Belgian pianist and composer Grégoire Gerstmans has, for several years now, been developing an intimate and minimalist musical language centered around piano and silence. Following his debut album Hypnagogie (2024), he today releases Ceux qui restent — the first single from his second album Éternité, set for release on October 9, 2026 — as he'll be performing three times (!) at BRDCST on April 3, 4, and 5, 2026.
While on Hypnagogie, Grégoire Gerstmans paid tribute to the state between wakefulness and sleep — that fragile moment where reality and dreams intertwine — he explores time and presence on Éternité. Composed of eight minimalist pieces, the album invites listeners to slow down, inhabit each moment, and listen to silence. The first highlighted track, Ceux qui restent, pays tribute to those who remain when someone disappears — a gesture of care and presence.
The order of the tracks follows an almost symbolic temporality on this new album. This fifth piece represents a central moment in the record:
"Ceux qui restent is a tribute to a very dear friend who recently passed away. My wife and I were invited to his bedside — a moment suspended in time. We shared his most precious memories, and he took the time to offer us a rare gift: the strength of the present moment. Every small detail of life he left us — a vegetable in the sunlight, a passing fly, a scent, a country, a drop of rain — becomes a treasure. These simple moments, what remains of him, I dedicate to all those who continue their journey after the loss of a loved one.
The piece reminds us that every moment of life is a precious gift. I played it on my small piano at home, with a sound I chose and love. Through it, I share what I received: that fragile and infinite intensity that life offers us.
To you, my friend, and to you, the love of my life, I dedicate these notes and silences, these suspended moments. May Ceux qui restent be a bridge between memory and present, a breath of emotion that travels through time. May those who remain find in this piece tenderness, strength, and the beauty of small moments. It is not just a melody, but a gift from the heart, received and passed on. It is the echo of what we have lived together and what continues to live within us. Every moment, every breath, every detail carries the trace of those we love. And in this way, despite absence, those who remain carry forever what has been given."
Recorded once again in his studio, the album continues Grégoire Gerstmans' artistic approach: a refined, stripped-down music in which every note matters and where silence becomes an essential element of the musical language.
"Time that passes, time that flows through us, time we believe we possess but which constantly escapes us. I like to think that time itself is eternal. The share we give to it is simply human. Today, time has become something dark. We measure it, we consume it, we buy it. We get paid for time. It has become our primary currency. And yet, we no longer have any. We no longer have time for ourselves, for our loved ones, for our families. No more time to look up at the sky. No more time to breathe. No more time to simply be. To be here, now. In the present. Because perhaps eternity lies precisely there: in that moment. Time is eternity. Let us take it."
Between Hypnagogie and Éternité, his work continues the same quest: to explore those suspended moments of existence when time seems to slow down — when we fall asleep, or when we finally take the time to be present.

In the spring of 1971, somewhere between Brussels, Paris and a collective pop fever dream, Le Monde Fabuleux des Yamasuki landed on vinyl. It sounded like nothing else then and it still does not today. More than half a century later, Sdban Records proudly presents a reissue of this singular cult album on vinyl.
The album was produced by Jean Kluger and written both by Jean and Daniel Vangarde (aka Bangalter, later the father of Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk), who were already well ahead of their time, long before electronic music rewrote the rules of pop culture.
Released under the name Yamasuki, also referred to as The Yamasuki Singers, or The Yamasuki's, the project was never intended as a conventional band. It was a studio-born fantasy, a concept album disguised as a pop record. What began as a standalone single quickly expanded into a full-blown pan-cultural pop opera that ignored genres and common sense with joyful abandon.
Musically, the album sits at a delirious crossroads. Psychedelic pop collides with funk rhythms, samba and bubblegum melodies, full of chants and choruses in a phonetic pseudo Japanese, written with the help of a dictionary. Kluger and Vangarde famously recruited a children's choir to perform the vocals, and for added spectacle, they brought in a Japanese judo grandmaster, whose ritualistic shouts and battle cries erupt throughout the record.
Several singles were released. One of them, Yamasuki, with accompanying dance move, appeared in the United Kingdom and France on John Peel's Dandelion label, a fitting home for a record that thrived on the margins of pop culture. Its B-side, Aieaoa, proved even more potent. In 1975, the song was reborn as A.I.E. (A Mwana) by Black Blood, an African group recording in Belgium, this time sung in Swahili. That melody would travel even further.
Aie a Mwana became the debut single of English pop group Bananarama, and in 2010 it resurfaced once more as Helele, an official song of the FIFA World Cup, recorded by South African singer Velile Mchunu with Danish percussion duo Safri Duo. That version became the most widely known incarnation of the song. With Jean Kluger directly involved, it was less a cover than a continuation of the original idea.
The album's afterlife did not stop there. Over the years, Yamasuki has been quietly sampled, covered, and featured across media far beyond the realm of novelty pop. Kono Samourai was sampled in The Healer by Erykah Badu (2007), produced by Madlib, while Yama Yama has found its way into recent pop culture as well: appearing in the television series Fargo, on Angus Stone's project Dope Lemon, and on the 2008 Late Night Tales compilation curated by Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders. Proof, if any were needed, that this strange little record carries a deeper musical DNA than its playful exterior might suggest.
This new reissue of Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki proves the renewed interest and respect for this cult album, faithful to the original spirit while finally giving it back the physical presence it deserves. In an era obsessed with genres and algorithmic neatness, Yamasuki still laughs, dances and karate-kicks its way past definitions.
It reminds us that pop music can be playful without being disposable, strange without being cynical and joyful without explanation. The world of Yamasuki was always fabulous, we are just lucky it found its way back to us.

