Kevin Morby announces his eighth studio album, Little Wide Open, out May 15th via Dead Oceans, and shares its lead single & video, “Javelin" en "Die youg”. Little Wide Open was produced by Aaron Dessner.
“Little Wide Open is set to a backdrop of tangled highways, towns with populations less than 100,000, roadside crosses, a rock and roll romance, coupling butterflies, being an American entertainer, Econoline vans and more,” explains Morby. “This is, without a doubt, the most personal and vulnerable album I’ve ever made. Aaron did a heroic job of holding me back from throwing too many tricks at the songs, and letting my stories stand a bit naked. Despite its title this album is in fact, very wide open.”
Of now’s single, “Javelin,” Morby says: “This is a song I wrote about being in love with someone you keep circling around the globe, relentlessly traveling through the air and down highways, and then returning home alone to middle America. Amelia Meath (Sylvan Esso) shines here, with her incredible vocals. I had invited her into the studio and asked that she create a backing choir out of just her voice - but her presence is so special that her ‘backing vocals’ can’t help but take the lead.”

In the summer of 2024, Dessner had asked Morby to support The National at their London show in Crystal Palace Park. Shortly after, Dessner—who was on a hot streak, having produced albums for Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Gracie Abrams—reached out to Morby to say he’d love to produce his next album. They began recording at Aaron’s Long Pond Studio in Stuyvesant, NY, early in 2025 and finished in September of that year.
The album, which includes a host of contributors such as Dessner—who plays multiple instruments across it— Meath, Justin Vernon, Katie Gavin, Lucinda Williams, Mat Davidson, Meg Duffy, Oliver Hill, Rachel Baiman, Stuart Bogie, Tim Carr, Andrew Barr, Benjamin Lanz, Colin Croom and Tom Moth, has been described by Morby as the third in an unintentional trilogy of releases, following 2020’s Sundowner and 2022’s This Is a Photograph, which catalogued his time in middle America after moving back to Kansas City. This time out, Dessner’s production elevates Morby’s recordings while never losing focus of the songs themselves. There’s a newfound confidence and clarity in both Morby’s writing and Dessner’s production that recalls Tom Petty’s 1994 classic Wildflowers. Now primarily living in LA, the atmosphere that runs through Little Wide Open has changed somewhat from its predecessors. The feeling of restlessly hurtling towards something new. A future unseen and untested, but inevitable.

Lords Of Acid - Dream Boy
The pioneering electronic dance act Lords Of Acid have released their second single of 2026 today (15th May). 'Dream Boy' is described by the group as "a dark trip through the streets of Necropolis, where addiction feels like salvation and nightmares wear a beautiful disguise."
The song is built as a dialogue between desperation and seduction: a broken soul screaming from inside the chaos, while vocalist Carla Harvey answers like a dangerous angel floating through the smoke.
"'Dream Boy' isn't about judging addiction," they continue. "It's about understanding the pain, loneliness and emptiness that drive people toward it in the first place. We wanted the verses to feel raw and claustrophobic, almost like a panic attack, while the reggae-inspired chorus drifts like a hallucination you never want to wake up from. The line 'Dream boy, keep on floating in the sun' sounds warm and beautiful at first, until you realise it's about somebody slowly disappearing in plain sight. It is one of the darkest songs we have ever written, but underneath the shadows there's still a message of human connection, desire and the search for a real high that doesn't destroy you."
The song follows the recent 'Karaoke Superstar' a tongue-in-cheek collaboration with the hit-making US vocalist and DJ Princess Superstar. It saw the group in full theatrical mode on a hyper-sexual, neon-drenched industrial, metal, acid dance anthem inspired by Japanese game show chaos, underground fetish culture and the absurdity of pop stardom.
Both tracks will appear on a long-awaited seventh Lords Of Acid album in late 2026 that is set to feature other notable guest vocalists as well as the powerhouse voice of Carla Harvey, the reigning 'Acid Queen'. Renowned for her commanding stage presence, the distinctive US singer joined the group in early 2025 having previously been in the metal band Butcher Babies.
Lords Of Acid have maintained an intensive live schedule and are currently midway through a 'Cheeky Freaky Tour' of the US that runs until the end of May.

