In 2026 viert Eva De Roovere tevens het 20-jarig bestaan van “De Jager”. Ze trekt er op uit en speelt haar succesalbum integraal. Met klassiekers als “Fantastig Toch” (35 miljoen streams !), “Laat Me Je Lied Zijn” en “De Jager” wordt deze concertreeks vanaf het najaar een groot feest van herkenning en vernieuwing, met als kern: liefde voor muziek én publiek.

Want wat is er mooier dan de 20ste verjaardag van een album vieren met… een nieuw album? ‘Sluit De Nacht’ (productie Koen Gisen) wordt een eigentijdse mix van levenslied en liefdeslied: een ode aan poëzie, melodie en ritme. Een zoektocht naar verbinding en troost in deze woelige tijden.  Eigen werk en ook straffe songs geleverd door of samen geschreven met Gert Bettens, Rick De Leeuw, Dirk Blanchart, Sabine Tiels, Wouter Berlaen, Lennaert Maes, Vincent Pierins…ingespeeld door  Eva zelf  en Ward Dhoore: gitaren, Eva Hautekiet: akoestische en electrische piano, Philippe Thuriot: accordeon & bandoneon, Lara Rosseel: contrabas en Kobe Proesmans: percussie & drums.

Eva De Roovere is ongetwijfeld één van de meest creatieve en actieve artiesten in de Benelux. Als zangeres, songwriter en producer heeft ze de afgelopen twee decennia een indrukwekkend oeuvre opgebouwd.  De hitparades in België én Nederland vielen massaal voor haar nummer 1 hit, het licht erotische “Slaap lekker (Fantastig Toch)” dat in originele versie en de remix van Diggy Dex met goud en platina bekroond werd.

4 albums met folkmonument Kadril, 2 met Oblomow, 2 albums met Gerry De Mol waaronder het zeer succesrijke “Kleine blote liedjes” en sinds haar solodebuut “De Jager” uit 2006, een handvol sterke platen onder eigen naam in het Nederlands en Engels waarvan “Hier en Nu” uit 2022 de laatste was. Na een indrukwekkende editie van Thuis Bij Snelle en de succesvolle release van zijn album ‘Binnenspiegel’, komt Snelle vandaag met zijn nieuwe single 'Plaats Delict'. De track is terug te vinden op de deluxe editie van ‘Binnenspiegel’, waarop het nummer als nieuwe toevoeging te horen zal zijn.

Met ‘Plaats Delict’ laat Snelle opnieuw horen hoe hij grote gevoelens weet te vangen in herkenbare verhalen en scherpe woordspelingen. Het nummer is een kwetsbare, maar tegelijkertijd speelse vertaling van de chaos die ontstaat wanneer een prille verliefdheid onverwacht diepe indruk maakt. De slaapkamer verandert in ‘Plaats Delict’: niet vanwege de rommelige nasleep van een bijzondere nacht, maar omdat het echte 'misdrijf' pas de volgende ochtend plaatsvindt, wanneer de ander vertrekt en ongemerkt je hart meeneemt.

Door op inventieve wijze te spelen met forensische beeldspraak, van de hoop dat iemand DNA of vingerafdrukken achterlaat tot het gevoel dat je haast je advocaat moet bellen, bouwt Snelle een muzikale crime scene waarin verliefdheid, verlangen en onzekerheid op een originele manier samenkomen. Achter de humor en de slimme metaforen schuilt een universeel gevoel: de wens om iemand nog nét iets langer bij je te houden en de spanning van de ochtend erna, wanneer je niet weet of het begin van iets moois alweer voorbij is.

De release volgt op een bijzonder succesvol jaar voor Snelle. In juni vond opnieuw een volledig uitverkochte editie van Thuis Bij Snelle plaats, waar duizenden fans samenkwamen voor een festivaldag vol muziek en bijzondere gasten. Nadat hij in ons land op 25 juli al de pannen van het dak speelde tijdens een zonovergoten editie van Play that Song in De Haan én Suikerrock in Tienen afgelopen weekend deed daveren, scoort hij momenteel aan de lopende band met de zomerse megahit 'Parkje Biertje Vrienden' samen met Marc Floor. Fans in ons land kunnen zich daarnaast opmaken voor een nieuw hoogtepunt: op 26 november trekt Snelle naar Trix om Antwerpen volledig op z'n kop te zetten.