The pioneering electronic dance act Lords Of Acid are back with their first new music in 8 years. 'Karaoke Superstar' sees them in full theatrical mode with what is a hyper-sexual, tongue-in-cheek, neon-drenched industrial, metal, acid dance anthem inspired by Japanese game show chaos, underground fetish culture and the absurdity of pop stardom.
Featuring a guest vocal by hit-making US vocalist and DJ Princess Superstar, the track fuses aggressive EBM-style sequencing with playful call-and-response hooks, mixing dark club energy with ironic theatrical excess. Part satire, part dancefloor weapon, it is intentionally over-the-top via a unique collision of cultures (European industrial roots, Japanese pop references, metal drums and guitars) and production aesthetics that are all wrapped up with the group's unmistakable provocative edge.
PRINCESS SUPERSTAR
'Karaoke Superstar' is the first in a series of singles to be released ahead of a long-awaited seventh Lords Of Acid album in late 2026. Further notable guest vocalists will appear, although the majority of songs feature the powerhouse voice of the reigning 'Acid Queen', Carla Harvey. Also renowned for her commanding stage presence, the distinctive US singer joined the group in early 2025. She was previously in the metal band Butcher Babies.

Formed in Antwerp, Belgium in 1988, Lords Of Acid are recognised as one of the most influential acts to emerge from the hard-edged electronic dance music scene of that era. Adopting and adapting underground club culture aesthetics fom the off, they blended techno, acid house and industrial music with provocative lyrics on themes of sexuality, drug use and hedonism. Debuting with the classic New Beat single 'I Sit On Acid', their debut album 'Lust' appeared in 1991 and was followed periodically by further releases that saw the group become a staple of the Billboard dance and alternative charts. Having built a substantial global following while maintaining a multi-decade touring career, Lords Of Acid remain one of their genre's most recognisable and enduring names.

