Belgian superstar singer, songwriter and producer Angèle releases her third studio album, 'Instinct', out now via GGL Records / Sony Music.
When Angèle broke through at just 21, she was improvising. She wrote, composed, produced and tinkered without a real structure, without guidance, without a handbook. For 'Instinct', she challenges herself by moving forward without a safety net. After years of wanting to prove she made her songs without relying on anyone else, Angèle finally gave herself permission: to step outside pop conventions, to keep a slightly imperfect (yet perfectly in-tune) vocal take, to spend months alone at home composing, producing and writing every song herself and, later, to surround herself with others.
First among them was her longtime ally Tristan Salvati. A friend, songwriter and co-producer, he plays a role on Instinct close to that of a coach. Around that core, Angèle invited new energies into her orbit. French Touch 2.0 icon Justice joins her on 'What You Want' and Flemish electronic duo Soulwax on the club-driven anthem 'Trop'. American singer Caroline Polachek lends her voice, and her Brussels-shaped French, to the hedonistic 'Love Triangle', also featuring SebastiAn; its visualizer was released earlier this week. British songwriter and producer Oscar Scheller (Charli XCX, Lily Allen, Shygirl, Ashnikko) co-wrote 'f4ck 4ever' in just two hours in a Greenpoint studio.
Focus track 'Au Revoir' came out of Angèle’s first collective songwriting session, with Swedish producer Elvira Anderfjärd (Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Tove Lo), Luka Kloser, her co-producer on Addison Rae’s debut album, and Oscar Holter (The Weeknd’s 'Blinding Lights'). “For years, I sometimes preferred inventing stories with people who weren’t right for me rather than being alone,” says Angèle. “With this song, I bid farewell to that emotional dependency, in a mix of French and English because it felt right.”
Angèle recorded everywhere, all the time: at Brussels’ ICP studios, at La Fabrique in the south of France, at New York’s Electric Lady Studios and in apartments converted into home studios. Her surroundings seep into the songs, from the crowd at her concerts in the opening track to a New York ambulance siren in the breakup ballad 'On verra', and snippets of conversations between friends in the closing 'NYC Blues'. New York, where Angèle perfected her English, has become more than a refuge: it is a musical anchor.
The album also gives her family a new place. On 'Je sais', she addresses her father, Marka. The intimate remains political: the artist who once penned the feminist anthem 'Balance ton quoi' now delivers a sentimental protest song with 'Trop', as well as the moral crisis of 'Une seule vie'.
From the earliest stages, Angèle wanted movement above all. She partnered with (LA)HORDE, the choreographic collective behind Madonna’s 'Celebration Tour' and Rosalía’s 'LUX Tour', and director of the Ballet National de Marseille since 2019, which oversaw the visual direction of the project. Together, they conceived 'Instinct' as a 360-degree experience, with music calling for images and images summoning movement. The cover photograph is by Grant James-Thomas.
Angèle broke through in 2017 with 'La Loi de Murphy', followed by her albums 'Brol' (2018) and 'Nonante-Cinq' (2021) and sold-out tours from intimate venues to stadiums. In nine years, she has become one of the most influential European artists of her generation, with close to 4 billion streams globally. She has recorded with Dua Lipa and performed 'Nightcall' with Phoenix and the late Kavinsky at the Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She serves as Global Ambassador for Chanel and has a partnership with Adidas.
The 'Instinct' era has drawn wide international media attention, from Pitchfork, Billboard, NME, Nylon, Wonderland, i-D and The Times to Zane Lowe, BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Genius and Trackstar. Angèle has appeared on the covers of Vanity Fair France, Vanity Fair Italia, T Magazine Germany, Nuebo in Spain, and Society and Les Inrockuptibles in France. In 2027, she takes 'Instinct' on a world tour, including five nights at Paris’ Accor Arena and dates in Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

StuBru news - 'In the End' van Linkin Park twee jaar op rij op nummer 1 in de 500 van de jaren nul
Voor het tweede jaar op rij staat 'In the End' van Linkin Park op nummer één in de 500 van de jaren nul van Studio Brussel. De band blijft daarmee de grote favoriet van de luisteraars. Ook in de rest van de lijst bevestigt Linkin Park zijn status als publiekslieveling: de band staat maar liefst zes keer in de top 100 en twaalf keer in de volledige top 500.
'In the End' blijft ook twintig jaar na zijn release een vaste waarde. De klassieker van Linkin Park behoudt voor het tweede jaar op rij de koppositie in de 500 van de jaren nul. Daarmee blijft de band de heerser van de lijst: geen enkele andere artiest staat zo vaak in de top 100. Ook over de volledige top 500 is Linkin Park met twaalf nummers de meest vertegenwoordigde band.
My Chemical Romance krijgt boost door zotte videoclip
Ook My Chemical Romance doet het bijzonder goed. 'Welcome to the Black Parade' stijgt van plaats vier naar plaats twee en verovert zo een plek op het podium. De videoclip van de iconische rockklassieker kreeg dit jaar een remake door Studio Brussel, met host Thibault Christiaensen als frontman Gerard Way, samen met andere Studio Brussel-gezichten en een dertigtal luisteraars. My Chemical Romance deelde de remake bovendien op hun eigen sociale media, waar de band zo'n 2,7 miljoen volgers bereikt.

Amy Winehouse en Queens of the Stone Age in de lift
Amy Winehouse staat met twee nummers in de top 100, die allebei stijgen. 'Back to Black' haalt zelfs de vijfde plaats. Het is een opvallende notering in een jaar waarin het gelijknamige album twintig jaar wordt.
Ook Queens of the Stone Age doet het goed met drie nummers in de top 100. De twee hoogst genoteerde nummers stijgen, met 'No One Knows' dat doorstoot naar de tiende plaats. Daarnaast vallen Florence + The Machine, Mumford & Sons en Natasha Bedingfield op na sterke festivalshows.

Een week lang stond Studio Brussel helemaal in het teken van de jaren nul. Van emo-anthems en gitaarriffs tot furbies en MSN: de 500 van de jaren nul bracht de nostalgie helemaal terug. Met muziek die herinneringen oproept aan de eerste mp3-spelers, de soundtrack van de tienerjaren en nummers die nog altijd iedereen aan het meebrullen krijgen. En bovenaan die muzikale tijdreis? Linkin Park, dat met 'In the End' voor het tweede jaar op rij de kroon op het werk zet.

