South London innovator Wu-Lu and shapeshifting artist POiSON ANNA unite for their collaborative EP Bakerz Dozen, arriving June 5th via Warp Records. The project is introduced with new tracks "New Park" and "King Kong" today, alongside a limited vinyl run (300 copies) and digital pre-release.
Bakerz Dozen is a tightly woven nine-track project that drifts between alternative, hip-hop, trip-hop and R&B, capturing the duo's instinctive chemistry and fully realised shared language - one that moves fluidly between intensity and restraint, darkness and clarity. No strangers to collaboration, both artists bring rich histories of working alongside boundary-pushing contemporaries including Damon Albarn, A$AP Rocky, Dean Blunt and black midi to name a few.
Wu-Lu and POiSON ANNA arrive at Bakerz Dozen with strong individual trajectories. Wu-Lu has earned widespread acclaim for his output, performing on Later... with Jools Holland, and appearing at major international festivals including Primavera, Roskilde, Pukkelpop and Glastonbury. POiSON ANNA, meanwhile, has carved out a singular space, establishing herself as one of the UK's most distinctive and uncompromising voices. She's appeared at Pitchfork Festival in Paris, her music has been featured on GTA V and most recently has worked with iconic British fashion photographer, Nick Knight.
On Bakerz Dozen, their combined vision results in something both immediate and atmospheric - a dark, reflective body of work that feels attuned to the present moment.
The release show will take place on June 27th at Club Cheek, London.
