De gelauwerde zanger Sachal Vasandani is klaar om zijn nieuwste studioalbum Best Life Now - met drum maestro Nate Smith in de stoel van producer (en op drums) - uit te brengen op 27 maart 2026 ( distributie via l'Autre distribution)
Met Best Life Now maakt Nate Smith zijn debuut als producer en voegt hij de titel van platenproducer toe aan zijn gerenommeerde carrière die al veel lof oogstte met zijn virale drumvideo's en samenwerkingen met onder andere Vulfpeck's The Fearless Flyers, Brittany Howard en Emily King.
Op Best Life Now werkt Sachal samen met Nate voor een verzameling vibey, oprechte jazz/soul/R&B exposities over moderne liefde. Hey Little" was written years ago for someone else to sing. Now I am a father; the lyrics are realigned and rearranged. Catherine Irwin sings with great soul. I asked Ryder McNair to listen to Madonna's "Dear Jessie" for inspiration on the string arrangements. Brent Stewart and his daughter Maya brought a creative partnership to the video-making process. The shoot was seamless and joyful. Brent spoke of wanting to incorporate double-exposure (they shot on film) and I mentioned the Burt Lancaster film The Swimmer. Both Maya and Brent jumped on that idea with gusto, and friends here in Louisville let us film in their indoor pool in the dead of winter. Notable of course is Thomas Deakin's beautiful clarinet solo. And the real live goats.

Bonnie "Prince" Billy - They Keep Trying To Find You (Official Video)
Bonnie "Prince" Billy – the persona/stage-name of musician Will Oldham - will release a new studio record titled We Are Together Again on March 6th via Domino/No Quarter. The follow-up to The Purple Bird, Oldham began working on this set before his Nashville-sojourn to record that album, and picked them up again last spring, taking these 10 songs into End of an Ear Studios in Louisville with his current tour mates Jacob Duncan (flute and saxophone) and Thomas Deakin (clarinet, whistle, baritone electric guitar, accordion, cornet), along with Ryder McNair, Chris Bush, Ned Oldham and Erin Hill.
Oldham notes: "This record was made closer to the Ohio River than any I've been involved with since 1993's Palace Brothers There Is No-One What Will Take Care of You. Louisville's current-and-past vital musical community is highlighted on every song. Catherine Irwin, who sang on the BPB release Ease Down the Road, is back here on "Hey Little" and "Vietnam Sunshine". Lacey Guthrie, Tory Fisher and Katie Peabody, the three front women of the band Duchess, sing together on the opening and closing songs, parallel odes to the beast that is fear."
However dimly we perceive it, we are living through a change of worlds. The one we were born into is slipping away, reshaped and denuded by human action. What remains is the question of what we will carry forward, and how we will refuse to surrender ourselves. We Are Together Again feels like an answer. In Oldham's songs - and in the circle of others gathered beneath the name Bonnie "Prince" Billy - friendship, community, and the stubborn joy of making art with others become a means of persistence. This isn't a denial of collapse, which would be delusion, but a kind of defiance: remaining fully human, fully joyful, in a world with a diminishing horizon.*
Jim Marlowe engineered the album sessions and co-produced it with Oldham. The first track to be shared from the record is "They Keep Trying To Find You" alongside a video produced by Jake Forman and choreographed and directed by Abi Elliott.
We Are Together Again doesn't resolve fear; it meets it with harmony. It's a record about the stubborn miracle of community, and about how, so long as there are voices asking together, the asking itself becomes hope.
Oldham's 2025 release The Purple Bird was an album of the year at MOJO, Uncut and Aquarium Drunkard while The Times called it, "a superb, warm, involving work."
Alongside the album announcement, a London outstore at St Giles' Church in Camberwell has been announced for later this month.