Maquina - Dansen in de rockkroeg, pogoën in de dansclub
We starten met een valse noot. Bothlane is een Belgische elektroprutser die een irritante mix verspreidt van botsauto-techno, chaotische drums en een enerverend geluid dat doet denken aan een hopeloos kapotte dieselmotor. Bothlane wil zijn publiek in een dansmodus brengen maar mist volledig zijn doel, de meesten geraken eerder in een nakende hartstilstand-modus. Als bij wonder vallen hier geen slachtoffers.
Is MAQUINA een rockband die de dansvloer doet ontploffen of is het een dance-act die rockt als de beesten?
Beiden, verdomme, neem dat van ons aan, want dit Portugese trio is gewoon geweldig, ultra aanstekelijk en bijzonder prikkelend. Een soort uiterst opwindende body-electronic muziek met immer stuwende gitaren.
Die kerels weten in geen tijd van Le Grand Mix een kolkende dansclub te maken, dit met hun unieke en bewogen mix van stomende industrial-techno, ontspoorde kraut-rock en immer bruisende rave-rock. En wat het allemaal nog indrukwekkender maakt, ze verschuilen zich niet achter allerlei elektronische panelen maar halen hun explosieve sound gewoon uit de klassieke bas-gitaar-drums opstelling.
Met daarbovenop uiteraard een shitload aan effectenpedalen, dat kan ook niet anders. Mitrailleur-riffs meten zich met pompende beats en overstuurde vocals, het resultaat is uiterst energiek en immer opzwepend. Geen mens die kan blijven stil staan bij pulserende tracks als “Pressure/Pleasure”, “Body Control” en “kontakte”, stuk voor stuk songs die zichzelf steevast naar een kokende climax stuwen en zo Le Grand Mix gedurig in vuur en vlam zetten.
Een explosief feestje. Dit is van het meest opwindende dat we dit jaar mochten meemaken.

Having teased four singles since April, the pioneering Belgian hard-edged dance act Lords Of Acid are finally ready to unveil their new album, 'Mundo Bizarro'. It will be released digitally on 15th October to coincide with the start of part 2 of the group's 'Cheeky Freaky' US tour, with LP and CD formats to follow on 9th November.
The group's first album of all new work since 2018, it includes all four singles - Karaoke Superstar' (featuring Princess Superstar), 'Dream Boy' (featuring Carla Harvey, the reigning 'Acid Queen'), 'El Mundo Está Loco' (featuring Tony & The Kiki) and 'Ich Will Nur Dass' (featuring Mari Kattman) - plus a further seven dynamic and frequently flamboyant new songs.
Formerly co-lead vocalist of the American heavy rock band Buther Babies, Carla Harvey joined Lords Of Acid in January 2025. The group has since gone from strength to strength, wowing live audiences via regular bouts of touring, especially in the USA.
LORDS OF ACID | BIOGRAPHY
Formed in Antwerp, Belgium in 1988, Lords of Acid are recognised as one of the most influential acts to emerge from the hard-edged electronic dance music scene of that era. Adopting and adapting underground club culture aesthetics fom the off, they blended techno, acid house and industrial music with provocative lyrics on themes of sexuality, drug use and hedonism. Debuting with the classic New Beat single 'I Sit On Acid', their debut album 'Lust' appeared in 1991 and was followed periodically by further releases that saw the group become a staple of the Billboard dance and alternative charts. Having built a substantial global following while maintaining a multi-decade touring career, Lords of Acid remain one of their genre's most recognisable and enduring names.

Kids With Buns release their new album "bell jar" today, including the focus track of the same name. The title track 'bell jar' carries the theme that holds the entire record together. A song about clinging to the idea of a person, the fact that in theory you could work, and the boundless self-loss that comes with it. Letting yourself be treated terribly, knowing it, and allowing it to happen out of love. Sylvia Plath would understand.
The earth's orbit can sometimes be as infuriating as it is inevitable. The sun gives just as it takes away, and perhaps the romantic soul would deem this nature's humble trial on how to navigate the darkness.
Kids With Buns, the indie pop duo of Amber Piddington and Marie Van Uytvanck, underwent similarly maddening cycles during the making of their second LP bell jar, a reference to Sylvia Plath's famous semi-autobiographical novel. "The theme of The Bell Jar is how every process in your life is actually circular, regarding the healing from mental health issues," says Amber. "When things get better, they will also get worse, and at some point, that becomes a very present theme in our lives. We felt that we kept falling into certain patterns."
Much of the album's material was written during those spells of scrambling through the darkness. The grief of processing two simultaneous breakups vs. the joy of being two songwriters who compliment each other so very potently. It's, in a way, its own cyclical process, one that kept two souls afloat when that larger cycle fractured.
One of the duo's biggest growth spurts since Kids With Buns' 2023 debut LP Out of Place has been honing a newly-hatched cinematic depth. "With this album, we just had a much clearer and stronger idea of how the songs should sound," says Marie. "Not only arrangement-wise, but the production as well. The majority of this album materialised during writing sessions in Amber's bedroom, right in the middle of our grieving process."
A big catalyst in fleshing the songs out further was working with Lucy Dacus-producer Jacob Blizard, who they met at a festival in the Netherlands. After Jacob shot the duo a message to collaborate, before they knew it, Amber and Marie packed their bags to Philadelphia to record some of the demoed material with him. One of the first songs that materialised here was "The Finite", a song that quite devastatingly captures Marie's breakup in realtime. Right after, Marie literally stood at Amber's front door and played the voice memo of the song to her.
"It is such a vulnerable song, but we felt so safe with Jacob to start with 'The Finite'. I was so affected by it that we finished it first in Philly. It's a beautiful example of our mutual trust," Amber reflects. Turns out it is always sunny in Philadelphia, despite being huddled together in a murky basement half the time. Blizard had a collection of gear and instruments that helped Amber and Marie guide their songs to their sonic potential. And, maybe more importantly, the fortitude to power through with an infectious three-way recording process.
For the cycle of healing comes as much from revisiting one's deepest aches as the 'moving on'. Inevitably, many of the songs Kids With Buns wrote turned into prophecies. Olds wounds reopened, recurring patterns emerged, and reality caught up with the dream, as it so often does. The writing process was temporarily halted to deal with the recurring situations through professional counseling.
Serendipitously, the break between sessions fostered songs of unflinching introspection. Like on "I'd Be Honest", a song where Amber candidly interrogates her own tendency to find comfort in the destruction. "This album is about heartbreak, and I felt it was very important that we didn't put ourselves in the role of victim," Amber explains. "The fact that I found myself in harmful patterns, because I didn't know how to be alone. This is addressed in songs like "Car Crash" and "Nothing But Indigo", which is about repeatedly relapsing into escapist behavior."
bell jar is an album that holds an umbrella above this outpouring. It often comes down to seeing love's potential existing within its curved shapes, and fighting for that potential to be actualised. That quest is often one beyond an individual's control; the lovesick "Half Of A Dream" and the shrewdly-titled "Best Friends" orbit the epicenter of this painful falling out. "The whole album is about moments where love can fail," says Marie. "All the possible things you run into, where things don't work out in love."
Going through these volatile motions together, it mushroomed Amber and Marie's love and appreciation for their remarkable chemistry; their innately joyous way of recouping each other's blind spots, as well as amplifying their different strengths. It allowed Kids With Buns to fulfill the potential of the songs on bell jar, and come out stronger and wiser as people throughout its dizzying emotional journey.
Amber: "Marie's insights made me realise that, from a cyclical standpoint, things seemed to spiral downward. And at the other side of the writing process, a different Amber and a different Marie emerged. Two people who went through the toils and showed that things can indeed turn out alright, albeit not unscathed."
Marie: "We started out with Kids With Buns at age 18 and 20 respectively, and we were not trained musicians by any means. To be able to put that complete puzzle together; the arrangement, the songs, the production everything contributes to the whole of a song. We have had the privilege of learning it by doing it, from the bedroom to the stage. And we see the potential in each other's ideas where no one else would."

