MADNESS (feat. DJ 4T4) is de nieuwe energieke single van Night and Dave. Een rauwe trip die de luisteraar meeneemt door de chaos van de ochtendspits. Zanger David Bauwens (Dave) schreef de tekst on the spot, met de dictafoon op het dashboard, tijdens een autorit door Gent. Onder de oppervlakte schuilt een bredere reflectie: het besef dat een levensloop geen rechte lijn is, maar een opeenstapeling van verwachtingen, misstappen, extase en financiële stress. De track beweegt zoals dat leven zelf: nerveus, groovy, zoekend en uiteindelijk ontsporend. Die mentale achtbaan vertaalt zich muzikaal in een explosieve mix van hiphop, jazz en rauwe energie, culminerend in de uitzinnige tirade van een ‘ranting mad man’. Alle blieps, scratches en onvoorspelbare details komen van DJ 4T4 (Kristof Michiels), die de sound een heerlijke twist van gecontroleerde chaos geeft. De productie was is handen van Sebastian Omerson die de single opnam in zijn Number Nine Studios in Gent. De track heeft een uitgesproken 90ies feel en dat zie je ook terugkomen in de DIY videoclip die de band daarbij fabriceerde. Night and Dave kijkt halsreikend uit naar een druk muzikaal jaar dat ze deze week starten met een tour in de UK en een EP release in het najaar, voorafgegaan door een tweede single in de eerste helft van 2026.
Night and Dave mengt pop en hiphop en funk tot groovy, energieke songs met aanstekelijke hooks in een explosieve live-performance. Het Gentse schrijversduo David Bauwens (vocals) en Bert Van Damme (Drums) sleurt je mee in een energieke en bizarre trip door de nacht. Live laten ze zich flankeren door Daan Demeyer (keys) en Pieter Van den Brande (bas, backing vocals). Night and Dave mixt hip-pop grooves, jazzy vibes en funky ritmes tot iets dat tegelijk catchy én heerlijk onvoorspelbaar klinkt—met invloeden van Anderson .Paak, Jamiroquai en Ertebrekers. Met sterke hooks, theatrale flair en een hoek af op het juiste moment, brengen ze een liveshow die balanceert tussen muzikaal vakmanschap en gecontroleerde chaos. Verwacht meezingbare refreinen, onverwachte wendingen en een frontman die het absurde niet schuwt—deels crooner, deels losgeslagen stadsprofeet. Night and Dave serveert geen brave set, maar een belevenis vol karakter, spelplezier en eigenaardige details die blijven nazinderen.

Friendly Fire investeert in groei van talent: nieuwe vergoedingsstructuur voor support acts
Zichtbaarheid én passende beloning voor opkomende artiesten afgestemd op zaalcapaciteit
Boekingskantoor, concert- en festivalorganisator Friendly Fire zal vanaf 1 januari 2026 artiesten die een voorprogramma spelen betalen op basis van de capaciteit van de locatie. Friendly Fire zet hiermee als bedrijf een belangrijke eerste stap richting een meer passende onkostenvergoedingen voor opkomende artiesten. Met deze stap nodigt Friendly Fire de sector uit om te volgen en hiermee een nieuwe norm te zetten voor de vergoedingen voor voorprogramma’s.
Dit initiatief is mede geïnspireerd door gesprekken die in de muzieksector worden gevoerd over Fair-Pay en de duurzaamheid van een carrière als muzikant. Pien Feith (Hoofd van de Nederlandse Boekingsafdeling) is namens Friendly Fire sinds begin 2022 actief betrokken bij de ketentafel van het programma fairPACCT van Platform ACCT. Binnen deze ketentafel doet de sector samen voorstellen voor betere arbeidsvoorwaarden en ontwikkelen ze praktijkinstrumenten zoals tarievenrichtlijnen. Deze support fee staffel zoals hij er nu ligt is ontwikkeld binnen de ketentafel en wordt door de ketentafel ondersteund. Friendly Fire zal deze structuur vanaf 1 januari 2026 toepassen, monitoren en aan het einde van 2026 evalueren. Met dit initiatief wil Friendly Fire het voortouw nemen en concreet investeren in opkomend muzikaal talent in een steeds uitdagender cultureel klimaat.