Met Dromen brengt MURI een single uit die naadloos aansluit bij het centrale thema van hun aankomende debuutalbum Tussen Zinnen. Het leven komt namelijk zelden netjes op volgorde. Dingen gebeuren tegelijk, plannen schuiven, de wereld is voortdurend in beweging. Soms lijkt alles vanzelf te gaan, soms voelt het alsof je voortdurend moet bijsturen en op pauze wil drukken.
In Dromen klinkt het gevoel dat daarbij ontstaat. Afleiding is overal. Aandacht versnipperd. Wat telt, raakt ondergesneeuwd door de dagelijkse rompslomp. De tekst cirkelt rond een eenvoudige, herkenbare vraag: waarom doe ik wat ik doe — en doet het er eigenlijk toe?
Die vraag staat niet op zichzelf. Ze sluit aan bij de bredere thematiek van Tussen Zinnen, dat vertrekt vanuit een andere prangende vraag: hoe beweeg je mee met de chaos van het leven, zonder jezelf kwijt te raken? Dromen vertrekt vanuit een gevoel van vervreemding — het besef dat aandacht voortdurend wordt weggetrokken van wat er echt toe doet — en beweegt tussen afleiding en helderheid, tussen verdwalen en opnieuw herinneren. Alsof even stilstaan nodig is om weer richting te voelen.
Dat wordt ook hoorbaar in de laatste woorden van het nummer. Waar de tekst eerst blijft hangen in “Weet het niet meer”, eindigt Dromen met “Weet het nu weer” en “Ik herinner me ’t weer”. Geen groot antwoord, maar een verschuiving: door even te kijken, wordt iets wat verloren leek opnieuw zichtbaar.

Dromen zet daarmee de toon voor Tussen Zinnen. Berichten, verwachtingen, nieuws, agenda’s — nog nooit kregen we als mensen zoveel prikkels tegelijk binnen. Op het album verkent frontvrouw en bassiste Muriel Boulanger wat dat met een mens doet, en hoe je je daartoe kunt verhouden zonder uit het oog te verliezen wat echt belangrijk is.
Die zoektocht vertaalt zich ook muzikaal. De vinylplaat laat bewust meer ademruimte voor het MURI-strijkkwartet, waarvan de arrangementen werden geschreven door MURI’s eigen toetseniste Eline Flintrop, ook opgeleid als componiste. Die keuze is geen detail: de strijkers brengen ruimte in de muziek en vormen het kloppend hart van de plaat, voortgestuwd door de energie van drummer Jonathan Callens. Samen met Muriels poëtische teksten houdt het strijkkwartet het evenwicht in dat typische, net-niet-te-ver-buiten-de-lijntjes-kleuren dat MURI muzikaal zo kenmerkt.
MURI stelt haar debuutalbum Tussen Zinnen, op 19 februari 2026 om 20u live voor met strijkkwartet in de Minardschouwburg in Gent.