Op 16 oktober 2026 verschijnt het debuutalbum 'Any Questions?' van JEN, zowel digitaal als op een violetkleurige vinyl. Op 15 november 2026 viert de Belgische poprockartieste de release met een eigen concert in Ancienne Belgique.
JEN is het poprockproject van de 25-jarige Jente Neels. Met een frisse sound, stevige gitaren, messcherpe hooks en een krachtige, herkenbare stem bouwt ze gestaag aan haar plaats binnen de Belgische popscene. Samen met haar strakke liveband staat ze bekend om energieke concerten waarin pop en alternatieve rock moeiteloos samenvloeien.
Naast haar eigen project stond Jente de voorbije jaren ook als live- en sessiemuzikant op het podium met uiteenlopende Belgische artiesten. Die ervaringen vormden mee de basis voor haar eigen muziek.
"Ik heb veel geluk gehad dat ik met zoveel goede artiesten en muzikanten op het podium heb mogen staan. Daar heb ik enorm veel van geleerd. Maar mijn doel is altijd geweest om mijn eigen muziek te schrijven en uit te brengen."
Met Any Questions? presenteert JEN meer dan een verzameling songs. Het album groeide uit tot een reflectie op de wereld waarin haar generatie opgroeit. Geboren in 2001 en opgegroeid in het tijdperk van sociale media stelt ze kritische vragen over identiteit, individualisme, zelfbeeld en de constante druk om jezelf te bewijzen. Ook de twijfels die horen bij het leven als twintiger lopen als een rode draad door de plaat. Muzikaal beweegt JEN zich tussen pop en alternatieve rock, met invloeden van onder meer Olivia Rodrigo en St. Vincent, zonder zich in één genre te laten vastpinnen. Ook tekstueel toont ze een nieuwe kant van zichzelf.
"Tot nu toe bracht ik alleen losse singles uit. Op deze plaat hoop ik dat mensen een genuanceerdere versie van mezelf leren kennen. Iemand die nadenkt over het leven en over waar ze eigenlijk naartoe wil."
Het album is bovendien een echt familie- en vriendenproject. Haar partner verzorgde de mix en coproductie, haar zus werkte mee aan de videoclips, haar vader speelde gitaar op de plaat en haar moeder hielp mee aan het livedecor. De openingstrack bevat zelfs een fragment uit een compositie die haar vader schreef toen Jente net geboren was.
Met 'Any Questions?' levert JEN een debuut af waarop persoonlijke verhalen, maatschappelijke observaties en een eigentijdse poprocksound samenkomen. Een album dat uitnodigt om vragen te stellen, maar vooral om volop te voelen.

De Nederlandse artieste Maite Louisa prikkelt je zintuigen en verleidt je gemoed met stuwende synthpop en weemoedige poëtische teksten op verleidelijke melodieën. Met haar debuutalbum Efforts presenteert ze een gelaagd elektronisch werk waarin rauwe, menselijke kwetsbaarheid en strakke elektro-pop samenkomen.
Met een wendbaar stemgeluid en aanstekelijke zanglijnen beweegt Maite Louisa tussen dromerige sereniteit en een onderliggende melancholie. Haar vocale melodieën rusten op gelaagde synths, strakke doch speelse beats en verrassende elektronische accenten. Ingeweven loops en samples zorgen voor onverwachte muzikale wendingen en een sfeer die blijft hangen.
In negen verhalende tracks behandelt ze zowel rauwe emoties als maatschappelijke observaties. Het album verkent thema’s rondom rouw en het afscheid van haar moeder, het verlangen naar houvast in een gehaaste wereld en vangt het moment waarop onhaalbare verwachtingen plaatsmaken voor berusting. Tegelijkertijd brengt ze tegenwicht op dansbare tracks, waar ze met een eigenzinnige blik en een snuifje ironie kijkt naar mislukte romantiek en de moderne datingcultuur.
Het album is het resultaat van een intensieve artistieke en persoonlijke weg. De titel Efforts vat de inspanning samen die Maite leverde om haar dromen en talenten op eigen voorwaarden vorm te geven, gedreven door artistieke autonomie.
Voor de productie dook Maite Louisa De Boma Studio in met producer Frederik Segers (STADT, De Beren Gieren). De mastering werd gedaan door Lieven Van Pée (Echoes of Zoo, De Beren Gieren).
Als extra dimensie creëerde Maite Louisa de afgelopen maanden een complete visuele wereld rondom Efforts. Deze komt tot leven in het CD-boekje, speciale artworkkaarten en in de podiumvisuals tijdens de albumreleaseshow.
RELEASE & FORMATS
Op vrijdag 13 november verschijnt Efforts officieel op CD, via Bandcamp en als exclusieve set artworkkaarten met downloadcodes. Waar de fysieke editie meteen de volledige negen tracks telt, ontvouwt het album zich op streamingdiensten stapsgewijs: op de releasedatum zijn er zes nummers te beluisteren, waarna de overige tracks in de maanden daarna volgen met elk hun eigen visuele uitwerking.
De officiële albumreleaseshow vindt plaats op vrijdag 11 december in het Lakenmetershuis te Gent (organisatie: SuitUp vzw).
OVER MAITE LOUISA
Maite Louisa verruilde in 2014 Den Haag voor muziekstad Gent om zich te storten op haar passie voor muziek. In De Boma Studio werkte ze onder leiding van Frederik Segers aan haar debuutalbum. Haar achtergrond in de visuele kunst smelt naadloos samen met de muziek: naast doordachte DIY-videoclips verrijkt ze haar live-set nu ook met hypnotiserende visuals.

BRDCAST april
BRDCST is terug van weggeweest. AB’s meest avontuurlijke en genrefluïde festival geeft in april een podium aan het spannendste wat avant-garde pop, futuristische hiphop, Afrikaanse black metal, electronica, jazz en improvisatie te bieden heeft.
Met om en bij de 50 namen oogt het programma van BRDCST overweldigend. Van vrijdag 3 tot en met maandag 6 April verwelkomt BRDCST jullie in AB, cinema Palace en de kunstgallerij VanhaerentsArtCollection. Gastcuratoren Keeley Forsyth, Ichiko Aoba en Stephen O’Malley zetten er elk op geheel eigen wijze een avond naar hun hand. De programmatorische tentakels reiken daarbij van Bolivië tot Zuid-Korea en kennen geen grens qua genre. Op BRDCST gaan hiphop, freejazz, ambient en artpop hand in hand. Alle acts hebben daarbij één gemene deler: een unieke sound, die algoritmes doet spaak lopen

Carrying the Flame: Egypt 80 and the Legacy of Fela Kuti
Born into musical revolution as the youngest son of Afrobeat founder Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Seun Kuti stepped up to lead Egypt 80 at just 14 years old following his father's passing in 1997.
While Egypt 80 proudly carries Fela's founding legacy, the ensemble has evolved far beyond its original boundaries. ‘Ten’ is de tweede en laatste single van OX, de EP die op 6 november verschijnt. Vik Hardy (Tamino) nam de mix van OX voor zijn rekening.
Het wordt de persoonlijkste release van senna JMB tot nu toe: melancholische gitaren kruisen Braziliaanse samples, cloudrap, postpunk en tegendraadse pop.

