Met 'BITTERSWEET', de eerste single van zijn aankomende album ‘Late Bloomer’, deelt de Belgisch-Kameroense rapper, producer en multi-instrumentalist Kunde een persoonlijk verhaal over opgroeien, vriendschap, verraad en de nasleep van een diep verlies. Met een sound die schommelt tussen eigentijdse jazz, R&B en hiphop voert hij je mee naar de echo’s van zijn jeugd. De emotionele intensiteit van de track wordt gedragen door de rauwe, soulvolle stem van Fred Gata. Volledig opgenomen met zijn liveband, staat het nummer bol van Belgisch muzikaal vakmanschap en nestelt zich overtuigend naast internationale grootheden als Anderson .Paak, Thundercat en Butcher Brown.
Dankzij ‘Late Bloomer’, dat in het voorjaar van 2026 verschijnt, bevestigt Kunde zijn reputatie als verhalenverteller, componist en musical director. Het album is zowel intiem als groots, geworteld in persoonlijke geschiedenis en tegelijk scherp in zijn reflecties op de menselijke aard. Net als zijn inspiratiebronnen – van Coltrane en J Dilla tot D’Angelo, Don Blackman en Arthur Verocai – slaagt Kunde erin een eigenzinnige sound te creëren die zowel diep persoonlijk als universeel herkenbaar is.
Kunde is een Belgisch-Kameroense rapper, componist en multi-instrumentalist die moeiteloos laveert tussen jazz, R&B, hiphop en afrobeat. Zijn muziek verweeft poëtische rap en storytelling met persoonlijke reflecties en maatschappelijke observaties, gedragen door een rijk instrumentaal weefsel. Met ‘Late Bloomer’ (2026) bouwt hij voort op het momentum van ‘Dandelion’ (2024), waarmee hij nationaal en internationaal aandacht kreeg. Het album, volledig opgenomen met zijn liveband en door Kunde zelf geschreven, gecomponeerd en gemixt, bevestigt zijn rol als artistieke spil en musical director. Opgroeid tussen de polyritmische muziek van zijn vader en nineties hiphop, ontwikkelde hij zich autodidactisch tot pianist, vocalist, bassist en producer. King Princess – the project of Brooklyn-based vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and actor Mikaela Straus – returns next month with her triumphant third record Girl Violence, out September 12th on section1. Following previous singles “RIP KP” and “Cry Cry Cry,” new single “Girls” is out today and finds King Princess at the mercy of a toxic relationship. Characterized by Mikaela’s raspy vocals, moody organ, and backup singers reminiscent of romantic 50s pop, “Girls” is a sultry track that gives into unhealthy desire, which explodes into a final release of distorted guitar. The song embodies the darker side of Girl Violence, where King Princess entertains chaos and self-destruction for the sake of quelling her hunger for companionship and pleasure. King Princess puts it simply: “Girls. Bring me to my knees.”
To celebrate the release of Girl Violence, King Princess is partnering with a curated selection of tattoo shops - all run by women and/or members of the LGBTQ+ community - in the US, Canada, Europe, LATAM and Australia for a global flash tattoo event on Saturday, September 13. Each tattoo shop will be creating custom flash sheets based on the album’s visual world, and everyone tattooed will be entered into a raffle to win prizes, including signed vinyl and prints, Girl Violence merch, and guest list spots for upcoming KP shows. King Princess, section1/Partisan, and each participating tattoo shop will be making donations to local charities who support the LGBTQ+ communities.
Stephen Colbert, and King Princess recently sat down with The New Yorker to discuss the new record. Made in collaboration with Jake Portrait (Lil Yachty, Alex G, Unknown Mortal Orchestra), and Aire Atlantica (breakthrough: SZA’s “Low”), Girl Violence is the sound of Straus picking up the pieces after her world fell apart – fighting for freedom, stepping back from the limelight and major label system, breaking up, moving away, and returning to NYC where she was born and raised. Through it all, she somehow found the agency and creative spirit to fight the misconceptions and create the album she was destined to make, in a potent return to self. Perennially underestimated, she now wields the chip on her shoulder as a weapon, upping the ante and taking the reins on Girl Violence.

