Karl was a distinguished percussion player at the Dusseldorf College of Music when he was called up by Ralf Hutter and Florian Schneider to play live with Kraftwerk during their 1975 US Tour. And he ended up staying with the famous pionneer group until 1993.

During his time with Kraftwerk, Karl played on all Kw albums from Radioactivity to The Mix. He also composed Kraftwerk's most famous songs (The Model, Computer World, Technopop, Tour De France, etc...).

After quitting the Dusseldorf based band, Karl Bartos launched himself a new career and releasing several albums with Electric Musik or Electronic (with Bernard Summer from New Order).

His LIVE CINEMA show is an exhilirating hommage to cinema, the power of image and it's combination with sounds. All majors tracks he wrote are reviewed and redone in such a fashion that it feels like they were written yesterday.
A new album is planned in 2012.

Karl Bartos will play at the Sinners Day in Hasselt 30th october 2011.