Live heeft senna JMB de voorbije jaren stevig aan de weg getimmerd.
Vanuit zijn thuisbasis Brussel bracht zijn parcours hem naar podia in heel België én daarbuiten, met shows in Nederland, Frankrijk en Duitsland. Zo stond hij onder meer in Botanique, Beursschouwburg, Vaartkapoen, Volta, Kavka, Charlatan en Muziekodroom, maar evengoed in Cinetol in Amsterdam, La Pointe Lafayette in Parijs en Clärchens Ballhaus en Loophole in Berlijn.
Onderweg deelde hij het podium met internationale artiesten als Nourished by Time, Wicca Phase Springs Eternal en Aime Simone.
Ook in 2026 blijft senna JMB volop live spelen, met passages dit voorjaar onder meer in De Vaartkapoen te Brussel en op Rock Landen, gevolgd door een zomershow in Oersoep in Brussel.
Zaterdag 12 september verwelkomde het festival Leffingeleuren senna JMB en later in de maand mocht de Brusselaar tweemaal openen voor de Deense betoverende indie-artiest GB: zowel in de Botanique als in Trefpunt.
Donderdag 29 oktober volgt er dan een nieuwe thuismatch op 'Stoemp!', de gratis concerten in authentieke Brusselse kroegen en culturele hotspots.
Maandag 9 november mag senna JMB langsgaan bij de Brusselse radiozender Kiosk Radio en donderdag 10 december kan je hem live aan het werk zien in Bar Lucy te Antwerpen.

De Brusselse artiest senna JMB bouwt aan een nieuwe wereld rond melancholische gitaren. Dwalende melodieën, rafelige beats en dromerige avant-pop vloeien samen tot een collageachtig geheel. De zachte harmonieën en donkere energie die zijn eerdere cloudrap-avonturen kleurden, staan nu centraal. Cloudrap, omgevormd tot cloudrock.
‘Madman’, een samenwerking met Victor De Roo en Lindy Versyck, was het eerste statement van dit nieuwe hoofdstuk.
Voor die nieuwe reeks nummers sloeg senna JMB de handen in elkaar met zangeres Lindy Versyck (TJE, Arsenal). Ook muzikanten Niels Teerlynck (Sunchaser), Tim Pensaert (Meltheads), Ismaël Iken (Kiche) en Kobe Lijnen (Whispering Sons) werkten mee.
Voor de EP ‘OX’ namen Vik Hardy (Tamino) en Jonas Steurs (gone icon) de mixing en opnames voor hun rekening. Ruben Vandermeulen zorgde voor de opnames van de single ‘Madman', Jacob Hus voor de mixing’.
In augustus 2025 raakte bekend dat senna JMB geselecteerd is voor de voorrondes van de Brusselse editie van Sound Track. In april 2026 debuteerde senna JMB op het Brusselse internetradio platform Kiosk Radio.
Met het alias senna JMB verwijst Johan Marc Baeten (°1997) naar zijn Belgische en Braziliaanse roots, via de referentie naar de gemythologiseerde Formule 1-piloot Ayrton Senna. “Het lot heeft me bij Senna gebracht: mijn Belgische vader was grote fan, de familie van mijn Braziliaanse moeder woonde aan de Ayrton Sennalaan. Met ‘senna JMB’ verwijs ik dus ook naar mijn Belgisch-Braziliaanse achtergrond”, legt hij uit in Knack Focus.
Die dubbele identiteit uit zich niet alleen letterlijk, maar ook op diepere niveaus.
De geslepen, existentiële teksten zijn ingebed in een escapistisch verlangen naar andere plekken en tijden, terwijl ze op ongeregelde manieren de realiteit vervormen. In zijn lyrics koppelt senna JMB soms mysterieuze expressies en beeldende associaties aan uitgesproken frasen waarin een ontegensprekelijke lust for life vervat zit, telkens cruisend op de snelheid van de stad en met de zelftherapie van het schrijven indachtig, resulterend in een authentieke stream-of-consciousness.
Scenery (ep, 2022) betekende een eerste, ietwat impulsieve kennismaking met senna JMB. Toch mocht hij met een ep die in eigen beheer verscheen en zonder label, booker of manager zijn live-opwachting maken in Botanique, Volta, en Pilar (Brussel); Muziekodroom (Hasselt); Kultura (Luik); Zebrastraat (Gent) en Museum M (Leuven).
De jury van de Zebrastraat-showcasewedstrijd in Gent, bestaande uit professionals uit de muziekwereld, selecteerde senna JMB in 2023 als een van de veertien laureaten uit meer dan honderd inschrijvingen.
In 2024, na voorprogramma slots in Botanique (Brussel) en Kavka (Antwerpen), verscheen met Purity (album, 2024) een mini-lp. Acht ongeremde tracks die surfen op dromerige energie in een regelloze wereld waarmee senna JMB zich onmogelijk in een hokje laat plaatsen.
Er volgden in 2024 na een releaseshow in Beursschouwburg (Brussel) livedata in Cinetol (Amsterdam), Charlatan (Gent), Loophole (Berlijn), La Pointe Lafayette (Parijs), De Serre (Hasselt), Cabron (Antwerpen), Mercerie (Brussel) en Zwart Goud (Maasmechelen).
Begin 2025 startte senna JMB onder de noemer Neopolis met een maandelijkse show op BRUZZ ICE.

Al Di Meola speelde met Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke en Lenny White in de legendarische jazz-fusion band Return To Forever.
Op zijn soloalbum ‘Elegant Gypsy’ uit 1977 toont Al Di Meola zijn voorliefde voor flamenco and Latin jazz. ‘Mediterranean Sundance’ en ‘Race With Devil On Spanish Highway’ zijn twee hoogtepunten van het album.

Even voorstellen – Korinthians – ‘after life’
Drie jaar na A Major Walk brengt de Gentse postpunk band KORINTHIANS een nieuw album uit: op 23 oktober wordt After Life op de wereld losgelaten.
Het album gaat over een fatale crisis in het leven van zanger Mattias. Doem en somberheid, dus. Maar wel gebracht met de aanstekelijke dansbaarheid die doet denken aan Arcade Fire. After Life, het derde studioalbum van de band, staat voor leven en dood, eenzaamheid in verdriet, of euforie in een menigte. Het gaat over je klein voelen, over de wanhoop het leven niet de baas te kunnen, over donkere gedachten en over hoe je een fantasiewereld kan creëren als manier om met dit alles om te gaan.
Met de komst van de toetseniste en zangeres Celine heeft de band nu een volwassener geluid gevonden, met meeslepende synthesizerpartijen, een consistent strakke en pulserende ritmesectie, en twee vocalen die speels strijden om een plekje in de schijnwerpers. *After Life* is geproduceerd door Koenraad Foesters, ook bekend van zijn werk met Whispering Sons, en is vooral voer voor fans van Editors, High Hi of Customs.