Megadeth keert in 2027 nog één allerlaatste keer terug naar België. De legendarische Amerikaanse thrash metalband houdt op 23 maart 2027 halt in Vorst Nationaal, Brussel, als onderdeel van de 'Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations Europe Tour 2027'. Na een memorabel optreden op Graspop Metal Meeting afgelopen juni keert Dave Mustaine nog een laatste keer terug om afscheid te nemen van het Belgische publiek. Alsof dat nog niet genoeg is, wordt de affiche vervolledigd door twee absolute metalgrootheden: Black Label Society en Testament, die de avond openen als special guests.

Weinig muzikanten hebben de thrash metal zo mee vormgegeven als Dave Mustaine. Sinds hij Megadeth in 1983 oprichtte, groeide de band uit tot een van de onbetwiste grootheden van het genre. Met zijn messcherpe riffs, technische precisie en compromisloze songwriting zette Mustaine een standaard waar generaties metalbands zich aan spiegelden. Albums als 'Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?' (1986), 'Rust In Peace' (1990), 'Countdown to Extinction' (1992) groeiden uit tot mijlpalen binnen de thrash metal en behoren vandaag nog steeds tot de absolute klassiekers van het genre. Ook live hebben de nummers van die albums niets aan kracht ingeboet en vormen ze nog altijd het kloppende hart van een Megadeth-show. Met meer dan 50 miljoen verkochte albums, een Grammy Award, tientallen nominaties en miljarden streams blijft Megadeth generaties muzikanten en fans inspireren. Deze allerlaatste tournee valt samen met de release van 'Megadeth', het zeventiende en laatste studioalbum van de band. De plaat wordt nu al geprezen als een van hun sterkste in jaren, met singles als "Tipping Point" en "Let There Be Shred". Na meer dan vier decennia waarin Megadeth de grenzen van de thrash metal mee verlegde, neemt Dave Mustaine afscheid van een uitzonderlijke carrière. 'The Fly', a new spoken-word track by Tom Waits, is out today on all streaming platforms. Waits wields his whipsaw humor in this satirical ode to the common housefly. The track expresses a begrudging admiration for the brief unsung life of the insect: "You have no house, well you have mine / You have no real friends, stay away from the wine / House fly go to sleep say goodbye, no one will weep when you die." The new track arrives alongside an accompanying lyric video illustrated by Casey Waits, which features the fly and his guy.

The Fly' is the B-side to 'Boots On The Ground', Waits’ collaboration with Massive Attack released earlier this year—his first new original music since the 2011 album 'Bad As Me'. Both tracks will be available on 12” vinyl.
When asked about the song, Waits said: "Today, as in all of mankind's yesterdays, guarantees this type of song will never go out of style. Man's folly of fiascos is a feast for the flies. Hence, the B side of Massive Attack’s upcoming 12 inch 'The Fly' features my appreciation for the winged nuisance".
Slated for release on 4th September, the track is only available for streaming but available for purchase on the vinyl 12”. Massive Attack is embracing an eco-conscious vinyl pressing and packaging process for this record to leave a smaller carbon footprint. This ‘EcoSonic’ edition will be 180g vinyl in colors, red, white and blue and are packed at random.

This 12" vinyl is priced as a fundraiser, with proceeds donated by Massive Attack and Waits/Brennan to support civil rights and community advocacy organizations

Bonnie "Prince" Billy – the persona/stage-name of musician Will Oldham - will release a new live album titled Ghosts of American Psychonauts on September 18th. The 8-song set was recorded at The Pico Union Project in Los Angeles over Valentine's Day weekend 2025, just a few weeks after the release of The Purple Bird – and features 3 songs from that album, re-arranged with new instrumentation – among highlights from the BPB catalog. You can hear the version of "London May" (featuring the man London May himself - formerly of Samhain - on drums) .

The performance features Oldham's touring partners Thomas Deakin (clarinet, down-tuned electric guitar) and Jacob Duncan (flute, saxophone) and many additional guests, including the aforementioned May on drums, Emmett Kelly (bass), Ryder McNair (piano), Dv DeVincentis (sax), Patrick Shiroishi (sax) and Dave Ferguson (who produced The Purple Bird and sings here on "Downstream").

Oldham says:
Everyone on the stage (on this record) knows how to tell stories, musically, and relies on this storytelling to create liveable real spaces.  In February of 2025, in Los Angeles, we had stories to share with each other and we did it with a thorough and cathartic push-and-pull with each other, and with the audience. 
The sound of the record doesn't make any sense, nor does its duration, by standard standards, and this allows the record to do what we want music to do which is to make its own sense. 
Once you've been on the road for years it's undeniable that the road is also home, because that's where much of our friends and family are. The stage and the audience were full of friends and family, and music is where we meet.