Het Belgische duo blackwave. brengt een internationaal klinkende mix van jazzy hiphop, soul en summer vibes. Het duo jaagt elke festivalweide in beweging met hun instant meezingers. Mentissa stond in de schijnwerpers als winnares van The Voice Kids (2014) en als één van de topkandidaten van Eurosong (2025). Haar sterke popsong 'Desolée' combineerde catchy eighties-elementen, een onweerstaanbaar refrein en zette vooral haar sterke soulvolle stem in de kijker. Haar deelname aan The Voice of France zorgde voor een sneeuwbaleeffect: een platencontract, top noteringen bij alle streamingdiensten en een mega populariteit in Frankrijk. Klaar voor iets radicaal nieuws? GRAYSSOKER trekt de accordeon los uit zijn stereotype rol en brengt het instrument tot een niet-normaal niveau. Met pompende beats en pure spanning bouwt hij zijn show laag per laag op. Geen brave fusion, maar een dansbare rave dat heel het publiek meesleurt tot de laatste noot. Stampen!
Warme, dromerige grooves die voelen als eeuwig durende golden hour. Oosterse melodieën blenden met elektronische sounds, da's iets waar Omar Dahl expert in is! Synths, blazers en snaarinstrumenten glijden in elkaar tot een dansbare, bijna filmische sfeer. Het soort set waarin je wegzakt, maar waarin je liefst permanent zou blijven vertoeven.
Vier muzikanten die elkaar vinden in het moment: dat is SPACE Quartet. Rond Nicolas Mortelmans, Roland Van Campenhout, Stef Kamil Carlens en Tim Vanhamel ontstaat een universum waar psychedelica, ambient, funk en jazz elkaar kruisen. Achter TP Le Green zit Tim Beernaert, die na het verlies van zijn zoontje Rinus zijn grote steun in muziek vond. Uit dat hartverscheurende verdriet ontspringt een stroom van muziek. Voor zijn debuutalbum trok hij met topmuzikanten naar de iconische La Frette studio in Parijs. Samen met Sarah Green (ex-lid Portland) maakte hij Amen, een anthem over onverwoestbare hoop, een lichtpuntje midden in de donkerste nacht.
De half-Vlaamse Ramses Shaffy is geboren: Frans Kalf. Met scherpe zinnen, een half ironische glimlachje in zijn stem en indiefolky melodieën wordt je meegenomen naar een cynisch vrolijke wereld. Zijn debuutsingle Terwijl Je Voor Me Stond zette hem in één klap op de kaart. Live heeft hij die ontwapenende presence die je stil krijgt én doet glimlachen. Een jonge stem met lef, charme en een eigen hoek.
Door Farfar schiet het kwik de hoogte in. In hun warme, mediterraanse wereld komen jazzy melodieën, opmerkelijke bouzouki, zware synthakkoorden en stevig saxwerk samen. Live voelt de band alsof je door een zonovergoten landschap wandelt. Licht en onweerstaanbaar groovy!
Ethno Flanders is elk jaar een compleet nieuw verhaal: zo’n zestig jonge muzikanten uit alle hoeken van de wereld die in één intense week samen een unieke live set bouwen. Wat je op Dranouter ziet, is het resultaat van jammen, dansen, ontdekken en vriendschappen smeden. Een explosie van energie, diversiteit en pure goesting. Jong, wild en super aanstekelijk.
Zaterdagochtend op Festival Dranouter begint met het Powertrio. Jan De Smet, Wouter Berlaen en Stoy Stoffelen trekken je met gitaren, accordeon, humor en een lading klassiekers weer recht na de eerste festivaldag. Belfast trio KNEECAP have today shared the video for their latest single, FENIAN, the title-track from their forthcoming new album, to be released on May 1 via Heavenly Recordings.
The anthemic track already feels like it's been here for an entire era – a raucous party tune that will no doubt birth some of the biggest festival singalong chants of the summer, this is a brilliant, invigorating, unapologetic declaration of identity and community. Tiochfaidh ár lá - somebody sample that.
Talking about the track, KNEECAP said: "An Anthem to embrace our Fenian past, and to cure our colonial hangover by reconnecting the warriors of Irish folklore with the Fenian c*nts from the North of Ireland.
The track is accompanied by a brilliantly surreal video shot in and around West Belfast which sees DJ Provai's now ubiquitous tricolour balaclava very much front and centre.. The video was directed by Thomas James, who added: "For me, this track is about a reclaiming of identity. Not only of the word, but for people too. Which is what our film is. A trippy whirlwind through people and places who embody the spirit of the boys and the song. Of seeing the word Fenian through a new lens. It was a blast. It was chaos. It was a fever dream of running around Ireland convincing people to pop a bally on and do something mental. Good times had by all.
Produced by Dan Carey, the new album also features previous singles Smugglers & Scholars, recently featured as part of the regular COLORSxSTUDIOS shows, and Liars Tale.
Additionally, having completed a SOLD-OUT U.K. and Irish tour at the end of last year, they head out on a run of out-store shows for the week of album release and a number of EU festival appearances and recently announced EU headline shows over the summer.

FinFactor Jazz Damme 2026 kondigt eerste namen aan
FinFactor Jazz Damme bestaat vijf jaar! Het jazzfestival presenteert op 1 april hun eerste namen voor deze editie, die plaatsvindt op 29 en 30 augustus. Het schilderachtige historische centrum van Damme, een middeleeuws stadje op een steenworp van Brugge, verwelkomt onder anderen de gelauwerde bassist Joe Sanders, de eveneens Amerikaanse vocaliste Christie Dashiell en Vlaamse toppianiste Margaux Vranken. Tijdens deze editie wordt bovendien voor het eerst een tweede podium gepresenteerd, dat jonge talenten zoals de winnaar van de Dragon Jazz Contest, een plek geeft tussen de concerten op het hoofdpodium door.