Even voorstellen – Tommy LeFroy - The Precariat
Het aankomende album van de band Tommy LeFroy - Soft-rockduo Tommy LeFroy brengt op 23 oktober hun debuutalbum The Precariat uit. De titel verwijst naar de term van econoom Guy Standing voor een nieuwe klasse die gebukt gaat onder financiële onzekerheid, en het duo, Wynter Bethel en Tessa Mouzourakis, maakte bewust een plaat over die precaire tijd.
Ze hebben 6 jaar de tijd genomen om het album vorm te geven en hebben geschreven in Nashville, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Michigan en London. Het album beschrijft niet alleen een veranderende wereld, maar ook de veranderingen die Wynter en Tessa als personen doormaakten.
Dat vertaalt zich in aanstekelijke indierock met scherpe teksten: lead single Slush Puppy is een sarcastische parodie op hyperconsumptie en in Angel In The House laat Mouzourakis stonerriffs los op Virginia Woolfs 'Professions For Women'. Het album is geproduceerd door Stephen Sesso en Mike Crossey (The 1975, MUNA). Eerder stond de band in het voorprogramma van onder anderen Sigrid, Samia en Niall Horan.

ESNS 2027 - Noorderslag podium 2027
ISABÈL USHER, JET VAN DER STEEN EN TRAMHAUS NAAR NOORDERSLAG 2027
ESNS KONDIGT 11 NIEUWE NAMEN VOOR NOORDERSLAG AAN
ESNS maakt opnieuw elf namen bekend voor Noorderslag 2027. Op zaterdag 16 januari staan in De Oosterpoort in Groningen zowel opkomend talent als gevestigde namen op het podium. Voor deze tweede lichting zijn onder meer Isabèl Usher, jet van der steen, Hiigo, De Baron en Tramhaus bevestigd. Noorderslag is traditiegetrouw de afsluiter van ESNS en zet de nieuwste generatie Nederlandse artiesten in de schijnwerpers.
Spotify RADAR en NPO 3FM Talent
Isabèl Usher maakt eerlijke, kwetsbare pop met een authentiek stemgeluid. Zij is, net als Langa, door Spotify RADAR geselecteerd voor Noorderslag. Via RADAR zet Spotify opkomende artiesten over de hele wereld in de schijnwerpers. jet van der steen werd vorig jaar op Noorderslag uitgeroepen tot 3FM Talent tijdens de live-uitzending van NPO 3FM. Met haar eigenzinnige popgeluid, waarin ze elektronica verweeft, staat ze komende editie wederom op de line-up van Noorderslag.
MAYTE maakt Friestalige alt-pop met teksten recht uit het hart. Met thema’s als verloren liefdes en opgroeien neemt ze je mee in haar explosieve, theatrale performance. Vaandeldragers van de moderne nederpop Hiigo zette zichzelf landelijk op de kaart met het nummer 'Tankstation' en brengt hun tweede album op 30 oktober uit. De Baron brengt met Guerilla-Brass een mix van desertrock, Balkanbeats en het Nederlandse levenslied.
De band The Klittens combineert hun liefde voor popmuziek en duistere sferen met een punkmentaliteit. Deze mix zorgt voor een geluid dat volstrekt uniek is. The Bird Experience mengt psychedelische bluesrock met soul. Op hun veelzijdige debuutalbum klinkt een band die zich niet tot één genre laat beperken. KRAM is een Iers-Nederlandse band die alternatieve postpunk maakt vol urgentie en spanning.
Ook liefhebbers van hardere muziek komen op Noorderslag aan hun trekken. De muziek van Electropunkband De Plaag is poëtisch met een rauwe rand, gedurfd wanneer het kan en kwetsbaar wanneer het moet. Post-punksensatie Tramhaus brengt vanuit Rotterdam een energieke mix van post-hardcore, shoegaze en punkrock naar het podium. En voor wie het nóg harder mag is er State Power: een grote dosis pure liefde in zijn meest agressieve vorm. De band speelt met thrash metal doordrenkte hardcorepunk en staat garant voor een intense liveshow.

ESNS 2027 - Noorderslag als podium voor de Nederlandse popmuziek
De zaterdag van ESNS staat traditiegetrouw volledig in het teken van Noorderslag. De slotdag in De Oosterpoort is al decennialang een belangrijk moment voor de Nederlandse popmuziek, waar nieuwe acts zich voor het eerst aan een groot publiek kunnen presenteren en de Popprijs wordt uitgereikt.
ESNS27 vindt plaats van 13 tot en met 16 januari in Groningen. Van woensdag tot en met vrijdag zijn tijdens Eurosonic Europese artiesten te zien op verschillende locaties in de stad. Noorderslag vindt plaats op zaterdag 16 januari in De Oosterpoort. Kaarten voor Eurosonic en Noorderslag verkrijgbaar via esns.nl.
Over ESNS
Elk jaar in januari verandert Groningen in het kloppende hart van de Europese muziekindustrie, wanneer ESNS haar showcasefestival en muziekconferentie organiseert. Van woensdag tot en met vrijdag zijn tijdens Eurosonic opkomende acts uit Europa op podia in de binnenstad te zien. De zaterdag staat in het teken Noorderslag, al sinds 1986 de graadmeter voor de Nederlandse popmuziek. Alleen de meest veelbelovende Europese en Nederlandse artiesten krijgen hier de kans zich te presenteren aan muziekliefhebbers en professionals.
Het hele jaar door ondersteunt ESNS talent via initiatieven zoals de European Talent Exchange en reikt het belangrijke prijzen uit, waaronder de Music Moves Europe Awards, de European Festival Awards en de Popprijs. Daarnaast werkt ESNS samen met belangrijke organisaties als Yourope, EBU en Green Deal Circular Festivals om een diverse en duurzame muziekscene te bevorderen.

That's dEUS talking about Keptman, their first new music since 2023's critically acclaimed How To Replace It. It's an appropriately slippery description for a band that has spent more than three decades turning beautiful things into slightly dangerous ones.
The song began life as a dictaphone demo, written in Portugal and eventually brought back to Antwerp. Even the title happened by accident. Engineer João Portela simply ignored the space between the two words. Some mistakes, as it turns out, are worth keeping.
Keptman arrives hot on the heels of dEUS' Worst Case vs In a Bar tour, a celebratory trip back into the band's early catalogue that concluded with an exhilarating show in Reykjavík earlier this month. But rather than leaving them trapped in the past, the tour seems to have done the opposite. It has pushed dEUS deeper into the present and straight into the studio.
For much of the past year, the band immersed themselves in songs that had been gathering dust for decades. Some were 30 years old; some had never been played live at all. Night after night, the band rediscovered the loose, abrasive and occasionally unruly energy of Worst Case Scenario and In a Bar, Under the Sea. Inevitably, some of that electricity followed them home.
It can be heard all over Keptman.
A crooked guitar riff loops like a bad thought you can't quite shake. Tom Barman delivers his lines with a loose-limbed swagger, somewhere between conversational and confrontational. Klaas Janzoons and new guitarist Simen Følstad pile up layers of noise and countermelodies, while Stéphane Misseghers and Alan Gevaert provide the track with a steady, insistent pulse. Everything keeps tightening until the song erupts into a climax with, appropriately enough, a certain smell of roses.
It's immediate. It's infectious and it's slightly wonky around the edges.
In other words, it sounds like dEUS.
And there's a reason that sound has travelled so far...
Formed in Antwerp in 1991, dEUS were never simply a Belgian band that happened to break internationally. From the release of Worst Case Scenario in 1994, they became part of a broader European alternative-rock conversation, earning critical acclaim and building a following well beyond Belgium. Their music travelled across borders at a time when international success for a Belgian guitar band was far from guaranteed.
Albums such as In a Bar, Under the Sea, The Ideal Crash, Pocket Revolution and Vantage Point expanded that reach, while relentless touring turned dEUS into a formidable live act across Europe and beyond. Over the years, they have played major European venues and festivals and cultivated an audience that has followed them through multiple incarnations of the alternative-rock landscape.
The remarkable thing is not simply that dEUS have survived for more than 35 years. It's that their songs have continued to feel slightly out of place and therefore strangely at home wherever they are played.
Their international career was built without sanding down the eccentricities that made the band interesting in the first place. dEUS have always been comfortable somewhere between art rock and guitar rock, melody and dissonance, elegance and mess. They can write a beautiful song and then spend the next three minutes deliberately making it uncomfortable.
The recent catalogue tour offered a reminder of exactly that. Songs written in the early 1990s suddenly sounded less like museum pieces than raw material. And when the band returned to Vantage Point Studios in Antwerp to start work on a new record, that renewed sense of freedom came with them. The result is an album that is still unnamed but already has a pulse of its own.
Keptman is the first glimpse: It's a song about dependence and desire, about the things we know we probably shouldn't want quite so badly and wanting them anyway. An ambiguously heartfelt ode, perhaps, to the almost narcotic attraction of beautiful stuff. Oh, and it's a total banger!