Debuting with the classic New Beat single 'I Sit On Acid', their debut album 'Lust' appeared in 1991 and was followed periodically by further releases that saw the group become a staple of the Billboard dance and alternative charts. Pain Gain, the collaborative project of Chloe Kaul (Kllo), Hamish Lefevre (SWIM), and Samuel Cooke (CRUSH3d), today announce their self-titled debut album Pain Gain, out July 10 via Play It Again Sam. Alongside the announcement, the trio unveil new single The Fame, offering a striking new window into the world they've built together.
Formed in 2023, Pain Gain began as a deliberate left turn. Shedding their established electronic identities, Kaul, Lefevre and Cooke retreated to the beachside forests of southern Australia, armed with guitars, modular synths and a tape recorder. What began as a temporary escape soon evolved into something far more profound: a complete recalibration of sound, process and purpose. The result is Pain Gain, a debut album that trades velocity for gravity, moving fluidly between indie rock melodrama and expansive pop balladry while rejecting genre as a fixed idea.
New single The Fame sits at the core of the record's emotional landscape. Playing with the familiar architecture of a pop hit, the track subverts expectation to expose the hollow reality beneath success. Written by Kaul during a rare pause from years of touring, its lyrics interrogate what 'making it' really means, before being brought to life collaboratively during the band's remote recording sessions.
"The Fame is a raw look at the seductive pull and hidden cost of fame, viewed from the outside. The track confronts the illusion of it all, the personal sacrifices it demands and the emotional weight it places on those chasing it. At its core, it's not just about the obsession with success, but what it takes from you. It's a reflection on identity, mental strain, and the quiet fear of losing yourself in the very thing you once wanted most."
Across Pain Gain, that tension becomes a guiding force. The album's ten tracks trace personal upheaval with unflinching honesty, led by Kaul's at-times-excoriating lyricism, while Lefevre and Cooke shape immersive, tactile soundscapes where no single voice dominates. Working instinctively, the trio embraced single takes, analogue experimentation and the beauty of imperfection, allowing songs to emerge organically from their surroundings. Each room of their retreat became a makeshift studio; melodies drifted through kitchen conversations, while lyrics were forged in late-night exchanges by the fire.
"We went away together with only the intention of starting something new, we never expected that we would end up not only with an album, but one that feels as cohesive and collectively personal as this. Despite arriving from distinct musical paths, Pain Gain is less a reinvention than a shared language discovered. Rooted in instinct and play, the project became an immersive, almost familial experience for its members, one that ultimately shaped a record concerned with transformation, and the clarity found in its aftermath.

En die heet toevallig ook Guido Belcanto." Zo sprak de wijze Marc Didden onlangs, schrijver en goede vriend van Guido Belcanto.
En dat Guido Belcanto uniek in zijn soort is, bewijst hij nogmaals met "Een Klap Op Je Kop", de eerste single van zijn nieuwe album dat zal uitkomen dit najaar op V2 records. "Een Klap Op Je Kop" is een vrije bewerking van "Kick in the Head", een weinig bekend nummer van Loudon Wainwright. Dit rustige pianonummer bewerkte Guido als een stampende, rockende uptempo song. Een verhaal, ook helemaal van toepassing op Guido's leven. "Ik heb deze situatie zelf meegemaakt. Je kan deze song gerust autobiografisch noemen, zeker weten" aldus Guido Belcanto.

De nieuwe single van Dotan heet ‘Let You Go’.
De track is de tweede single van zijn nieuwe album, dat later dit jaar wordt verwacht. ‘Let You Go’ is een heel persoonlijke song, vertelt de singer-songwriter: “‘Let You Go’ gaat over de innerlijke tweestrijd tussen willen vasthouden en leren loslaten”. Even voorstellen - Francis kondigt nieuwe single ‘Ease My Mind aan’, warme indiepop voor rusteloze gedachten
De Leuvense band Francis is terug met nieuw werk. Na hun eerdere singles en de veelbelovende EP Greenhouse zet de vijfkoppige groep opnieuw een stap vooruit met Ease My Mind, hun nieuwe single die binnenkort verschijnt.
Francis — bestaande uit Louise Beerts (zang), Arnaud Evens en Willem De Flander (gitaar), Flor Minten (bas) en Dries Janssen (drums) — brengt een warme mix van indiepop, soul en rock. Met zwevende gitaren, subtiele grooves en een meeslepende stem creëren ze een sound die tegelijk intiem en groots aanvoelt.
Ease My Mind gaat over het zoeken naar rust in periodes van innerlijke onrust. De song vertaalt dat gevoel in een warme, gedragen sound die troost biedt zonder zwaar te worden. Het nummer balanceert tussen kwetsbaarheid en hoop, en nodigt uit om even stil te staan in de drukte van alledag.
Voor deze release werkte de band opnieuw aan een sound die rijper, rijker klinkt. Daarmee bouwt Francis verder aan hun herkenbare stijl: melodieuze songs met emotionele diepgang en een natuurlijke flow tussen indie, soul en alternatieve rock.
Na de airplay van eerdere releases op onder meer Nostalgie en Radio Emotion blijft Francis verder groeien binnen het Belgische muzieklandschap. Ease My Mind vormt bovendien een volgende stap richting een groter geheel: de band werkt momenteel verder aan nieuwe muziek met het oog op een toekomstig album.