“Tot op heden is er in de Nederlandse live-muzieksector geen officiële richtlijn voor de onkostenvergoeding die een artiest ontvangt wanneer er een voorprogramma wordt gespeeld. In de praktijk is dit vaak een bedrag van 150 euro. Dit is een gebruikelijk tarief dat van oudsher aangehouden wordt en de afgelopen 20 jaar niet gestegen is. De kosten om een voorprogramma te komen spelen zijn echter de laatste jaren enorm gestegen als ook de grootte van de zalen waar Nederlandse artiesten spelen. Friendly Fire ambieert met dit initiatief opkomende muzikanten concreet te ondersteunen tijdens deze vaak taaie investeringsperiode en bij te dragen aan doorgroei in hun carrière”
Deze aanvulling vanuit Friendly Fire is beschikbaar voor alle Nederlandse en Belgische Friendly Fire artiesten die als support act spelen in Nederland. Op zaterdag 17 januari 2026 zal dit initiatief verder worden toegelicht in een panel tijdens de muziekconferentie Eurosonic Noorderslag. Dit panel zal plaatsvinden tussen 11:30 - 12:30 uur in de artiestenfoyer van de Oosterpoort in Groningen.

Met ingetogen gitaar, zacht golvende melodie en de hemelse stem van Brenda Corijn ademt Ão’s nieuwe single ‘Orgulho’ zowel trots als melancholie.

“Tijdens een interview dat ik met mijn moeder deed voor een theaterproductie, moest ik haar vragen of ze jaloers was op mij,” vertelt Brenda. “Ze antwoordde: ‘Jaloers is niet het juiste woord, maar ik zou graag zijn wat jij bent.’ Haar woorden zijn me altijd bijgebleven en leven voort in dit nummer, Orgulho, wat ‘trots’ betekent.”
In 2026 stelt Ão hun nieuwe album ‘Malandra’ voor tijdens een Europese tournee met haltes in Duitsland, Oostenrijk, Luxemburg, Zwitserland, Frankrijk en De Lage Landen.
In eigen land speelt de band op 26 maart in de inmiddels volledig uitverkochte Ancienne Belgique (Main Hall) in Brussel. Eerder die maand staat het viertal in Rotterdam (Rotown) en Utrecht (EKKO), waar beide shows eveneens richting uitverkocht gaan.
Maar je hoeft zo lang niet te wachten: volgende vrijdag (16 januari) speelt Ão in Huize Maas (21u30) tijdens ESNS in Groningen! Welkom.

Even voorstellen - RONKER release their most earnest track to date with “Snuff”
We have been teasing the new RONKER record for a while now. On January 30th, you’ll finally be able to hear "Respect The Hustle, I Won’t Be Your Dog Forever”. Today, we’re throwing another single into the world, the most serious one to date, as the band themselves put it:
"The initial plan was to write half of the record completely sober. We mostly succeeded in that effort. Not quite. We noticed that the songs we wrote in those sober sessions had a very distinct nature compared to the more fierce banger-like songs we hammer out when we have some sort of intoxicants in our veins. Snuff is bleak and brutally honest. Detailing how loneliness wraps it's arms around you and smuthers you in nihilism. It was a very cathartic piece to record, we did it in three takes. The vocal recording is a single one-take lifted from the demo. This is the realest we have ever been. It's also the first time we've recorded piano's and brass on a RONKER song, showing a completely different side of our band."
“Snuff” is the follow-up on RONKER’s first two singles “No Sweat” and “Limelighter”, of which the first landed in both the Kerrang! Chart and Metal Hammer’s Best New Metal Songs of The Week.