London/Hackney-born singer-songwriter Bertie Newman returns with his new single "between the pines", released via V2 Records.
A warm and reflective step into a new chapter, "between the pines" explores the feeling of yearning for a relationship that hasn't arrived yet — imagining what love could look like and the possibilities that come with it. Written during a period when Bertie found himself longing for a deeper romantic connection, the track captures the space between imagination and reality, where the idea of a future relationship can feel almost as vivid as the real thing.
"I was definitely yearning romantically at that time," Bertie explains. "I had this imagination of all the possibilities that could be at some point."
Sonically, "between the pines" sits comfortably within Bertie's tender indie-folk world, pairing understated acoustic textures with his intimate vocal delivery. The single follows Bertie's recent five-track EP my dear, porcelain, a deeply personal project exploring grief, growth and acceptance following the loss of a close friend. While the EP looked inward at loss and healing, "between the pines" represents a shift towards possibility — a song about looking forward and imagining what might still be waiting around the corner.
Bertie's ability to turn personal experiences into intimate, relatable songwriting has already earned him a growing international audience. His breakout track "Seaside Eyes" has surpassed 10 million streams.

Björk Orkestral with the Hamrahlíð Choir, the extraordinary concert experience recorded at Reykjavík's Harpa Concert Hall on 24 October 2021, will receive its world wide physical release on 27 November 2026.
More than a live recording, Björk Orkestral with the Hamrahlíð Choir captures a meeting between one of Iceland's most singular musical voices and one of its most important choral institutions. Across an expansive reimagining of Björk's catalogue, choral arrangements, electronics and her own voice are brought together to reveal familiar songs in unfamiliar forms, sometimes monumental, sometimes fragile, always deeply physical.

i am so happy and proud of this concert .. we all put enormous love , energy and time into it . i have learned slowly through the years , about the juxtaposition of voices and the electronic ... for me it is a philosophical matter , how nature and technology can coexist amicably . i got an opportunity to learn how to get this balance just right , through extensive rehearsals in the space we got in covid . it is often easier for me to do this on the recordings , but here we did it physically live . and i could tweak older songs that i felt i hadn´t acquired experience yet how to perform live . i am grateful to bergur þórisson , þorgerður ingólfsdóttir and the hamrahlíð choir for their generousity and this experience .

The concert was recorded as part of Björk's series of Orkestral performances at Harpa in 2021, a project conceived around the idea of returning to her music through orchestration rather than spectacle. Stripped back from the elaborate visual worlds of her larger productions, these performances placed the architecture of the songs themselves centre stage: strings, winds, choir, electronics and voice interacting as one living organism.
At the heart of this particular performance is Hamrahlíðarkórinn, the Hamrahlíð Choir, conducted by its legendary founder Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir, whose relationship with Björk has grown into one of the most significant creative collaborations in her recent work. Some of the arrangements were performed by this choir in the recordings, but this live performance also includes other song originally written for other voice-ensembles or instruments from Björk's catalogue. Their voices bring a different physicality to songs, music that moves between the intimate and the immense
The repertoire draws primarily from the vocal world of Medúlla (2004) and explores the possibilities of the human voice, nature, technology and new forms of musical collaboration. Heard together in this setting, the songs form a kind of alternate history of Björk's work: compositions continuously being dismantled, re-orchestrated and rebuilt through new combinations of breath, bodies, electronics and space.
The performance also carries the particular atmosphere of its time. Recorded in Reykjavíkin October 2021, as live music and collective gatherings were slowly returning after the profound disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, the concert brought together musicians and voices at a moment when the simple act of singing together had acquired an extraordinary significance. Across Björk's four Orkestral concerts at Harpa, more than 100 Icelandic musicians took part, making the series not only a celebration of her catalogue but a portrait of the breadth and depth of Iceland's musical community.
The proceeds from the original concert series supported Kvennaathvarfið, a women's shelter in Reykjavík.
For Björk, theHamrahlíð Choir collaboration has become an ongoing musical relationship rather than a one-off encounter. Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir and the choir first joined Björk on Body Memory, from 2017's Utopia, before becoming an integral part of the Cornucopia live world. The choir appeared at the original Cornucopia performances at The Shedin New York in 2019, followed by the European tour and the filming of Cornucopiain Lisbon.
The collaboration continues to evolve. Most recently, members of the choir contributed to Sorrowful Soil, part of Björk's immersive installation at the National Gallery of Iceland, demonstrating a creative relationship that continues to move fluidly between recorded music, live performance, visual art and installation.
With Björk Orkestral with the Hamrahlíð Choir, songs that have travelled through decades of Björk's musical language are heard anew, not as replicas of their recorded originals, but as compositions still capable of changing shape. The result is a document of Icelandic musicianship, a celebration of the voice and a rare glimpse into the emotional architecture of Björk's music when the spectacle falls away and the music itself takes centre stage.