Live at Room 13 is the second of three EPs that The Radar Station will release in 2026. Live at Room 13 features five unique live recordings of songs from their second album Birds of Choice (2025). Recorded at Room 13 Studios, Ghent, Belgium. It captures a moment in time you can return to again and again, with a sincerity rarely found on studio albums.
The Radar Station is known for their authentic live performances, winning over even the most skeptical listeners and continually surprising returning audiences, as their songs evolve on stage with ideas that emerge in the heat of the moment.
The Radar Station played sold-out release tours for both their first and second albums, performing at venues including Ancienne Belgique, Trix, Het Depot, De Arenberg, and many more.

The Radar Station emerged in 2017 from the musical collaboration between brothers Brent Buckler (vocals, guitar) and Sander Cliquet (guitar, backing vocals, synths), creating a distinctive blend of indie rock with cinematic soundscapes. Their sound has always been full of ambition, intensity and raw emotion - drawing inspiration from artists like The National, The War on Drugs, Sam Fender, Nick Cave and Big Thief.
In 2020, they won De Nieuwe Lichting, Belgium's top music contest, launching their debut album Life Inside A Tornado, which hit the airwaves on stations like Studio Brussel, Radio 1, Willy and Radio 2. With sold out shows at venues like AB, Trix and Het Depot and appearances at festivals including Dranouter and Labadoux, The Radar Station made its mark in the Belgian indie scene.
Their second album, Birds Of Choice, produced by Koen Gisen (The Bony King Of Nowhere, Oscar & The Wolf, Nordmann), came out fall 2025 and reflects a more mature and straightforward band.
Songs like Where Will You Go? and January Colours, capture a band embracing change. Each track is its own journey, blending Cliquet's expansive sonic landscape with introspective lyrics by Buckler, whose unique warm voice infuse the songs with an extraordinary amount of vitality and passion.
Buckler: "I wrote the lyrics after a restless period eating up the better part of my late 20s. A play of coincidence shaped my life, only to wake up realising it all didn't feel right. It was a time of big changes with some old friendships and relationships coming to an end. Birds Of Choice is about looking for what truly matters and taking control of your own path in life."

Voor het eerst is het volledige repertoire van Ashbury Faith beschikbaar op alle streamingplatformen. Een belangrijke stap waardoor het oeuvre van de Antwerpse band eindelijk integraal toegankelijk wordt voor het brede publiek.
Afgelopen herfst verscheen ‘Zed’, het meest recente album van de band. Met ‘Go Fuck Yourself’ leverde Ashbury Faith een opvallende Afrekening-hit af, een nummer dat hun compromisloze en directe sound krachtig onderstreept.
Nu volgt ook de digitale release van ‘Adrenalin’, door zowel critici als de band zelf beschouwd als hun creatieve hoogtepunt. De plaat werd opgenomen in Philadelphia onder leiding van producer Stiff Johnson en vangt Ashbury Faith op hun meest rauwe en intense moment. Het geluid sluit naadloos aan bij de verschroeiende livereputatie van het trio. Ook vandaag klinkt ‘Ladder’ nog steeds even vitaal als bij de release.
Ashbury Faith bestond uit Axl Peleman (bas), Reinert D’Haene (drums) en Matthias Van der Hallen (gitaar). Als Antwerps powertrio bouwden ze een sterke livereputatie uit op grote festivals zoals Rock Werchter (BE), Rock am Ring en Rock im Park (DE), en in zalen als Paradiso (Amsterdam), Ancienne Belgique (Brussel), Bataclan (Parijs), de Roxy en de Viper Room (Los Angeles). Die reputatie werd bekroond met onder meer een ZAMU Award.
Een reünietournee lijkt voorlopig niet aan de orde: Ashbury Faith verkiest de kracht van wat was te behouden.

Het Canadese fenomeen Daniel Caesar strijkt op 8 september 2026 neer in Brussel voor zijn allereerste concert in België. Elvis Costello voegt een Belgische datum toe aan zijn Europese tour 'Radio Soul! The Early Songs of Elvis Costello!'. Na passages in Oslo, Stockholm en Londen strijkt het Britse icoon op maandag 29 juni 2026 neer in Ancienne Belgique in Brussel. Dit concert vindt plaats in aanloop naar zijn optreden op de Main Stage van Rock Werchter op donderdag 2 juli. De perfecte gelegenheid om Costello, samen met The Imposters en Charlie Sexton, in een intieme setting aan het werk te zien.
Met de 'Radio Soul!'-tour duikt de Britse-Ierse singer-songwriter in de vormende beginjaren van zijn carrière. Hij brengt werk van zijn albums die verschenen tussen 1977 en 1986, van 'My Aim Is True' tot 'Blood & Chocolate'. Dit nieuwe project blijft trouw aan zijn speelse en onvoorspelbare stijl en combineert tijdloze klassiekers als "Watching The Detectives", "Alison" of "I Want You" met zorgvuldig gekozen parels en verrassingen.
