen en vervormen. Net als het nummer verkent de videoclip hoe het geheugen van je jeugd een eigen constructie maakt.

ᖴOᑌTᒪOOᔕ is een instrumentaal trio dat bestaat uit Esther Coorevits (Tourist LeMC, Nemø ensemble), Jonas Bruyneel (momoyo, Philemon, Vincent Coomans) en Renaud Debruyne (Mirek Coutigny, Mergel). In Foutloos gaan sferische improvisaties op altviool samen met funky baslijnen en snedige hiphopgrooves. Foutloos speelde shows in België, Nederland en het Verenigd Koninkrijk en is in 2026 artist in residence in De Grote Post.

Belgian pianist and composer Grégoire Gerstmans has, for several years now, been developing an intimate and minimalist musical language centered around piano and silence. Following his debut album Hypnagogie (2024), he today releases Ceux qui restent — the first single from his second album Éternité, set for release on October 9, 2026 — as he'll be performing three times (!) at BRDCST on April 3, 4, and 5, 2026.

While on Hypnagogie, Grégoire Gerstmans paid tribute to the state between wakefulness and sleep — that fragile moment where reality and dreams intertwine — he explores time and presence on Éternité. Composed of eight minimalist pieces, the album invites listeners to slow down, inhabit each moment, and listen to silence. The first highlighted track, Ceux qui restent, pays tribute to those who remain when someone disappears — a gesture of care and presence.

The order of the tracks follows an almost symbolic temporality on this new album. This fifth piece represents a central moment in the record:
"Ceux qui restent is a tribute to a very dear friend who recently passed away. My wife and I were invited to his bedside — a moment suspended in time. We shared his most precious memories, and he took the time to offer us a rare gift: the strength of the present moment. Every small detail of life he left us — a vegetable in the sunlight, a passing fly, a scent, a country, a drop of rain — becomes a treasure. These simple moments, what remains of him, I dedicate to all those who continue their journey after the loss of a loved one.
The piece reminds us that every moment of life is a precious gift. I played it on my small piano at home, with a sound I chose and love. Through it, I share what I received: that fragile and infinite intensity that life offers us.
To you, my friend, and to you, the love of my life, I dedicate these notes and silences, these suspended moments. May Ceux qui restent be a bridge between memory and present, a breath of emotion that travels through time. May those who remain find in this piece tenderness, strength, and the beauty of small moments. It is not just a melody, but a gift from the heart, received and passed on. It is the echo of what we have lived together and what continues to live within us. Every moment, every breath, every detail carries the trace of those we love. And in this way, despite absence, those who remain carry forever what has been given."

Recorded once again in his studio, the album continues Grégoire Gerstmans' artistic approach: a refined, stripped-down music in which every note matters and where silence becomes an essential element of the musical language.
"Time that passes, time that flows through us, time we believe we possess but which constantly escapes us. I like to think that time itself is eternal. The share we give to it is simply human. Today, time has become something dark. We measure it, we consume it, we buy it. We get paid for time. It has become our primary currency. And yet, we no longer have any. We no longer have time for ourselves, for our loved ones, for our families. No more time to look up at the sky. No more time to breathe. No more time to simply be. To be here, now. In the present. Because perhaps eternity lies precisely there: in that moment. Time is eternity. Let us take it."

Between Hypnagogie and Éternité, his work continues the same quest: to explore those suspended moments of existence when time seems to slow down — when we fall asleep, or when we finally take the time to be present.

In the spring of 1971, somewhere between Brussels, Paris and a collective pop fever dream, Le Monde Fabuleux des Yamasuki landed on vinyl. It sounded like nothing else then and it still does not today. More than half a century later, Sdban Records proudly presents a reissue of this singular cult album on vinyl.

The album was produced by Jean Kluger and written both by Jean and Daniel Vangarde (aka Bangalter, later the father of Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk), who were already well ahead of their time, long before electronic music rewrote the rules of pop culture.