With »News from Planet Zombie«, The Notwist return to view after years of exploration and experiment with an album rich in both melancholy and positivity, sketched across a suite of thrilling, fiercely committed pop songs. It’s an album reflecting a chaotic world, but responding with warmth and generosity, to achieve creative and spiritual consolidation. Recorded in their home base of Munich, it reconnects with the security of the local to explore the troubles of the global: a guiding impulse writ large across this album’s eleven songs. It’s also the first studio album since 1995’s »12« that the band recorded together in the studio in its expanded live formation.
A new album by The Notwist is always a curious endeavour; their musical language is as consistent and resilient as the contexts for creativity are unpredictable and ever shifting. For »News from Planet Zombie«, the core trio of Markus and Micha Acher and Cico Beck embraced the plural possibilities of writing together, bringing songs to the collective and then arranging, rehearsing and recording that material live, in the studio.
The result is an album that’s energised, fully in ›the now‹, with spectacular moments where you can hear the magic bubbling up in the dynamic between the Achers, Beck, and fellow members Theresa Loibl, Max Punktezahl, Karl Ivar Refseth, and Andi Haberl. If »Teeth« begins »News from Planet Zombie« quietly and reflectively, by »X-Ray« everyone’s supercharged, blasting out future anthems with the collective energy cranked up high. The chiming keys of »Propeller« skim the instrumental’s surface like stones across burbling water; »The Turning« clangs its way into one of the album’s most heartwarming melodies.
»News from Planet Zombie« was recorded over one week at Import Export, a non-profit space for arts and music. You can tell, too; there are some pleasingly rough edges here, as though The Notwist’s striving for hazy perfection means they’re also confident enough to let the songs breathe and mutate between our ears. That openness to chance also takes in guest turns from friends both local and international, reflective of a cosmopolitan Munich: Enid Valu joins in on vocals, while Haruka Yoshizawa guests on taishōgoto and harmonium, Tianping Christoph Xiao on clarinet, and Mathias Götz on trombone.
The Notwist aren’t best known for cover versions, but »News from Planet Zombie« features two: a gorgeous version of Neil Young’s »Red Sun« (from 2000’s »Silver & Gold«), which the group originally developed for a theatre play directed by Jette Steckel, and a take on Athens, Georgia folk-pop gang Lovers’ »How the Story Ends«. They slot into the album’s narrative perfectly, nestling in like old friends, revealing The Notwist as poetic interpreters. Played well, the cover version is both acknowledgement of fellow travellers and act of generosity, and The Notwist nail both aspects here.
And that narrative, the way the album plays out? »News from Planet Zombie« acknowledges the distress of our current geopolitical impasse, while reminding us there are collective ways forward. Fed through the figure of the zombie, Markus Acher explores our anxieties: »In the title and some lyrics I reference B- and horror-movies, which is a reference to the crazy world at the moment, which seems to be like a really bad and unrealistic B-movie.« But there’s a reminder here not to lose the thread entirely, that these things, too, will pass.
»The river here in Munich I often go to has been there forever and will be there long after us,« Acher reflects, pinpointing an important source of succour for him, »always the same but always changing. Very calming, but also always reminding me that like this river time only flows into one direction and you can’t go back. Every moment is very precious.«

Further into 'Dream Life', "Alpha Centauri" is a haunting introspective slice of pop magic that allows Marta’s gorgeous vocal to prowl in nostalgia for teenage times, rediscovering her inner child while a distant tuba carries a counter melody. Even voorstellen – Turpentine Valley – single ‘pando’, album ‘Veuel’
Op 12 februari 2026 laat Turpentine Valley Pando als tweede single uit z’n nieuwe album Veuel op de wereld los. Pando was het eerste nummer dat klaar lag voor deze nieuwe plaat en is ontegensprekelijk ook het hardste van de 10 nummers op Veuel.
In Pando walst de band vanaf de eerste noot aan een rotvaart over je heen. Een welkome ingetogen passage laat je even naar adem happen vooraleer je opnieuw onder te dompelen in het repetitieve mantra van riffs dat het nummer zo typeert. Pando is vanaf 12 februari 2026 digitaal beschikbaar op alle streaming platforms.
Eén dag later, op 13 februari volgt de video van deze tweede single.
Veuel verschijnt op 6 maart 2026 op LP via Dunk!Records (EU) en A Thousand Arms Records (US) en op CD via Ripcord Records (UK). Turpentine Valley is vanaf dan opnieuw live aan het werk te zien, onder andere op Alcatraz Festival in Kortrijk.
Tien jaar na hun ontstaan klinkt Turpentine Valley donkerder, rijper en vastberadener dan ooit. Op hun derde plaat Veuel (2026) pakt het trio nu eens compromisloos log en massief uit, dan weer meeslepend en melancholisch. Hun instrumentale post-metal vertelt het verhaal dat je er zelf bij invult, als je je er maar voor open stelt. Na Etch (2019) – waarvan drie nummers opdoken in soundtrack van de Netflix-serie De Twaalf – en Alder (2022) knaagt Veuel (2026) gretig verder aan de grenzen van het genre. En dat doet het hard, innemend en nietsontziend.