THE HAMRAHLÍÐ CHOIR
The Hamrahlíð Choir has been at the forefront of Icelandic musical life for more than half a century. Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir formed the Hamrahlíð Choir in 1982 and she has been its conductor ever since. The Hamrahlíð Choir is an ensemble made up of graduates of the hamrahlíð college choir which þorgerður established in 1967.
Around 3000 Icelandic teenagers have come into contact with classical music through the Hamrahlíð choral experience. Many of these had no prior musical training, but through diligent practice they have gone on to participate in music-making of the highest quality, from new Icelandic compositions to the choral masterworks of Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.
The Hamrahlíð College Choir has been a breeding ground for many of Iceland's leading singers, instrumentalists and composers. among the many musicians who are former members of the choir are pianist Víkingur Ólafsson, composer Bára Gísladóttir, composer Haukur Tómasson, musicologist Árni Heimir Ingólfsson, baritone Ólafur Kjartan Sigurðarson, bass Kristinn Sigmundsson and Björk herself.
Although the Hamrahlíð College Choir was primarily devoted to musical education, it has from the very beginning been dedicated to giving performances of the highest quality. Critics of the performances, of both the Hamrahlíð choir and the Hamrahlíð College Choir, throughout the world have praised its accurate intonation, clear diction and the high level of enthusiasm and commitment that are among the hallmarks of the choir's music-making.
Throughout its history, both choirs have collaborated closely with Icelandic composers. over 100 works have been composed especially for the choirs, including works by virtually all of Iceland's leading composers. Apart from its close association with native composers, the choirs have collaborated with foreign artists such as Arvo pärt and John Cage. Arvo Pärt was so impressed with the choir's performance of his Te Deum in 1998 that he composed a choral work dedicated to Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir, ...which was the son of..., which was premièred in 2000.
The Hamrahlíð Choir sings with a pure, flexible, well-blended sound, and it performs with exuberance and a youthful sense of discovery. With its dedication, passion, and spirit, the hamrahlíð choir has touched audiences around the world. The choir has travelled to 27 countries and has performed at many of the world's leading choral festivals to great acclaim, introducing audiences around the world to the rich legacy of Icelandic choral music.
The choir has participated in festivals in Europe, North America, and Asia, and collaborated with renowned conductors such as Tõnu Kaljuste, Osmo Vänskä, Lukas Foss and Thomas Adés. The choir has been a member of the European Federation of young choirs since 1978, and is one of the founding members of the International Federation for choral music.

Met Intercom Master bouwt Jung Ang verder aan een eigen muzikale wereld, waarin dromerige synths, autotune-vocals en catchy melodieën samenkomen. De EP klinkt melancholisch en speels tegelijk en haalt inspiratie uit de digitale wereld, nostalgie en persoonlijke ervaringen.
Op de EP vloeien herinneringen en het online leven in elkaar over. Les Nuits Weekender
Les Nuits Weekender dat plaatsvindt in november. Deze editie wordt een herfstversie van ons traditionele lentefestival, Les Nuits Botanique, maar dan over één weekend. Maar je vindt hier ook dezelfde passie voor nieuwe ontdekkingen die ons zo dierbaar is, in een gedurfd en eclectisch programma
Het Tough Enough festival
Het festival onderscheidt zich door zijn tweeledige programmatie, waarbij traditionele, akoestische- en 'roots' acts worden gecombineerd met meer rock-geïnspireerde sounds, van garage tot punk, surf en psychedelische rock.
Een echte muzikale smeltkroes waar elke artiest op de een of andere manier een unieke band heeft met de blues. En omdat we in de Bota zijn, zal naast gevestigde bands die al bekend zijn bij liefhebbers van de betreffende stijlen, ook veel aandacht worden besteed aan opkomende bands die de toekomst van deze genres vormgeven, de grenzen van hun muziekgenre verleggen, innoveren.

SOUND TRACK: GLOEDNIEUW PODIUM- EN KANSENPARCOURS VOOR ARTIESTEN
Vi.be (voorheen Poppunt) en het volledige livecircuit slaan de handen in elkaar en lanceren Sound Track: daarmee gaan we dit najaar op zoek naar de sound van elke regio in Vlaanderen en Brussel! Samen met N9 en Casino organiseert Democrazy Sound Track in Oost-Vlaanderen.
De 18 finalisten krijgen een jaar lang exposure, speelkansen en top level coaching op maat om op eigen snelheid te kunnen groeien als artiest.
Club Midi: samenwerking Muziekclub Democrazy en Kunstencentrum Vooruit
Kunstencentrum Vooruit opent zijn deuren voor Muziekclub Democrazy. De gezamenlijke concertreeks die in 2005 werd opgestart onder de noemer Club Midi, kreeg vanaf het najaar 2008 een vervolg. Club Midi staat voor een brede reeks van muziekavonden: van smerige rock and roll tot alternatieve pop, intieme folk en singer-songwriters, projecten rond elektronica en dansmuziek en specifieke thema-avonden (reggae, soul, hiphop, hardcore, ....).

Palmarium
Palmarium brengt een zinderende concertenreeks in de prachtige idyllische plantentuin van het Gents Universiteitsmuseum. Verspreid over zeven donderdagavonden presenteert de reeks veertien unieke concerten, elk met een eigen sound die resoneert met de natuurlijke omgeving. Van tropische trips tot vibrerende soundscapes.
Palmarium is een uitloper van de programmatie in Theresia, de eigenwijze culturele invulling in een voormalig slotklooster midden in de Gentse studentenbuurt.
Deze concertenreeks organiseren we in samenwerking met VIERNULVIER en Kunstmest en GUM.

Spectral singer-songwriter Mynolia releases 'Holy Line', an elemental and serene new single, along with the announcement of her upcoming new album 'Salt Around My Bed', out 15th January 2027 via Full Time Hobby.
New single 'Holy Line' captures the blurring of fantasy and real life, with distinctions dissolving, leaving a hazy, dreamlike environment to explore. The single is accompanied by a live performance video of the song, recorded at Berlin's Schiller Theatre. Its soft, pillowy soundscape wraps around and pulls everything into a trance-like atmosphere, grounded by Mynolia's striking vocals.
On the single Mynolia has said. "This song emerged almost fully from a vivid, bittersweet dream. It's disorienting when there is no discernible distinction between the dream memory and a real-life memory. 'Holy Line' is about reuniting with something you'd never really had, or had all along but didn't know it. The album's title, Salt Around My Bed, comes from the second verse: 'draw circles on my back in the new just like the old, salt around my bed, hoping you'd come along'. For me, the intention and magic was set in the dream, which made that threshold, or holy line, even blurrier."
After years spent in constant motion and relocation, Mynolia found a sense of stillness, settling in Berlin for her first adult years. She then made the decision to embark on a new beginning, landing in the remote wilderness of America's South, where she has drawn on those curative breaths and brought forth her most transformative work to date.
Spending her days learning the land and tapping into the unhurried sounds around her, 'Salt Around My Bed' gives warn-in instruments new life, and molds difficult lessons and fresh wisdoms into hypnotic synths and lush vocals. The fluidity of what 'home' means for Mynolia, is reflected in the songs; a sense of arresting vulnerability is constantly met with an unwavering resilience that comes from a lifetime of experience. She also found herself tuning into the mundane magic unfurling all around, making friends with her superstitions and recognizing the holiness in even the humblest of tasks. The burning of pictures, the scattering of salt, the crushing of eggshells for the garden - Mynolia conducts each ritual with equal care throughout the album, understanding the power we all hold within.
Speaking on the album Mynolia shares:
"My mind is a seesaw in pursuit of balance, but most of the time it's the not thinking that makes things snap into focus, the laughing that deepens the capacity for emotion and temperance that actually lays the foundation for change, both personal and collective."
She brought the almost finished project to the celebrated ambient jazz instrumentalist Rich Ruth, and with the help of musicians and friends from around the world, they fleshed out the final vision. Pete Pételle and Florian Holoubek have added drums and percussion, Full Time Hobby label-mate Spencer Cullum provided pedal steel, with Corin Droullard on horns. Violin and mandolin were courtesy of Patrick McGonigle, with Sam Que on flute. Co-producer Rich Ruth also brought synths, guitar and bass. Mynolia's friend Taylor Wafford (Blood Root) provided backing vocals, and her husband Charles Michael Parks Jr. (of the band All Them Witches) played bass.
The success of Mynolia's first release from the single 'Run Like Hell', drew critical attention from the likes of Clash who called it an "alt-folk hymnal shrouded in magic. Hushed tones reminiscent of Jessica Pratt or Vashti Bunyan"; and The Most Radicalist calling Mynolia's sound "ethereal and otherworldly" and "folky and evocative".
Mynolia is committed to defending this latest chapter, scattering a protective circle around all she has gathered, leaned into, and let go of in recent years, but on Salt Around My Bed, there's space for you to join and welcome peace alongside her.