Released under the name Yamasuki, also referred to as The Yamasuki Singers, or The Yamasuki's, the project was never intended as a conventional band. It was a studio-born fantasy, a concept album disguised as a pop record. What began as a standalone single quickly expanded into a full-blown pan-cultural pop opera that ignored genres and common sense with joyful abandon.

Musically, the album sits at a delirious crossroads. Psychedelic pop collides with funk rhythms, samba and bubblegum melodies, full of chants and choruses in a phonetic pseudo Japanese, written with the help of a dictionary. Kluger and Vangarde famously recruited a children's choir to perform the vocals, and for added spectacle, they brought in a Japanese judo grandmaster, whose ritualistic shouts and battle cries erupt throughout the record.

Several singles were released. One of them, Yamasuki, with accompanying dance move, appeared in the United Kingdom and France on John Peel's Dandelion label, a fitting home for a record that thrived on the margins of pop culture. Its B-side, Aieaoa, proved even more potent. In 1975, the song was reborn as A.I.E. (A Mwana) by Black Blood, an African group recording in Belgium, this time sung in Swahili. That melody would travel even further.

Aie a Mwana became the debut single of English pop group Bananarama, and in 2010 it resurfaced once more as Helele, an official song of the FIFA World Cup, recorded by South African singer Velile Mchunu with Danish percussion duo Safri Duo. That version became the most widely known incarnation of the song. With Jean Kluger directly involved, it was less a cover than a continuation of the original idea.

The album's afterlife did not stop there. Over the years, Yamasuki has been quietly sampled, covered, and featured across media far beyond the realm of novelty pop. Kono Samourai was sampled in The Healer by Erykah Badu (2007), produced by Madlib, while Yama Yama has found its way into recent pop culture as well: appearing in the television series Fargo, on Angus Stone's project Dope Lemon, and on the 2008 Late Night Tales compilation curated by Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders. Proof, if any were needed, that this strange little record carries a deeper musical DNA than its playful exterior might suggest.

This new reissue of Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki proves the renewed interest and respect for this cult album, faithful to the original spirit while finally giving it back the physical presence it deserves. In an era obsessed with genres and algorithmic neatness, Yamasuki still laughs, dances and karate-kicks its way past definitions.

It reminds us that pop music can be playful without being disposable, strange without being cynical and joyful without explanation. The world of Yamasuki was always fabulous, we are just lucky it found its way back to us.

The pioneering electronic dance act Lords Of Acid are back with their first new music in 8 years. 'Karaoke Superstar' sees them in full theatrical mode with what is a hyper-sexual, tongue-in-cheek, neon-drenched industrial, metal, acid dance anthem inspired by Japanese game show chaos, underground fetish culture and the absurdity of pop stardom.

Featuring a guest vocal by hit-making US vocalist and DJ Princess Superstar, the track fuses aggressive EBM-style sequencing with playful call-and-response hooks, mixing dark club energy with ironic theatrical excess. Part satire, part dancefloor weapon, it is intentionally over-the-top via a unique collision of cultures (European industrial roots, Japanese pop references, metal drums and guitars) and production aesthetics that are all wrapped up with the group's unmistakable provocative edge.

PRINCESS SUPERSTAR
'Karaoke Superstar' is the first in a series of singles to be released ahead of a long-awaited seventh Lords Of Acid album in late 2026. Further notable guest vocalists will appear, although the majority of songs feature the powerhouse voice of the reigning 'Acid Queen', Carla Harvey. Also renowned for her commanding stage presence, the distinctive US singer joined the group in early 2025. She was previously in the metal band Butcher Babies.

Formed in Antwerp, Belgium in 1988, Lords Of Acid are recognised as one of the most influential acts to emerge from the hard-edged electronic dance music scene of that era. Adopting and adapting underground club culture aesthetics fom the off, they blended techno, acid house and industrial music with provocative lyrics on themes of sexuality, drug use and hedonism. Debuting with the classic New Beat single 'I Sit On Acid', their debut album 'Lust' appeared in 1991 and was followed periodically by further releases that saw the group become a staple of the Billboard dance and alternative charts. Having built a substantial global following while maintaining a multi-decade touring career, Lords Of Acid remain one of their genre's most recognisable and enduring names.