Yerra Yerra is een Belgisch powertrio. Hun verfijnde geluid, diep geworteld in het nu, combineert rauwe kracht met verrassende finesse en ongepolijste emoties. De band brengt een zeer overtuigende mix van heavy rock, punk en wave met invloeden uit de jaren 80/90, zonder al te veel aandacht te besteden aan de grenzen van elk genre. Alles kan bij Yerra Yerra, zolang het maar leidt tot een explosieve liveset, zoals al vele malen is bewezen op talrijke Belgische en Nederlandse podia.
Het veelgeprezen debuutalbum van Yerra Yerra kwam uit in 2023 en leverde hen naast vele goede recensies en veel livewerk ook de status van Belofte van de Maand bij Radio Willy op, compleet met een bijbehorende livesessie.

Traditionele invloeden komen samen met hedendaags experiment: een aksakritme wordt getransformeerd tot een hypnotiserende, dramatische soundscape en een bevreemdende beat. Voor alle duidelijkheid, we hebben heel veel foto's maar hier en daar zijn er memorabele concerten gepasseerd waarvan we geen of nauwelijks foto-materiaal hebben, bvb Ben Howard (Zaal De Zwerver, 2011), Black Mountain (Zaal De Zwerver, 2011), Other Lives (Terminus Oostende, 2012), North Mississippi Allstars (Zaal De Zwerver, 2013), Melvins (Zaal De Zwerver, 2023), vele anderen, maar zeker ook de eerste dertig jaar Leffingeleuren.
Ook mensen met een opmerkelijk verhaal of unieke herinnering die aan Leffingeleuren verbonden is mogen ons contacteren.

Op 14 februari hebben we een andere held uit het verleden op bezoek, de Amerikaanse DJ FELIX DA HOUSECAT die in 2004 een 2006 waanzinnige DJ-sets bracht op Leffingeleuren. Hij bereikte in de loop van zijn carrière duizelingwekkende hoogtes met wereldwijde hits als 'Sinnerman', 'Silver Screen' en 'Madam Hollywood.**

Het concert van DE DOLFIJNTJES op vrijdag 6 maart was zo snel UITVERKOCHT dat Wim Opbrouck en Wim Willaert beslisten om er nog een tweede show in Leffinge bij te doen! Voor het concert van zaterdag 7 maart zijn er dus opnieuw volop tickets beschikbaar.
De Dolfijntjes trokken zich tijdens de hete zomer van 2025 terug in Loge 5 van Muziekcentrum Track in Kortrijk en schudden er enkele nieuwe poëtische meesterwerken uit hun staartvin als: Marche en Famenne, Annie Eet Gezond, Tous Les Dimanches, O Land, Django, Mie en Gie... maar ook vintage Dolfijntjes-meezingers Geofrey, Kom toch were, Monique, Verre Rien,Prière, Wit Konin, Stop de bus, Margrietje en vele, vele andere blijven op de playlist staan.
Het prettig gestoorde, surrealistische, eclectische, caleidoscopische ensemble De Dolfijntjes bestaat uit Wim Opbrouck, Wim Willaert, Luc Byttebier, Marc Holvoet en Dick Vanhoegaerden, versterkt met frisse virtuozen Yves Fernandez (trompet), Marc De Maeseneer (saxofoon) en Hannes Pype (gitaar).**

MayWay records news - Ão nieuw album ‘Malandra’
De afgelopen jaren zette de band Ão zichzelf op de kaart in België en Europa met hun betoverende mix van elektronica, artpop, afropop, saudade en alternative latin. Het viertal groeide uit tot een grensverleggende, unieke stem die zich onttrekt aan elk genrelabel. Hun uiteenlopende achtergronden en invloeden vloeien moeiteloos samen tot een hybride sound zoals ook Stromae, Rosalía of C. Tangana hen voordeden.