Er bestaan geniale artiesten die een duidelijke visie hebben en jarenlang compromisloos hun eigen weg gaan.
De gitarist/componist Jan Zehrfeld uit München is zo'n artiest.
Al jaren brengt hij albums uit met z'n "PANZERBALLETT" een groep die zeker onder muzikanten een cultstatus heeft bereikt.
Dit concert is redelijk uniek. Het is het enige in de Benelux.
Panzerballett brengt volledig eigen werk maar ook z'n eigen legendarische "Verkrassungen":
Radicale, humoristische en complexe bewerkingen van bekende muziekstukken uit verschillende muziekstijlen.

Hardrock- en metalklassiekers worden verjazzd (Thunderstruck, Paranoid,...), jazz standards en TV-programma thema's worden gemetalliseerd (Take Five, Pink Panther, Giant Steps, The Simpsons), popdeuntjes worden absurd gebracht ("Ein bißchen Frieden/Een beetje vrede" van Nicole).
De naam geeft het al weer "Panzerballett" staat voor de mix van "hard" en "hoogstaand verfijnd", vervormde gitaar maar ook sax.

De bezetting wijzigde soms wat door de jaren heen maar net zoals Frank Zappa destijds weet Jan zich steeds te omringen door de meest virtuoze muzikanten om zijn visie tot leven te brengen.

Op de Panzerballett affiche staat "featuring VIRGIL DONATI" vermeld.
Drummer Virgil Donati behoort dan ook tot de echte wereldtop. Hij is bekend om z'n razendsnelle spel en z'n complexe polyritmes.
Bij artiesten/bands als Asia, Steve Vai, Michel Polnareff houdt hij zich nog enigszins op de vlakte maar bij Panzerballett kan hij voluit gaan. 
Drummers...verwacht je dus maar aan een masterclass tijdens dit optreden!
Op het internet staan er ook filmpjes van de samenwerking van Panzerballett & Virgil Donati met de NDR BigBand (van de Duitse omroep)

In een ver verleden had je voor dit soort artiesten mecenassen die de artiest sponsorden zodat die zich nooit financiële zorgen moest maken en zich enkel moest bekommeren om z'n "artistiek kind".
De grote culturele centra worden door de overheid gesubsidieerd om uitzonderlijk talent een podium te geven.
Maar in deze financieel moeilijke tijden zijn er ook kleinere clubs, cultuurcentra, organisatoren die hun nek uitsteken door niet-mainstream muziek een podium te geven.
Omdat ze erin geloven, omdat muziek hun passie is en ze hun bezoekers willen laten kennismaken met muziek waarvan ze niet wisten dat het bestond en waarvan ze niet wisten dat ze het nodig hadden! Denk maar aan het recente succes van "Angine de Poitrine". Een duo dat niet-mainstream muziek brengt, die nu opeens een echte hype geworden is maar in feite al jaren in stilte aan de weg was aan het timmeren in het Centre d'expérimentation musicale (CEM) in Quebec
Dit soort clubs en centra worden meestal gedragen door vrijwilligers en het geld om originele muziek op hun podia te brengen, komt soms van de avonden dat ze tribute bands of coverbands programmeren. En als dat helpt om nu en dan ook een groep te programmeren voor de "meerwaardezoeker" zonder financieel kopje onder te gaan, kunnen we dat perfect begrijpen.

De "Zik-Zak", centraal gelegen in België (bijna vlak op de taalgrens in Ittre), is zo'n concertzaal geleid door gepassioneerde muziekliefhebbers. Ze verwelkomen zowel gevestigde als opkomende internationale artiesten.

Hun filosofie is gebaseerd op strenge professionaliteit gecombineerd met een gezinsgeest. Onberispelijke akoestiek, het publiek dicht bij de artiesten.

De avond wordt geopend door het Gentse VESPER. Een instrumentale band die heel organisch een mix brengt van progressieve metal met jazz fusion invloeden en een vleugje ambient. Hun eerste album wordt in 2027 uitgebracht.

Als je goeie muziek en gepassioneerde organisatoren een hart onder de riem wil steken, zak dan zeker op 24 september af naar de Zik-Zak voor een avond vol muzikaal vuurwerk!