Op zondag 13 september in OLT Rivierenhof, Antwerpen > Extra show!

Yellooo, Yellooo! Yong Yello zit momenteel midden in zijn succesvolle 'Den Bennie Tour' en denkt nog lang niet aan stoppen. De rapper en producer kondigde begin deze week een nieuwe show aan op zaterdag 12 september in de idyllische setting van OLT Rivierenhof in Antwerpen. Deze show was in een vingerknip uitverkocht, maar niet getreurd, want Yong Yello kondigt een extra show aan op zondag 13 september.

£Yello Staelens, beter bekend als Yong Yello, was in een vorig leven lid van het legendarische hiphopcollectief 'Eigen Makelij', waarin hij samenwerkte met onder anderen Tourist LeMC. Later groeide hij uit tot de vaste producer van Glints en ondertussen kennen we hem ook als de nieuwe kroonprins van het Antwerpse lied.

Uit zijn debuutalbum 'Marcel & Het Magnetisme Van De Goot' (2021) kwamen meteen enkele grote hits voort. Zo lieten onder meer "Cirkels", "Luchtkasteel" en "Waanzin" een stevige indruk na op het Vlaamse publiek. Ook zijn nieuwste album 'Bennie & De Banaliteit Van Ons Bestaan' (2025) was een instant succes. Hits als "Ik moet dringend op vakantie" en "Waarom ben ik zo destructief?" zijn niet meer weg te denken van de radio.

Naast zijn succesvolle albums en songwriting staat Yong Yello ook bekend om zijn energieke en krachtige liveshows. Dat mochten we al aan de lijve ondervinden tijdens zijn clubtours en op de festivalweides van onder andere Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter en de Lokerse Feesten.

De Nederlandse sopraan en frontvrouw Dianne van Giersbergen brengt vandaag 'The Quietude' uit, de nieuwe (zevende) single van haar symfonisch metal debuutalbum: 'Soulward Bound'. De release van 'Soulward Bound' komt op een unieke en onconventionele manier tot stand: verspreid over vijf jaar, met twee singles per jaar. Het volledige album zal rondom de release van de tiende en laatste single verschijnen. Door te kiezen voor deze manier van releasen kan DIANNE voor ieder nummer een wisselende bezetting van bekende en gerenommeerde internationale rock- en metalmuzikanten presenteren.

Ook haar nieuwe single, 'The Quietude', heeft weer een bijzonder verhaal en bezetting. Het is een prachtig duet tussen twee operastemmen, gezongen door DIANNE en de wereldberoemde sopraan Elena Vink, die tevens DIANNE's hoofdvakdocent (zang) was tijdens haar bachelor en master studies klassieke muziek aan het conservatorium. Het duet wordt begeleid door een vioolpartij van Ben Mathot (Ayreon), cello door Perttu Kivilaakso (Apocalyptica) en orkestratie door Joost van den Broek (Epica, Powerwolf, Sabaton).
'The Quietude' markeert het einde van een tijdperk. In deze laatste uitvoering van haar carrière zingt Elena Vink samen met DIANNE een duet dat een ware overdracht van de fakkel symboliseert: een prachtig laatste eerbetoon aan Elena's nalatenschap als docent en uitvoerend klassiek zangeres.
DIANNE: "De zevende song van mijn album heeft échte diepgang. Je hoort mij samen met sopraan Elena Vink, de vrouw die me alle kneepjes van het klassieke stemvak heeft geleerd - en die met het zingen van dit duet afscheid neemt van een glansrijke carrière. Het thema van 'The Quietude' is een gesprek tussen de dromen najagende artiest die DIANNE heden ten dage is, het kind dat ze ooit was en de vrouw die ze hoopt te worden. De drie generaties ontmoeten elkaar in een tijdloos vacuüm en spreken over hun levensdoelen, herinneringen en dromen. Het nummer is een vriendelijke herinnering aan de luisteraar om het heden te omarmen en het verleden te koesteren: 'Life is golden, behold the flame within.'
