'A Song With The Title Of Lunch Bells'  is the debut album of avant pop folk artist Alice George Perez, a songwriter who's called Brussels home for nine years now. Born in France and raised across Tokyo, Wellington, and Edinburgh, she weaves together the threads of those worlds into timeless, exploratory folk. Anchored by acoustic guitar and her captivating voice, her songs bloom with drones, field recordings, and strings, each note steeped in quiet curiosity. A well-kept secret of the Brussels folk underground, Alice now steps gently into the light with her debut album, which is out now on MOKUHI sonorities. 'A Song With the Title of Lunch Bells' is a work that hums with both wanderlust and stillness.

Singer-songwriter since she was wee, Alice bathes in a music-hall kinda zip, and brushes her guitar in fits of finger-picking. Borrowing from the forefathers and frolicking with her peers, she weaves her songs intricately between contemporary-folk and art-pop, warbling her liminal lyrics, swollen with pictures and playful quips, into melodies of cheerful melancholy. Nestled somewhere between Connie Converse and a McCartney-esque fantasia, bearing some semblance to Aldous Harding perhaps, she’ll have you trailing her influences, and surely, you’ll have another slice. Alice often takes to the stage alone, but is now joined live by musicians who helped create the sonic identity of her first LP.

Alice will go on tour with a brand new live band consisting of Yannick Dupont (Ottla, Jawahr) on drums, Nicolas Rombouts (SPOOK, Dez Mona, Jim White) on double bass, Ma Clément (Fievel is Glauque) on backing vocals and Raphaële Germser on viola.