From the rich tradition of expansive art-rock that has long flowed out of mainland Europe, the much-loved and critically acclaimed Ghinzu today continue their return with the release of their second single, Snow White, taken from their forthcoming fourth studio album and first in 17 years (!), W.O.W.A, due for release via Play It Again Sam on May 29th, 2026.
Snow White is a triptych about addiction, using three interwoven stories. Frontman John Descamps explains, "The first tackles addiction to computer screens and social media. The second story contrasts this with drug addiction. And the third focuses on Snow White – you're poisoned with an apple and wake up with love. But it's more about flashes, just an image in your head. The three of them play together in one song."
A song that revels in creative freedom, Snow White refuses to sit in one place. "Indie rock, by definition, involves manipulating references. And that means you can take folk, you can take punk, and you can take electronic, and everything comes together through a type of raw freedom. And I think this is the music we do."
From selling more than 100,000 copies of their breakthrough second album Blow across Europe, to sharing stages with the likes of Muse, Placebo and Iggy & The Stooges, and seeing their music featured on the soundtrack of the global hit film 'Taken', Ghinzu have long stood as one of Belgium's most iconic rock exports.
The forthcoming record W.O.W.A, has been a work in progress for some time, with Ghinzu having written almost 90 fully fledged ideas for their new album, before whittling this down to the final tracklisting. "We had all these hard drives everywhere," recalls Descamps. "We wanted to gather 10 tracks together to really represent all those years of condensed work."
The results take Ghinzu back to basics, before blasting them into uncharted territories. Their formative influences - the energy and expression of Queen; the raucous grunge noise of Nirvana and The Melvins – remain, alongside their passion for visual art. Name-checking the painters Gerhard Richter and Francis Bacon as points of inspiration, they stepped back from their perfectionist leanings to embrace music at its most raw and powerful.
Sessions took place at a multitude of studios. Ghinzu worked in their native Belgium and across the Atlantic in New York; they secluded themselves in the countryside, and worked at studios overlooking the sea. "Our plan was to drift away, creating 'evolutive songs' that could change from one week to another, or simply disappear to maybe reappear. Doubts have less room within such space, as there is nothing to finish. What is left are the survivors of that period, the wild ones who got captured."
From first to last, these are stories built by older musicians, people with experience and maturity. "It's about telling very specific stories in a way that is universal," he says. "There's an almost confrontational aspect with regards to age. We're developing an intergenerational feel in bringing these stories out of specific narratives and pushing them into different spaces."