Australia’s The Belair Lip Bombs announce their new album, Again, out October 31st via Third Man Records (the first Australian release on the label), and share its lead single, “Hey You.” Again is the follow-up to their 2023 debut, Lush Life, a “punchy, hook-laden rock record…straightforward in sound but borderline unassailable in its construction” (The Guardian). Again marks a new chapter for Australia’s best-kept secret, who have been building a loyal local following since they first formed eight years ago with their earnestness and ultra-sticky power-pop song structures. Again is endlessly listenable and winkingly symbolizes the band’s reintroduction to a global audience.
The Belair Lips Bombs is made up of Maisie Everett, Mike Bradvica, Jimmy Droughton, and Daniel "Dev" Devlin, who first formed the band in a Melbourne suburb, Frankston’s DIY venue Singing Bird Studio. Upon graduating from high school, they juggled band life with day jobs, working to define a sound inspired by classic rock pillars like the Rolling Stones and Television as well as indie stalwarts like the War On Drugs and Stephen Malkmus. They spent the first years as a band opening for Australian favorites like Ladyhawke, Spacey Jane, Slowly Slowly, and Tired Lion before releasing their more grunge-inspired self-titled debut EP in 2018 and then the poppier three-track follow-up, Songs to Do Your Laundry To (2019)
As the next decade rolled in, the Belair Lip Bombs fine-tuned their “limerence-rock” (as Maisie puts it) aesthetic across impassioned and snappy singles. In mapping out what would become Again, the band merged their individual influences more than ever to craft a no-skips collection of indie-rock anthems. It gives the group’s DIY indie-rock style a fresh coat of polish across 10 rollicking new tracks. Again was produced by the band, Nao Anzai (The Teskey Brothers), and Joe White (Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever), marking the first time the Belair Lip Bombs worked with a producer,
Maisie, who was born in Scotland and moved to Australia at 3 years old, tends to fall back into an early love of vocal behemoths, Queen when she writes the band’s prominent melodies and harmonies, as on today’s single, “Hey You.” The song is a jubilant melody built from a looping synth that’s bound to inspire listeners to leap up and dance it out. “Having a synth loop driving a whole song is something that we've never done before,” Maisie says. Dev adds: “We kind of leaned into that and pushed to make the scope of the song bigger than some of the other songs in the album.” The accompanying video was directed by Angus Fielder.
The Belair Lip Bombs pull you in immediately with their self-coined “yearn-core” combination of quick-footed rhythms, warm and fuzzy guitar melodies, and Maisie’s cathartic vocals. As they move into an exciting new era of their careers, their unshakable friendship, wide-open hearts, and knack for foot-tapping melodies will no doubt endear them to legions of fans in search of musical transcendence.

Rudolf Hecke over “The Ending Song”: ‘Als ik mijn dochter Querelle van 21 vertel “misschien is dit wel het laatste album dat ik maak” dan kijkt ze me verbolgen aan en antwoordt: oudere mensen hebben niet het prerogatief van “voor het laatst”, ook jongeren weten hun pad soms abrupt afgebroken. De stilte die dan valt is die van een schuldig man. 45 jaar geleden ging ik op pad en ik bewandel het nog steeds. Zonder overrompelend succes, maar nog steeds zonder meester noch God. Met de geest en het hart van de eerste stap, er valt nog zoveel nieuws te vertellen al kom ik stilaan adem te kort. Het is een zegen die vele jonge mensen wordt miskend. ‘The Ending Song’ is een lied van vertroosting, de opdracht die ik mezelf heb opgelegd mijn eigen pad te banen, het leven ermee plaveien, is rijker geworden. Het wenkende einde doorzien als een eeuwig nieuw begin. De prachtige, zalvende, jonge stem van Yassin Joris helpt me hierbij. God=doG is het collectief rond Belpop-icoon Rudolf Hecke en bestaat uit Yassin Joris (Jokke, Naima Joris), Nikkie van Lierop (IH8CAMERA, Erotic Dissidents, Praga Khan), Klaas Tomme (Iskander Moon, Illuminae) en Toon Derison (Steven De Bruyn, El Fish).