Frontvrouw Brenda Corijn, die put uit haar Mozambikaans-Portugese roots, zingt zowel in het Portugees als in het Engels. Haar warme stem versmelt met het zuiderse gitaarspel van Siebe Chau, de gelaagde elektronica van Jolan Decaestecker en Bert Peyffers’ eclectische percussiewerk.
In 2023 debuteerde het viertal met het alom geprezen album Ao Mar. Dat leverde hen lovende recensies, een MIA-nominatie en veel airplay op. Live bouwden ze een indrukwekkend palmares op met tours in binnen- en buitenland.
Hun tweede album Malandra is een vurig en meeslepend vervolg; nog gelaagder, ritmischer, tederder én harder. De songs bewegen zich tussen omarming en dreiging. Het geluid is ruimer, sensueler, speelser en ruwer, de adem dieper en het ritme urgenter.
De titel - het Portugese malandra - laat zich niet eenduidig vertalen. De betekenis is ambigu, net als de plaat zelf. Een malandra is een vrouw die zich met humor, intelligentie en charme door het leven beweegt, steeds haar verlangens volgt en de regels naar haar hand zet. Ze is naast speels en vrij, ook sluw, misleidend en manipulatief, maar altijd trouw aan zichzelf.
Alle tracks op de plaat krijgen elk een gezicht: een personage dat de hoofdrol krijgt in het artwork en de videoclips. Dertien nummers die als personen de afgelopen jaren vorm hebben gekregen en met de band hebben meegereisd. Zo is er Orgulho, vol trots en weemoed. De opzwepende twijfel in Talvez. Cinza, dat kritisch het leed schetst in een landschap van as. Of Cada Vez, dat blijft weglopen op wispelturige milonga-pasjes. Maar ook de slapeloze, extatische beats van Aren't You Tired en trouwe Volta, dat je geduldig vraagt om terug te keren. Het album opent met de “drums des oordeels” van Me Condena, waarin de malandra zichzelf voor het gerecht stelt: “Veroordeel me” - waar ze iedereen uitnodigt om dat doorheen het album samen met haar te doen.
Malandra ontstond onderweg - tussen tours, tussen landen en tussen versies van zichzelf. Het creatieve proces bij Ão is nooit rechtlijnig. Songs ontsprongen uit vergeten akkoorden, verborgen jams, flarden tekst, accidentjes, iPhone footage... Ze blijven hongerig zoeken naar nieuwe klanken, met als resultaat een rijke productie en het gebruik van nieuwe instrumenten zoals charango, bandoneon, tiple, blazers, synths en cuica. De voedingsbodem blijft de serendipiteit en emotionele impact en net als de Malandra blijft de band steeds trouw aan zichzelf. Ze creëerde met Malandra een ode aan complexiteit, veelvormigheid en aan het zoeken in al haar gedaanten. Aan schaamte en glans, chaos en rust, liefde en escapisme.
Live zorgt Ão voor een meeslepende en zinderende ervaring die publieken in heel Europa betovert. Hun dynamische sound - variërend van fragiele, intieme melodieën tot dansbare beats - dompelt je onder in een bezwerende wereld van percussie, elektronica, intrigerend gitaarspel waar de gloeiende stem van Corijn doorbreekt. Je weet nooit waar wat vandaan komt. Deze unieke atmosfeer brengt hen naar een brede waaier aan festivals en clubs: van elektronische- en rockpodia tot pop-, folk- en jazzfestivals.
In 2026 stelt Ão hun nieuwe album voor op een internationale tournee die halt houdt in onder meer Italië, Duitsland, Oostenrijk, Luxemburg, Zwitserland, Frankrijk en Nederland. In eigen land was de albumreleaseshow in de Grote Zaal van Ancienne Belgique (26/03) drie maanden op voorhand uitverkocht.
Ão spreek je uit als miauw zonder mi, [ɐ͂w̃] voor de fonetici. Het betekent niets en alles tegelijk: iets moois [aaw], iets droevigs of pijnlijk [oww], een gevoel van verwondering [auuw]. Maar in deze bio betekent het vooral [iets wat je nog nooit gehoord hebt].

