V2 records news – Ramkot - Releases EP "Facts Don't Mean A Thing"

Releases EP "Facts Don't Mean A Thing"

15 November live @ Het Depot, Leuven

Mathias Stal, Tom Leyman, Jef Neve, Tim Leyman & Hannes Cuyvers

As a grand finale to the Rosa era, Ramkot releases a brand-new EP titled Facts Don't Mean a Thing. The EP features four powerful tracks, a mix of surprising collaborations, live material, and brand-new songs. The first ideas were planted during their retreat in Joshua Tree, but it wasn't until after their extensive Rosa album tour that the songs fully took shape. The result is an intense and uncompromising conclusion to a turbulent chapter. A couple of weeks ago, the band released a first track. Together with classical pianist Jef Neve they made a surprising rework of Hollow.

The thematic sense of alienation that lay at the heart of Rosa has only deepened since then. In these new songs, that existential unrest is explored even further, now accompanied by a growing anxiety about the future. Ramkot presents itself rawer and more urgent than ever before.

On focus track Algorithmic Kings, Ramkot fuses their signature ramrock sound with the gritty desert tones they absorbed during their stay in Joshua Tree, California, where they recorded their latest album. The result is a tight, compelling track packed with raw energy, classic Ramkot riffs, and infectious melodies.

Beneath that musical explosion lies a sharp, socially charged lyric, steeped in the unrest that feels omnipresent today. "The truth is only true when I say so," sings Hannes Cuyvers — a line that immediately reveals which "kings" the band is referring to. In a world where hate often drowns out the truth, Ramkot uses music as an outlet — a way to give voice to their frustration and anxiety toward the daily flood of news.

The reimagined version of Hollow featuring Jef Neve on the other hand, shows how genre boundaries can blur when there is room for mutual respect and artistic curiosity. Jef Neve's subtle, emotionally charged piano performance lifts the song to a new level, while Ramkot's intense vocals and band dynamics remain intact — yet are cast in a different light. The result is an enchanting symbiosis of tension, nuance, and energy. This collaboration underlines the power of musical cross-pollination and demonstrates how refreshing it can be to step off the beaten path. "Hollow," in this new form, is not a remix but a rebirth — a song that will surprise and move both Ramkot fans and admirers of Jef Neve alike.

Ramkot's Flanders Club tour starts tomorrow with a show at Het Depot in Leuven. During November and December they will play six Belgian clubs, besides Depot they will stop at Cactus Club, Wilde Westen, Wintercircus, Trix and Bootstraat.