About Snuff
“Snuff” is RONKER’s bleakest and earnest track to date, leaving the safety of their fuzz boxes and adopting a broader sonic palet. The result is brooding and genuine song about fighting substance abuse, littered with brass, piano’s and shimmering clean guitars.
Brutaly honest and yet dramatic, “Snuff” bridges the sonic landscape between melancholic indie like The National and the theatrical emo of bands like MCR.
Snuff is RONKER growing up, adopting classic songwriting and thriving doing so.
About the forthcoming album
On sophomore album, "Respect The Hustle, I Won’t Be Your Dog Forever”, RONKER sounds more ambitious than ever. A concept-album about coping mechanisms and the antics of a rock&roll-lifestyle. The band is presenting a more layered and sophisticated sound than its predecessor; the result is a record that is equally shaped by the likes of David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars as it is by Refused or Slayer. Still as aggressive as before, but with a more old-school approach to songwriting with big choruses and even bigger riffage.
Although RONKER likes to profile themselves as pleasant rascals with big hearts full of love, they are not really known for being the happiest kids in school. Now the time has come to bring that anger to the stages again and burn down the expectations with a new batch of big speed-noise songs. Always suffering, forever nervous.
Respect the hustle. Unleash the dogs of war. The RONK is coming. “Respect The Hustle, I Won’t Be Your Dog Forever” is set for release on January 30th!
RONKER will celebrate their release on February 8th with a SOLD OUT show at Ancienne Belgique, Brussels.
RONKER is not the first state-of-the-art speednoise band to ever exist, but they are the first ones to coin the term. Formed in 2020 in the heart of the swamplands of Belgium the band comes naturally weathered and screaming bloody murder.
RONKER’s music can be described as a mix between Danzig-era Misfits and Helmet, equally influenced by the earliest of hardcore-punk and 90’s alternative guitar music.
Since its inception RONKER can mainly be found on the road. Carving out an audience in the most old-school fashion: by playing live. Always visceral, urgent and frantic, RONKER is prime example of being staunchly committed to rock and roll athleticism. Throwing shapes and taking names.

2025 20 jaar kleine dijk
AL 20 JAAR EEN TOONAANGEVENDE CONCERTZAAL
"20 jaar? 4AD is toch een pak ouder?", horen we je tot hier konkelfoezen. Klopt helemaal.
Tussen 1988 en 2005 was 4AD een berucht - en overbevolkt - café dat veel te grote namen
wist te strikken op haar veel te kleine podium. Na de eeuwwisseling begon de nood voor
een permanentere, goed uitgeruste plek te groeien.
Gewapend met geen geld, geen kennis maar wel veel motivatie zocht 4AD een geschikte thuisplek en de nodige middelen. En daar stond hij dan: de versleten Belgacom-loods aan de Kleine Dijk van Diksmuide.
Na een lang parcours en veel vrijwillig geklopte uren ontstonden een café, concertzaal, artiestenhotel, kantoren en repetitiebunkers. 20 jaar later zijn we er nog steeds, relevanter dan ooit en vastbesloten om er nog eens minimaal 20 jaar bij te kletsen.

Iron & Wine, the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Sam Beam, will release their eighth full-length album and sixth for Sub Pop, entitled Hen’s Teeth, worldwide on February 27th.
Hen’s Teeth arrives fully formed but sits as a sibling record, of sorts, to 2024’s acclaimed and Grammy-nominated Light Verse. Its seeds were sewn during the multiple sessions done over the last few years in the foothills of Los Angeles with studio owner/engineer Dave Way (Fiona Apple, Jakob Dylan, Sheryl Crow) at the helm. The record features many familiar names from the Iron & Wine universe - David Garza, Sebastian Steinberg, Tyler Chester, Griffin Goldsmith, Beth Goodfellow, Kyle Crane and Paul Cartwright – lending their talents to a collection of songs that, while complimentary in nature, had their own distinct feel.
Hen’s Teeth includes a few new fresh voices, the Grammy-winning Americana trio I’m With Her - Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan and Sara Watkins - are featured on two tracks. The trio bring their harmonizing prowess to the ebullient track, “Robin’s Egg,” and in the tender, mournful “Wait Up” they make more with less on a song that is sure to become a fan favorite. The record also marks the recording debut of Arden Beam. Arden (one of Beam’s daughters) contributes harmonies and backing vocals on “Roses,” “Singing Saw,” “Defiance, Ohio,” and “Grace Notes.” Her contributions lend a personal poignancy and a wonderful sonic texture to Hen’s Teeth.
The title Hen’s Teeth, much like the birth of this record, takes its inspiration as something that should not exist; a happy accident that fell out of enjoying the company of the aforementioned players in a setting that offered creativity and inspiration. As Beam states : “To me it suggests the impossible. Hen’s teeth do not exist. And that’s what this record felt like: a gift that shouldn’t be there but it is. An impossible thing but it’s real.”
Now, Iron & Wine has shared an official video for their sonically poignant track, “In Your Ocean.” It’s one of several songs on Hen’s Teeth in which lovers are depicted as so deeply entwined they physically merge. “Praying for dry ground / Though I only want to drown / When I find myself swimming in your ocean.”