Rudolf Hecke bracht in 1989 zijn eerste solo-album “God is dog spelled backwards” uit. De plaat werd prompt door De Morgen uitgeroepen tot beste Belgische album van het jaar. Humo kroonde hem tot “De Nick Cave van Vlaanderen”. Vervolgens trok Rudolf op een never-ending tour langs jeugdclubs en festivals. Hij trad ook vaak op als support van internationale topacts; Iggy Pop, Sugarcubes, Triffids, Einsturzende Neubauten, SPK, Peter Hammill, Bob Geldof, Björk…
Daarvoor had hij al Belpop geschiedenis geschreven met Company Of State, ‘electronic body music’ pioniers, waarmee hij door Europa tourde met o.a. Eyeless in Gaza, Neon Judgement, Front 242, La Muerte…
36 jaar en vele muzikale avonturen (Rudolf kent een indrukwekkende spreidstand als songwriter van psychedelic pop met Pop In Wonderland over soul&rnb met Yasmina Karraz tot verstilde folk met Elsje Helewaut en Vera Coomans) later is hij terug met een sterk, donker en sfeervol album dat vergelijkbaar is met het werk van bijvoorbeeld This Mortal Coil: verschillende stijlen van nummers gezongen door verschillende bandleden. Het album is geproduceerd door Hecke, David Poltrock en Ian Caple (Tindersticks, Tricky, Alain Bashung…). Ook special guest Elsje Helewaut verzorgt de leadvocals op één van de songs.
Tot overmaat van spreidstand: Rudolf heeft ook bewezen een begaafd auteur en spreker te zijn. Hij tourt met diverse lezingen (Gainsbourg, Orbison, De Sixties) zeer intensief door Vlaanderen en eind 2024 publiceerde hij zijn negende boek ‘Hoe ruw is de steen?’, waarin hij zich verdiept in de vrijmetselarij. De reis naar dat boek ging gepaard met de opname van nieuwe God=doG-nummers. Er ontstond een wederzijdse invloed, symboliek, vragen, inzichten, reflectie.
In de talrijke mysterieuze en fascinerende liveshows, wordt een ijzersterke, intense performance doorweven met zeer persoonlijke verhalen van Hecke, gastoptredens van auteurs die rock ’n roll uitademen en een interactief ritueel dat geen enkel publiek koud laat. Kortom Rudolf Hecke & God=doG staat garant voor een unieke en zéér aparte avond.

Oproer shared their last single before they will release their long awaited second album 'The Catch'. In Something To Die For, front singer Dries describes how a single fleeting glance can shake up your entire world. A brief and seemingly innocent contact that sweeps away all the solid ground beneath your feet.
The Belgian band OPROER has been known to leave no one unmoved with their intoxicating mix of poppy alt rock and funky postpunk. Two years after their debut album We're All Late Tonight, the five-piece cuts deeper with follow-up The Catch, once again relentlessly serving highly infectious tunes and riffs.
When OPROER started to attract nationwide media attention by 2023, they had already gained an electrifying live reputation with their energetic and tight live shows, earning them a loyal fanbase. From supporting Fantastic Negrito on a successful European tour to selling out iconic venues like De Vooruit (Ghent) and Het Depot (Louvain), the only is undeniably up for Oproer. After a handful of singles and the Closed Session EP(recorded live in one take, 2021), the band released their debut We're All Late Tonight in late 2023: a collection of poppy/funky alt rock songs with an edge, presented with a sold-out and steamy release show at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels.
On sophomore album The Catch, OPROER digs deeper, with frontman/lyricist Dries van der Schueren drawing inspiration from turbulent times. 'I lost a few people close to me, some people in the family were struggling with health issues and I'm completely swamped with a gruelling renovation, while feeling the need to write music and make a new album. It's a challenge to try and find a balance between the things happening around you and your own personal issues. That struggle runs through a lot of the songs, and my job as a therapist helped to pour some of that intense stuff in the songs.'
The Catch was recorded with Mathias Stal (producer/engineer/mixer), who also worked on Oproer's debut album and has collaborated with acts like Kids With Buns, Ise and Ramkot. The artwork is by Studio Koevoet, which also designed the artwork for first single Cold Feet and, by extension, are creating an entire new visual identity for OPROER.
On 6 December The Catch will be presented with a release show at the Ancienne Belgique. It's Oproer's second time playing at the AB, in 2023 they sold out the AB Balroom in no time, setting a record for a beginning Belgian band.

Helden in het Park brengt mensen van alle leeftijden en achtergronden samen. Muziekclub N9 organiseert het gratis muziekfestival al sinds 1995 onder de warme avondzon in het Heldenpark in Eeklo. Het is dé plek om je volledig te verliezen in livemuziek en een gezellige, zomerse sfeer.

Vier donderdagen op rij kan je op Helden in het Park terecht voor onvergetelijke gratis concerten. Elke avond zorgen twee (inter)nationale topbands voor fantastische optredens op de main stage aan het kasteel.