H et aankomende album van Sports, het Amerikaans indie-pop duo, bestaat uit Christian Theriot en Cale Chronister. Het album belooft een mix van alt-pop met groovy elektronica en een experimentele productie, die doet denken aan artiesten als Parcels, Still Woozy, en Tame Impala. Ze genieten al van bekendheid door hits als You Are The Right One, Panama en Baby Baby.
Het duo heeft ook aangekondigd in het najaar van 2026 op tour te gaan, waarbij ze ook naar Nederland, in België en Noord-Frankrijk (Tourcoing) . Verder komen ze voor een show tijdens London Calling.
De plaat is self-titled met een goede reden; het is hun eerste zelf-geproduceerde en zelf opgenomen plaat als het duo Sports. Therior en Chronister zijn al vrienden en muzikale partners sinds ze kinderen zijn en met deze plaat zijn ze teruggegaan naar de basis van samen in een studio zitten en alles zelf maken. Het resultaat is een intuïtieve plaat, waar veel ruimte is voor plezier en experiment en dat hoor je terug in deze warme en interessant plaat.

Following the release of their debut, The Haunted Youth return with details of their second studio album, Boys Cry Too — set to drop on May 8, 2026 via Play It Again Sam. Beginning as the solo project of artist Joachim Liebens, the band today reveal the first single to be lifted from the record, deathwish, featuring fellow collaborator and Orlando-based singer-songwriter, Max Fry.
On Boys Cry Too, Joachim Liebens abandons the fragile, bedroom-pop innocence of Dawn Of The Freak — a debut that has since earned cult status back home — in favour of something far more confrontational and emotionally charged. From the towering eight-minute opener in my head to the closing track ghost girl, the album lets go of restraint in favour of something more raw, blending fragile melodies with distortion and aggression to create a sound that feels both intimate and explosive.
"I was a kid on Dawn Of The Freak," reflects Liebens today. "It sounds almost like nursery rhymes to me – everything is so fragile and childlike, like a cry for attention." He pauses before breaking into a wide, Cheshire Cat grin. "And now I'm angsty and kicking in doors."
Boys Cry Too certainly feels like a more fiery and red-blooded record than Dawn Of The Freak. While you can lose yourself in wake up's icy morning-after-the-night-before regret, or the propulsive optimism of the New Order-like 'i hear voices', the mood is frequently one of anguish and aggression. Take murder me's goth grunge thrash, or the ground zero annihilation represented in instrumental epic falling to pieces.
"I very much felt like a boy on this record. The last album was more androgynous in that respect, but this time I was really in touch with the male side of my emotions," explains Liebens. "The first half of the record is basically how everyone sees a boy when he's heartbroken: he puts his walls up, he's paranoid, he's angry, he's aggressive. But then the second half is this whole other story – it's vulnerable," he continues. "I want to show the vulnerable part of men and boys and celebrate it instead of making it this whole stigma that's been going on for so long."
It's a wide emotional spectrum reflected in a change of instrumentation for Boys Cry Too, with live drums and guitar coming more into focus ahead of the layers of sun-bleached synths that characterised Dawn Of The Freak. The shadowy castlevania, for instance, is described by Liebens as "the perfect triangle of Nirvana, Alice In Chains and My Bloody Valentine's Loveless."
Yet despite its squalls of guitar noise, Liebens says he was largely listening to hip hop artists during the record's competition, citing emo-rap outlier Lil Peep as a key influence as he crafted his own set of lyrical signifiers. "The lyrics in a lot of non-hip hop music try to bring resolution, but it's so much more powerful to have these lines that people just instantly engage with," he notes.
For all the killer lyrics on the record that grab you by the scruff of the neck, it was crucial for Liebens to leave space in his writing for the listener to impart their own experience into the songs. Boys Cry Too may have been born from his own pain, but he wants it to resonate with other people's lives.