Op hun nieuwe single vindt de Limburgse band de perfecte balans tussen popmelodieën en rockritmes!

CMON CMON en het productieteam verbleven een week lang in de Hoge Venen voor opnames in de GAM Studios in La Chapelle (Waimes). De sessies vonden plaats slechts enkele maanden voordat een verwoestende brand het natuurgebied in de as legde.
De nieuwe single werd gemixt in de JBJ Studio in Londen door Jamie Brown die eerder o.m. met Primal Scream, The 1975 en Bloxx werkte.
CMON CMON keert terug met een geweldige mix van powerpopmelodieën, harmonieën en dynamiek. Stap voor stap breidt de band zijn discografie uit door klassieke songwriting en boeiende teksten te combineren met de rauwe energie die zo kenmerkend is voor powerpop; ze vinden de perfecte balans tussen popmelodieën en rockritmes en leveren keer op keer pakkende, radiovriendelijke nummers af.
Jorrit Hermans, zanger en gitarist van CMON CMON, legt uit: "New England In Fall is tot nu toe ons meest 'november-achtige' nummer. Ik probeer vrolijke nummers te schrijven, maar dat lukt me nooit helemaal. Het klinkt aangenaam in het gehoor, maar het is verdomd zwaar voor de ziel."
Sinds de release van hun verrassende debuutalbum ‘The Crack and The Light’ (geproducet door Alex Newport) in 2023 en de EP ‘Headwind’ uit 2025, bewandelt CMON CMON een indiepad waarbij oprechte, persoonlijke verhalen in muziekvorm centraal staan.
Deze muzikale reis leidde ertoe dat ze het voorprogramma verzorgden van de uit Boston afkomstige postrock-/indieband The Sheila Divine tijdens hun comebacktournee in 2025.
In Amerika werden hun vorige singles gedraaid op meer dan 40 college radios.
‘New England In Fall’ is de eerste single die CMON CMON heeft afgewerkt na de opnames in La Chapelle. Het artwork is ontworpen door de Belgische ontwerpster Lisa Van de Vyver, met foto's voor de hoes van de Belgische fotograaf Peter M. Hoste.

In 2027 volgen er meerdere nieuwe singles en in de zomer gaat de band opnieuw on the road, gevolgd door een clubtour in het najaar.

De Belgische elektronische muzieksensatie Henri PFR slaat de handen in mekaar met de Nederlandse singer/songwriter Carston op de nieuwe single ‘Make Love’.
Een productie die heel zomers aanvoelt en die net daarom uitermate geschikt is om de korter wordende dagen op te luisteren.

Op donderdag 22 oktober nemen Henri PFR en Carston samen deel aan de ADE Morning Run.
Dat is een exclusieve, intieme hardlooptocht van 5 km voor 50 tot 100 fans langs iconische locaties in Amsterdam (de Dam, de Magere Brug, het Rijksmuseum), met start en finish bij de Tomorrowland expositie op het Amsterdam Dance Event.
Na afloop spelen Henri PFR en Carston een pop-up optreden.

Het Depot en Stad Leuven werkten samen aan nieuwe bruisende plek in Leuven voor muziek, events en nachtcultuur! Het stadsbestuur van Leuven besliste om het gebouw van Domo Meubelen in de Bondgenotenlaan aan te kopen. De stad sluit nu met muziekcentrum Het Depot een samenwerkings- en een erfpachtovereenkomst af voor de invulling, de uitbating en de verbouwing van het pand.

Lawijtstrijd - Lawijtstrijd - Muziekconcours Waasland
LAWIJSTRIJD, het legendarische muziekconcours van het Waasland is terug in een samenwerkingsverband van De Casino Concertzaal, Lokerse Feesten, Crammerock en jeugdhuizen Den Eglantier (De Nest), De Cramme en Okapi. De wedstrijd wordt ondersteund door Cultuurtuin Waas (Interwaas) en de stads- en gemeentebesturen van Lokeren, Sint- Niklaas en Stekene. (zie info site )
AFTRAP: Drie spots worden vrijgehouden voor jonge talenten uit de buurt die hun kans willen wagen om op één van onze podia te spelen die dag. Zij ontvangen naast podiumervaring en eeuwige roem ook catering en drankbonnen voor een dolle avond. Concreet zijn we op zoek naar allround dj’s, maar ook dj’s en live acts uit de hardere en experimentele elektronische genres zijn welkom met hun inzendingen.
De Tijdloze: Tijd voor 90: De Tijdloze en De Casino slaan jaarlijks de handen in elkaar om het muziekrepertoire van de gouden jaren negentig te vieren. Ontstaan als eindejaarslijst op Studio Brussel en na 35 jaar uitgegroeid tot een muzikaal begrip, vervelde De Tijdloze (100) in 2018 tot een onafhankelijk online radiokanaal (VRT MAX / DAB+) waar onder meer Stijn Van De Voorde (For Those About To Rock) en Roos Van Acker (Jouw Tijdloze Ochtenradio) de pop- en rockgeschiedenis alle eer aandoen. Liefhebbers van nostalgische hits kunnen sindsdien afstemmen op deze volwassen geworden digitale stream om er vierentwintig uur per dag, zeven dagen per week de beste klassiekers te beluisteren.
GREAT GIGS IN THE PARK Tien extraordinaire concertavonden De Casino Concertzaal en het stadsbestuur Sint-Niklaas presenteren een derde editie van Great Gigs in the Park. Deze reeks openluchtconcerten, die plaatsvinden in de feeërieke setting van het historische Casino Park (DC terras), wordt dit jaar gespreid over drie weken (van woensdag 14 juni tot donderdag 6 juli) en bundelt in die periode tien extraordinaire openluchtshows op de Casino[1]kiosk. Gezelligheid is het codewoord tijdens Great Gigs in the Park, want voor elk concertavonden worden slechts 600 tickets aangeboden. Programma De line-up van Great Gigs in the Park biedt een staalkaart van waar de Casino voor staat, zijnde een veelheid aan uiteenlopende muziekgenres: van hardrock en post-metal over elektrofunk en groove tot roots en droompop. De Casino presenteert ook elke concertavond een uitgekiende support-act: laureaten van Lawijtstrijd, speerpunten uit de Brusselse elektrojazz-hype, punk-calamiteiten, een crossover tussen doom en oriëntal, maar ook western swing-adepten en singer-songwriters.