Expect the unexpected and lean into a musical odyssey that conjures sounds of the netherworlds and intertwines old primordial knowledge with avant-garde pop music, screaming metal, folk music and immersive electronic soundscapes; From the beautiful and haunting ambient landscapes of “Windharp”, the Norwegian folk dance inspired track “Hallingen , the self-collected ghost stories which inspired “Kwaidan”, the genuine joyfulness of “Whispering Forest, Echoing Mountains” and “The Ritual” - a song inspired by a raw shamanistic ritual that Sturle once found himself engaged in.
Armed with a brigade of instruments the two multiinstrumentalists are utilizing a wide array of different melodic instruments; including Nordic folk instruments like Nyckelharpa and goat horns, to Chinese Guzheng, West-African Kora, Marxophone, Fula flute, Hungarian Cimbalom, Waterphone and dozens of different folk instruments that they have gathered during their travels. The soundscape is pushed further blending them with distorted imperfect sounds, synthesizers and custom made electronics. Although mostly recorded in their hometown of Stavanger, where the brothers have their studio, they put together different segments of the album in different locations across the world absorbing the various landscapes to inspire the record; these ranged from remote cabins in the Norwegian mountaintops to abandoned industrial estates, retired Soviet Navy ships in Eastern Europe, Villages in Uganda and in a desolated clocktower during a snowstorm on the Faroe Islands. These untraditional and often enchanting recording environments breathe into the album’s rich tapestry . The duo’s artistic creations encompass several genres; both the tranquil and intimate “Drifter” as well as the shamanistic performance of “Galdring”, a vehement musical expression fuelled by primal screams, ceremonial Sámi drums, wooden logs, bones, harps and distant cow horns before segueing into an intense blend of world music.
Early 2021 Sturle Dagsland released their first full-length album. Their debut won one of the prestigious Edvard Awards, honouring the best Norwegian albums of the year. After signalling their bold new chapter this summer with the explosive track 'NEVER AGAIN', Liverpudlian fourpiece STONE continue their return to their raw and direct essence with commanding new single 'MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO', out now via V2 Records. They have also announced the release of their second album 'AUTONOMY' on 20th February and a host of 2026 UK and European tour dates.
With their new album, the band were able to revel in the freedom they had to make the record they really wanted to create; a self-reflective and autonomous body of work that is an honest time capsule of life. Written during the aftermath of their first album, the band unified together to create their most collaborative, personal and real music yet - whilst learning to have fun again.
New single 'MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO' was the first track written for the album and confronts head-on the themes of self-control and perception vs reality. With metaphorical yet frank lyrics, commanding vocals and brash guitars, the track is a fast-paced assault on the senses. The energetic and gritty video was filmed behind the scenes whilst on tour. Lead vocalist and guitarist Fin Power says,
"'MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO' is about temptation and the chaos of partying when control slips away. The birdy in your ear screams for more and the mirror only reflects something you do not want to see. The chant of 'MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO' captures that loss of control. Through sharp metaphors the song also reflects on the industry and the tension between authenticity and the image that media prefers. Chasing mice around the board and being a vampire both echo the restless soulless nights that come with the scene. This track is gritty, unfiltered and restless, pulling you into the madness of nights that feel endless."