DE LAGE LANDEN BOVEN OP ZONDAG!
Een nieuwe week, en daar zijn opnieuw verse namen voor Suikerrock 2026!
We vullen de affiche van zondag 9 augustus verder aan met vijf toppers. Die dag kleurt fel oranje, want headliners Suzan & Freek en Clouseau krijgen het gezelschap van noorderburen Guus Meeuwis, Snelle, Kraantje Pappie en LUNA. Van eigen bodem voegen we bovendien wonderboy Aaron Blommaert toe aan de line-up.
De affiche van Suikerrock 2026 krijgt daarmee écht vorm. De MainStage voor vrijdag 7 en zaterdag 8 augustus staat al bijna op scherp en ook de slotdag krijgt al aardig vorm met deze toevoegingen om duimen en vingers bij af te likken.
Absolute kleppers Clouseau en Suzan & Freek gaven we al prijs, maar alvorens zij de spreekwoordelijke kers op de Tiense taart zetten, wordt de rode loper voor hen uitgerold door de grootste publieksfavorieten van de lage landen. Dat wordt een finale vol hits, energie en singalongs!
GUUS MEEUWIS
Om te beginnen nodigen we met Guus Meeuwis een levende legende uit in Tienen. Sinds 1995 is er geen enkel feestje geweest dat niet zijn hoogtepunt kende op "Het is een nacht...", al is de Nederlander veel meer dan die ene hit. Het nummer effende ondertussen al dertig jaar geleden het pad, waarna zijn populariteit enkel en alleen maar bleef toenemen. In Nederland vulde hij de voorbije jaren al 72 keer het Philips stadion in zijn heimat Eindhoven, goed voor 2,5 miljoen bezoekers! Eind 2025 was voorlopig zijn Belgische hoogtepunt, met twee uitverkochte shows in de AFAS Dome. Die kwamen er in de nasleep van een succesvolle deelname aan het VTM-programma Liefde Voor Muziek, wat er voor zorgde dat een nieuwe generatie kennismaakte met het fenomeen Guus Meeuwis. Smeer die stembanden dus al maar in!.
SNELLE
Het Nederlandse vierluik wordt verder aangevuld door Snelle, en ook daar is geen houden meer aan! Sinds de Nederlander doorbrak met “Reünie”, volgden de hits elkaar in sneltempo op. Onder meer “Smoorverliefd”, “Blijven Slapen” en recenter “Laat Het Licht Aan” passeren met regelmaat van de klok op radio, en zorgden ervoor dat hij al op de grootste podia van het land mocht aantreden. Van Pukkelpop tot de Lotto Arena: België en Snelle zijn twee handen op één buik. Komende zomer kent dat liefdesverhaal een nieuw hoogtepunt: bij ons, op de Mainstage.
KRAANTJE PAPPIE
De dansbenen krijgen een stevige stresstest, want met Kraantje Pappie staat er nog zo’n fenomeen op de planning. Onder dat alter ego verovert Alex van der Zouwen al sinds jaar en dag menigtes én harten, want wie al eens een concert van de Nederlander meemaakte, weet dat je met een glimlach terug de zaal uitkomt. Als je er al inkomt, want op Pukkelpop vorig jaar bleek de tent vele malen te klein voor de massale toeloop. Je hoeft Kraan dan ook niet meer te leren hoe je een feestje op gang brengt, om nog maar te zwijgen over zijn karrenvracht aan hits. Van “Pompen” tot “Feesttent”, van “Traag” tot “De Manier”… en dan vergeten we er nog elfendertig. Verwacht je aan energie en vuurwerk!
AARON BLOMMAERT
Van eigen bodem is het alleskunner Aaron Blommaert die komende zomer zijn debuut maakt op Suikerrock. Acteur, presentator en vooral: maker van hits. "ZONDE", "EGOTRIP", "DEURBEL" en het huidige "DNA": er staan nog maar negen nummers op zijn discografie, maar die werden stuk voor stuk grijsgedraaid, en dan moet de release van dat debuutalbum nog komen. Oorsprong ligt vanaf dit voorjaar in de rekken, en dat belooft alles in een zoveelste stroomversnelling te brengen. Een releaseshow in Het Depot leidt een festivaltour in, die hem op zondag 9 augustus ook langs Tienen brengt. Samen met al zijn meezingers en tomeloze positiviteit.
LUNA
Tot slot voegen we met LUNA ook nog hét in de gaten te houden talent van het Nederlandstalige lied aan de line-up toe. De Nederlandse zangeres brak door met “Dat is het leven”, haar eigen interpretatie van Billie Eilish’ “Birds of a Feather”. Vorig jaar bracht Luna van Kampen ook nog “Stuk” uit, een nummer 1 hit met Metejoor die haar populariteit in Vlaanderen nog wat deed stijgen. Een eerste passage op Suikerrock in The Palace was het gevolg. Op het einde van vorig jaar was ze niet van de radio weg te slaan met haar hit “Pauze”. Nog maar 23 lentes jong en al zo een palmares: De toekomst ziet er stralend uit voor LUNA!
Er volgen zeer snel nog nieuwe namen, ook voor de zijpodia The Cube en The Palace. De Suikerrock affiche ziet er voorlopig als volgt uit:

Suikerrock 2026, vindt plaats van 7 tot en met 9 augustus op het Bietenplein aan de Tiense Suikerrafinaderij.

Gooikoorts folkfestival onthult line-up voor zomereditie '26!
Pajottegem - Van 3 tot 5 juli strijkt Gooikoorts neer op de atletiekpiste in Gooik. Als een van de weinige folkfestivals in Vlaanderen blijft het trouw aan zijn roots: kleinschalig, warm en eigenzinnig. Drie dagen lang presenteert organisator Muziekmozaïek vzw een diverse mix aan traditionele en vernieuwende folk met binnenlandse en internationale artiesten.

De Brits-Cyprische Artemas Diamandis brengt pas sinds 2020 muziek uit, maar wist op korte tijd een indrukwekkend palmares op te bouwen. Met maandelijks vijftien miljoen luisteraars, toegankelijke songwriting en een herkenbare, moody sound onderscheidt hij zich moeiteloos van de massa. In 2024 verscheen zijn eerste mixtape 'Pretty', met de hit "if u think i'm pretty". De echte grote doorbraak kwam echter met opvolger 'Yustyna' en de monsterhit "i like the way you kiss me". Dat nummer groeide uit tot een wereldwijd TikTok-fenomeen, werd platgedraaid door de radio en verzamelde miljoenen streams. Die hits schrijft en produceert Artemas zelf. Wat begon als een project van een bedroom-producer, is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een professionele studiowerking. Ook achter de schermen is hij een veelgevraagd talent. Zo werkte hij al samen met Måneskin en Tyler Cole en schreef hij onlangs nog "Like Animals" voor de K-pop-iconen van BTS.
Op 27 maart verscheen zijn vierde mixtape 'getting up to no good'. Fans kregen met singles "psychokiller" en "myself" al een voorsmaakje van het nieuw materiaal.