Lawijtstrijd - Lawijtstrijd - Muziekconcours Waasland
LAWIJSTRIJD, het legendarische muziekconcours van het Waasland is terug in een samenwerkingsverband van De Casino Concertzaal, Lokerse Feesten, Crammerock en jeugdhuizen Den Eglantier (De Nest), De Cramme en Okapi. De wedstrijd wordt ondersteund door Cultuurtuin Waas (Interwaas) en de stads- en gemeentebesturen van Lokeren, Sint- Niklaas en Stekene. (zie info site )
AFTRAP: Drie spots worden vrijgehouden voor jonge talenten uit de buurt die hun kans willen wagen om op één van onze podia te spelen die dag. Zij ontvangen naast podiumervaring en eeuwige roem ook catering en drankbonnen voor een dolle avond. Concreet zijn we op zoek naar allround dj’s, maar ook dj’s en live acts uit de hardere en experimentele elektronische genres zijn welkom met hun inzendingen.
De Tijdloze: Tijd voor 90: De Tijdloze en De Casino slaan jaarlijks de handen in elkaar om het muziekrepertoire van de gouden jaren negentig te vieren. Ontstaan als eindejaarslijst op Studio Brussel en na 35 jaar uitgegroeid tot een muzikaal begrip, vervelde De Tijdloze (100) in 2018 tot een onafhankelijk online radiokanaal (VRT MAX / DAB+) waar onder meer Stijn Van De Voorde (For Those About To Rock) en Roos Van Acker (Jouw Tijdloze Ochtenradio) de pop- en rockgeschiedenis alle eer aandoen. Liefhebbers van nostalgische hits kunnen sindsdien afstemmen op deze volwassen geworden digitale stream om er vierentwintig uur per dag, zeven dagen per week de beste klassiekers te beluisteren.
GREAT GIGS IN THE PARK Tien extraordinaire concertavonden De Casino Concertzaal en het stadsbestuur Sint-Niklaas presenteren een derde editie van Great Gigs in the Park. Deze reeks openluchtconcerten, die plaatsvinden in de feeërieke setting van het historische Casino Park (DC terras), wordt dit jaar gespreid over drie weken (van woensdag 14 juni tot donderdag 6 juli) en bundelt in die periode tien extraordinaire openluchtshows op de Casino[1]kiosk. Gezelligheid is het codewoord tijdens Great Gigs in the Park, want voor elk concertavonden worden slechts 600 tickets aangeboden. Programma De line-up van Great Gigs in the Park biedt een staalkaart van waar de Casino voor staat, zijnde een veelheid aan uiteenlopende muziekgenres: van hardrock en post-metal over elektrofunk en groove tot roots en droompop. De Casino presenteert ook elke concertavond een uitgekiende support-act: laureaten van Lawijtstrijd, speerpunten uit de Brusselse elektrojazz-hype, punk-calamiteiten, een crossover tussen doom en oriëntal, maar ook western swing-adepten en singer-songwriters.