STONE have built a loyal community with their fans through their wild and energy-driven live shows and their spontaneous, bursting at the seams house party performances. After a recent packed-out festival performance at Pukkelpop (and a post-show secret house party on a bus), this month sees them take their house parties on the road with four small sold-out shows in London, Newcastle, Manchester and Sheffield. They have also announced a headline 9-date UK and European tour in April 2026, kicking off in Glasgow on 4th April and ending in Paris on 17th April, with a show at London's Oslo on 8th April. Na de aankondiging van zijn tweede album Dark Dog, uit in januari 2026 bij Wellington Records, lost Vincent Coomans nu de single Lower Your Gun — een aangrijpend afscheidsnummer dat balanceert tussen woede, verdriet en berusting. Lower Your Gun begint eerst dreigend, daarna meteen klein en fragiel — slechts een stem, een drum en een paar spaarzame akkoorden. Gaandeweg groeit het nummer uit tot een emotionele stoet van klanken: een gitaarriff die steeds meer naar de voorgrond komt, blazers die zwellen, een koor dat langzaam binnenvalt en een aangrijpende vioolpartij. De invloed van Sufjan Stevens is duidelijk voelbaar in de weelderige arrangementen en de emotionele gelaagdheid van het lied: intiem en bombastisch tegelijk, breekbaar maar onvermijdelijk krachtig. Vincent Coomans is een muzikant die woont en werkt in België. Rouw is een centraal thema in zijn muziek. In 2020 publiceerde hij zijn instinctief geschreven en opgenomen slaapkamerEP Can't you see that I Slowly distance myself from you. Met enkele tracks, zoals One Way Love, haalde hij enkele editorials op Spotify (Made in Belgium en Rustig & Mooi). In 2023 verscheen zijn eerste album The Great Rebuild bij Illuminine Records. Zijn muziek werd opgepikt door het iconische radioprogramma Duyster en Culture Club (Radio 1) en kreeg aandacht van muziekblogs Damusic, Luminous Dash, Dansende Beren, Beehyve en magazine Focus Knack. In 2023 werd hij artist in residence in Muziekcentrum Dranouter en mocht hij zo ook optreden op Festival Dranouter. In 2023 bracht hij samen met Illuminine Catch The Night in Marble uit. Hun debuutalbum "ANGUS McSIX and the Sword of Power" werd het meest succesvolle power metal-debuut ooit en bereikte direct de tiende plaats in de Duitse albumcharts. This year's edition introduced two spectacular new stages: the Crystal Garden and the Morpho Stage, each with its own distinctive design and atmosphere. Numero Group announces the release of Hüsker Dü’s 1985: The Miracle Year, a live 4 LP box set, out November 7th. Witness the transcendent Minneapolis punk trio tearing into the most incendiary year of its existence, captured live on stage at First Avenue in perhaps the highest fidelity recordings of the band’s lauded SST era. 1985: The Miracle Year includes Beau Sorenson’s restoration of an entire January 30, 1985 set, plus 20 extra live tracks from the year’s touring schedule, and a deluxe booklet detailing twelve months of history-making Hüsker Dü. Along with today’s announcement, four songs from the box set are available to stream now. Titled Jan. 30, First Ave Pt. 2, the collection features “The Girl Who Lives On Heaven Hill,” “I Apologize,” “If I Told You” and “Folklore.” What is the sound of a legend being written?
Looking at 1985 through the dynamic lens of independent DIY music, mid-decade, there was a year-long succession of leaps by Hüsker Dü, each building on the powerful and undeniable sprint from the scrappy punk institution SST to the artistic empathy of Warner Bros. As observers began to catch on, testimonials came from many quarters, including the New York Times, which recognized the band as “the best to have emerged from the hardcore scene.” Consistent with such praise, Hüsker Dü revealed a heightened creative pace rarely, if ever, seen in any musical era. Before or since. After blowing the doors off the burgeoning alt-rock movement with Zen Arcade the previous July, the band dropped New Day Rising just six months later on January 14, 1985, and then never stopped chasing the Hidden Beach sunrise that adorned that album’s cover.
On January 30, 1985, Minneapolis reached -11° at show time, marking 19 points of mercilessly dropped mercury from the day’s 8° apex. The 1500 attendees inside First Avenue, however, wouldn’t be needing so much as a T-shirt, let alone the nearest fiberfill parka: from the first blinding moments of “New Day Rising,” it was clear that Bob Mould, Grant Hart, and Greg Norton had arrived intent on setting every molecule in the room alight. Their setlist displayed a night-long cascade of fireballs chosen from Everything Falls Apart, Metal Circus, Zen Arcade, and New Day Rising, and five new songs that would reappear later on Flip Your Wig. They also made several nods to the band’s rock forbears, with a ballistic take on The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High,” a turbulent spin on The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” featuring Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirner, a pop-punk remake of “Ticket To Ride, ” and closing with their signature cover of Sonny Curtis’s Mary Tyler Moore theme “Love Is All Around.”
Considering the late-January 2011 house fire that consumed a precious portion of the Hüsker Dü archive, it has to be reckoned as a kind of subordinate miracle that the 1985 First Avenue tapes survived at all. They deliver peak Dü at full gallop through already beloved material, still years shy of fully cementing their status as a blueprint for the alternative rock skyscraper to come. This box set celebrates these tapes, strikingly perhaps the highest fidelity Hüsker Dü recordings ever produced during the band’s lauded SST years. “When I think of that time,” Greg comments, “it was three guys doing what they loved, having fun, and basically showing other people that you can be true to yourself, true to your music, and not have to bow down to fashion or expectations to make something really great.
